Seaside Family Home with a peaceful setting overlooking a sheltered bay

Hosts Bob & Jennifer are retired world travellers and enjoy welcoming guests from home and abroad. Salty's by the Sea is a recent, well planned addition to their family home of 50 years. Beyond our fully fenced gardens, there is easy access to the sea shore and our sheltered bay, where seals bask on rocks, eagles soar, ducks and birds come to play.

Our spacious 600 sq ft ground floor studio comes with a well equipped kitchenette, living area with queen sofa bed, a cosy queen bed area and bathroom with shower. Through the sliding doors to a fenced garden and area, our sea side garden is ready for your enjoyment under the gazebo and other sitting areas by the sea. Our mellow Bearded Collie, Fergus, invites your friendly dog (Under 75 kg) to visit his back yard. Sorry but we cannot accept cats.

Our seaside home is 30 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from the BC Ferries terminal. Full shopping amenities are nearby.

We provide our guests with starter basics for several breakfasts; milk, juice, coffee and tea; cereals, eggs, yogurt & bread.

I still can't find the words to describe how stunningly beautiful this property is. The peace and quiet and natural surroundings are like nothing I've experienced before. Bob and Jennifer are such lovely hosts and they made me feel welcome and cared for during my week long stay. Thank you!

Beautiful back yard overlooking the pacific ocean with a view to Washington and the Olympic Peninsula. Very friendly hosts. Quiet & Peaceful. Has a large yard for our dogs to play in. Accommodations equipped with all you need for a great stay and you can bring your dogs!!!we will be back. Ellie & Gordy

This was our third wonderful stay with Bob and Jennifer. They are attentive as well as welcoming hosts. Our favourite furry friend Fergus is a treat!Our suite had everything that we needed. It is very cutely decorated!The bed is very comfortable with lovely linens.They have breakfast items that they provide to start you off as well as coffee and tea.The kitchen is nicely equipped for those that enjoy doing some cooking.They have a fantastic garden!The bathroom is roomy which I appreciate.The location is amazing, even better than the photos! Fabulous in every way. The peaceful setting, beauty of the property ( flowers, gardens, outdoor sitting areas overlooking the strait) Watching the sea lions, sea otters, various birds waterfowl, ships in the distance coming in and out of the strait. Beautiful mornings and evenings. Oasis. Super convenient to Victoria and wonderful sites in the area. Hosts warm friendly and had kitchen stocked with eggs, bread, milk, juice, fruit to start us off on arrival. We can’t wait to go back and hated to leave.

SPECTACULAR!! The views, the serenity, the wildlife, and the hosts Bob and Jennifer are fantastic. The suite has absolutely everything you need. The proximity to grocery stores and food is really great as well. Hope to return many times.

Amazing hosts and location.

It was a memorable weekend at Metchosin. It’s quiet and vibrant. Jennifer and Bob’s place is something you will treasure, you have the million dollar view while watching the seals, birds, kayakers and ships passing by.

Great respite location from busy Victoria

Enjoyed our calm and relaxing stay at Bob and Jennifer's beautiful property. Very generous hosts who generously provided a few breakfast items to get us started. The back yard was a wonderful sanctuary with a beautiful view, and it was fenced for our dog, too. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Slice of Paradise

Bob and Jennifer were gracious hosts with tons of suggestions on things to do in and around Victoria. The property itself was beautifully manicured with ample outdoor seating to just sit around and watch the ships, seals, bald eagles and even whales. The suite is lovely and well equipped.

Quiet Getaway close to Victoria

Bob and Jennifer are sweet. We wanted quiet privacy to celebrate our anniversary just the two of us and we found that here with a private apartment attached to Bob and Jennifer's home. Beautiful view, quiet neighborhood, and simple breakfast items for us.

Perfect getaway!

The location was perfect for us. We wanted to have a car so we didn’t want to be downtown. To have the water right there was just spectacular. What a special spot! Thanks for sharing your home with us Bob and Jennifer (and Fergus)!

Total Relaxation

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The pictures don't do justice, the view over the private cove was incredible and we could spend the day watching all the different birds and animals that make this there home. The accommodation were very comfortable and had everything needed for our stay.

Absolutely delightful

Very welcoming hosts who welcomed us into their lovely home, provided some delicious staples and some great advice about the locality. The view from the garden was absolutely breathtaking and we greatly enjoyed watching the array of wildlife. Thank you for a lovely few days.

Incredible VRBO with amazing ocean view

This is our 2nd time staying at this VRBO and would stay again if we are in the area. Very clean and spacious suite in immaculate condition with everything one would need. We found the ocean view from this property to be amazing and very peaceful. Owners are great to deal with and are very friendly. I would highly recommend this VRBO.

Located on Parry Bay, with a view of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, the rural setting is second to none. As a waterfront acreage, the house has been substantially updated to ensure family members will continue to enjoy it for years to come.
