Hummingird Road Cabins is located in the heart of Southern Illinois Wine Country, just off the beaten path. Down a quiet road with the beauty of Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest surrounding us.
Whether you need a quiet getaway for the weekend with no hassles, or just a place to sleep after touring Southern Illinois Wine Country, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Hummingbird Road Cabin offers a quiet place in the woods to enjoy Southern Illinois from, or just stay on the property and enjoy catching some fish in the pond. We have 23 acres of woods to walk around in as well, with much wildlife around. Deer, owls, hummingbirds, squirrels, woodpeckers and eagles are just some of the wildlife we our often blessed with.

Comfort: At Hummingbird Road Cabin, we want you to feel at home, and that means being comfortable where you are. This is a rural area, very quiet, in the woods, if that sounds good to you then please come check us out. I live across the pond on the hill, if there is something you are missing or if we can do more to make your stay a better one, please let us know.

Customer Relations: At HummingBird Road Cabins, our highest priority is satisfied customers. You are important to us and you can expect us to go the extra mile for your business. We have stayed multiple times at the Hummingbird Cabin and plan to return. The host is fantastic, and we have come to consider her our friend. We look forward to our trips to this little slice of heaven.

The host was very nice and respectful. I do believe the cabin pictures online make it look more secluded than what it is. That was okay for the most part. We were aware the owner lived across the pond, but there was also a neighbor, I'm guessing a relative maybe. He was over one evening in a loud boom lift while we were trying to fish, enjoy some wine and a fire. His dog along with the owners dog were repeatedly on the property. While we dont mind dogs, we were not told theyd be around, and they were there everytime we were outside , jumping on us. Im allergic to dogs so this was a bit frustrating. The owner of one of the dogs was driving onto the property a couple times to get his dog, so as far as privacy goes it didnt feel very private. The cabin itself wasnt bad. It was clean and well stocked, my only complaint there was with being in such close proximity to the owners house there was no curtains on the front door , the kitchen window or the back door (which the bathroom was directly across from the back door) if i could make a suggestion there, it would be to put privacy curtains up. The living room air unit worked , however the buttons were broke to adjust the temp. They did provide fire wood , but it had been sitting by the wood line and was old and wet and wouldnt light. So we had to go buy our own. Aside from these inconveniences, its a decent place to stay and i wouldnt be opposed to staying again, if they take into consideration these things.

Pictures in listing are deceiving. They fail to show the house directly across from cabin thus making you believe it is a private area. Host offered to refund money but we had nowhere else to go. The cabin was very clean except for shower which had either mold or grime at its base. Host responded promptly to the hot tub filled with suds and the bbq grill gas outage.

What a beautiful little cabin! We absolutely adored the place and had such a peaceful experience. The hot tub was wonderful as well as the pond! Not very far from the trails and winerys either! The cabin was very clean and had lovely decor that made it so inviting. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend if you are looking for the perfect little getaway.

One of our favorite places

We have stayed here several times for our anniversary & plan on being back. We always have a fun, relaxing time. Theres a hot tub, fishing, & a fire pit on the property. We typically go on a hike and/or to a winery during our stay. Ive only seen one negative review on here & honestly no clue what was wrong with them cuz its a perfect place for some rekaxation. There is a house across the pond but never felt like we were being watched or anything like that. There is a dog that vusits but hes sweet! Just dont keep any food outside unattended just in case. Highly recommend!

Perfect girls’ trip

We have stayed with Geloria several times, and each time is even better than the last! If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to relax and recharge, this is it. The cabin is quaint, cute, clean, and stocked with all the essentials. We had the privilege of watching the first hummingbirds of the season. Geloria is the perfect host, and look forward to staying here again!

Clean and cozy

Thank you for hosting us at your lovely cabin for our anniversary weekend! We truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and all the thoughtful touches that made our stay so relaxing. You provided everything we needed, and we felt right at home. Your kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The owners are nearby but very respectful of privacy. A tip for future guests: be careful not to miss the driveway on your way in. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in the future!P.S. Be aware of the neighborhood furbabies—they are very friendly and sweet!The Johnson (from Chicago)

The peace we needed

Without a doubt this has been one of my best VRBO stays. The property was ready to go and when when the property owner learned we drove for over 5 hourd she even let us check in a little early. The property was set us so every room is cozy and warm and the hot tub was clean and ready for use. Miss. Gloria was a pleasure to work with and very responsive, it was nice to have her and her son so close in case we needed them right away. It rained one day and the firewood we had set out was wet so Ricky (Miss. Glorias son) brought more fresh dry wood. We are looking forward to more visits here in the future. If i could give Miss. Gloria and her property 10 stars i would. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
