Large Rainforest Treehouse Cabin
Our secluded unconventional house in North Vancouver is quite magical. Its nestled up in the tress of 2 acres of private rainforest. Mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, hiking, golfing, beaches within 7 mins. Downtown Vancouver only 20 minutes away.
Our 4400 Sq Ft (410 square meters) house is quite unique. Modern rustic in decor and well suited for families and parties that are active and adventurous.
There are two wings and both have separate entrance or you can just use one entry point to access both wings.
In the Main wing, the master bedroom has a king sized bed and the other room as a double bed plus a single bed tucked up in a view loft/nook accessible only via a ladder. (The kids love this!)
In the North wing, there is a suite with a Queen bed and a double sofa bed as well.
There is also a large separate area (590 sq ft) with a (200 sq ft) loft space. There there are 2 built-in single beds that are just so unique to the space.
There is also a cozy built-in climb-up double bed nook in the media room as well.
We are not a TV watching family, though we have a large screen TV but NO cable and located only in the media room. No television in any other bedrooms.
This space is serene yet grand and it is extremely private. One cannot see the house from street level for it is tucked up high in mid-line of giant pine trees.
This house is designed for social gatherings where the open plan with wood and beam high ceilings and the split levels provide spaces for multiple functions at the same time. Not to mention the Aga stove! If you love to cook, you will love this over 700 sq ft (65 square meters) kitchen.
It has a great working wood burning fireplace and a middle-grand piano in the living room just waiting to be used. Great place to get cozy after a long day of mountain biking, golfing, kayaking, paddle boarding or skiing and curl up by the giant sofa with a book and a cup of hot ginger tea.
There is also a large 700 sq ft (65 sq meters) patio space where you can dine el fresco in the warmer days.
Kids of all ages LOVE this house. Mainly because of the unusual layout, it maybe large but it is also very cozy, therefore it is a dream to play hide and seek in.
This is definitely not a conventional house. To get to the front door, one needs either to walk up around 100 steps, intertwined in the trees, or have the gusto to drive up a steep driveway.
The spaces inside and outside throughout property will surprise you with delight.
Our neighbourhood is quiet, serene and accessible to Downtown, 3 local ski mountains. We are right in the thick of outdoor mecca. 1.5 hrs to Whistler where day trips are totally possible.
Mountain biking trails (the mecca of mountain biking really), 2 golf courses, skiing or hiking in the rustic Seymour Mountain, access to the famous Baden Powell Trail from the end of our street, a huge waterfall just a 10 minute walk from the house, the magnificent Deep Cove, gorgeous beaches, kayaking, paddle-boarding, are all just no more than 10 minutes drive away. Or walk to the Seymour river across the street where you can go fly fishing.
Only 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Grace Li

We are a family of 4 that enjoys living in what we think the best part of Vancouver. North Vancouver's natural beauty is unsurpassed in my opinion and we love being hosts to anyone that come to visit.
We speak both English and Cantonese and we have two boys that we homeschool. I have a background in interior, graphic, and web design while my husband Vince–the vintage car & cycling enthusiast– the ex-mechanical engineer, is in project management for a large video gaming company based in Burnaby, Vancouver.
As a family, our motto is to eat well and live simply. We thrive on family time, lots of traveling, visiting and supporting our local farmers and small growers, camping adventures, and volunteer work.
Before our boys came along, both Vince and I had traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and South America. We love learning about other cultures, their customs, and most importantly their food! We love being host to visitors and sharing all the amazingness this area of our world has to offer.
