A Little Slice of Heaven on The Waupaca Chain O'Lakes

This property is on beautiful Taylor Lake in Waupaca, Wisconsin. The cabin has a recently updated interior and exterior. The cabin has central air. The cottage sits 60 feet from the water and the views of the lake are great. The frontage doesn't allow for swimming but a quick kayak or paddleboard trip will get you to a beautiful sandbar.
The property is next door to the boat launch on Taylor Lake so the weekends can be busy. Enjoy a day boating, paddle boarding, canoeing, etc., there is so much to see and do on the Waupaca Chain. A firepit is available for having a campfire at night. There are two wonderful restaurants within a short drive/boat. Harbor Bar has great food and live music and The Wheelhouse is known for their wonderful pizza. Behind the wheelhouse is the infamous "Scoopers" and has the best ice cream in town. Nothing cools the sunburn like a fresh scoop of Scoopers Ice Cream. Tom Thumb mini golf is also a short boat/drive away and is a great time for the kids. Waupaca has everything you would need as far as grocery and stores and the hub is only 2-3 miles from the cabin.

Great location with wonderful views

First time visit to the chain o'lakes and we loved it! It was so fun to be able to walk to the darling village of King but also enjoyed the ease of this VRBO with the ability to use the pontoon boat at our leisure. We will definitely be returning!

Very nice lakefront cottage. We were very happy with the property and amenities. Owner was extremely responsive. Chain of Lakes is a beautiful area!

Onaway Island

We stayed at this location for our daughter's wedding. It was a rather nice stay and extremely close to where we needed to be. The weekend was very busy so there wasn't much time to enjoy what one would normally do for a weekend away.

Great Place

If you're looking for over the top luxury this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for what the chain is meant to be this is the place. Great location, view, and everything you need for a cabin vacation on the lake. I have been coming to the chain my entire life and this house has the exact same feel as my family's old house(still on McCrossen). I would highly recommend staying here if your idea of a chain/lake vacation is 90% outdoors with easy access to the water.

Smilin’ Despite the Rain

Though we had far more rain and clouds than sun, we found our stay on Taylor Lake relaxing and enjoyable. Our home away from home was clean, comfortable and equipped with all we needed to make the most of this lakeside retreat. Our host was available to answer all our questions and even called to check that all was well. A Little Slice of Heaven is truly that!

Taylor lake cottage

Clean property.Easy access to lake; just a few steps. Nice outdoor deck. Dock for a pontoon. Washer in dryer, on-site. Air conditioning and garage a plus.Across the lake is Harbour restaurant.Easy to get to, down fall next to public boat launch, gets congested. Older home and small shower.

The property was very close to the water which was nice but is located next door to a boat launch so it’s pretty loud. The owner was very responsive with any questions I had.

Overall stay

Location was great and being able to rent the boat was a huge plus. Was disappointed that we had to make the beds and cobwebs all over the house and that they didn't provide bath towels or mention to bring any. Also didn't enjoy his friend stopping over twice to get something from the garage.

Cozy and Comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay! Really appreciated having the kayaks to explore the Chain of Lakes and all it's natural wonders. The water is crystal clear and is surrounded with beautiful white pines and a variety of trees. The cottage is very comfortable inside and outside. We enjoyed the larger screen TV in the living room, the well equipped kitchen, and the cushioned patio furniture on the deck, and the fire pit. Thank you for making this available to us! Cottage is rustic

Rustic cottage, needs updates. Felt cupboards could have been organized. Refrigerator needs to be updated.

Hello Deborah thank you for the feedback, we will be doing some updating this offseason. We have organized the cabinets since your stay and added new glassware and coffee mugs. We are ordering a new fridge as well!

This cottage was exactly what our family was looking for! It was cozy, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing and fun getaway on the Chain. The cottage was spotless, well-maintained, and even more spacious than we expected.Each morning, we enjoyed sipping coffee in the sunroom/dining room, out on the back deck, or out on the dock overlooking beautiful Taylor Lake. One of our favorite experiences was taking the kayaks out for a peaceful paddle on Otter Lake, which is just around the corner from the cottage. We highly recommend it!From our 10-year-old to my senior parents, everyone found something to enjoy, and the cottage perfectly accommodated all of our needs. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable lakeside retreat.

We grew up in the area and moved away for college. We spent a few weekends on the chain and were quickly hooked. We spent 1.5 years on the pontoon out there and knew we wanted to have a family cottage on the Chain to help us escape from our hectic lives.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This property caught our eye because it had so much potential and just wasn't given the care that it needed. I grew up restoring homes with my dad and working for uncles in construction so the home just seemed like a great fit. With both of us enjoying live music we spend many lunches at Harbor Bar across the lake listening to their live bands and always have a great time.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The morning sunrises are great across the lake. We have spent many mornings drinking coffee and enjoying a quiet morning before the kids wake up. The lakes are the clearest in the area and there is so much to do on them. The night time around a campfire is a great way to unwind from a long day and the views of other fires around the lake are beautiful.
