Regarding the stairs, there is a historical explanation: this apartment is located in the Latin Quarter, one of the oldest and most central parts of Paris. Many buildings here, including ours, were built centuries ago with narrow staircases. When elevators were invented, there simply wasn't enough space to install them. Parisians are very accustomed to this and often see it as part of the charm of living in a historic building. That said, we wouldn't recommend this type of apartment to guests who need or strongly prefer an elevator—newer buildings are generally a better choice for that. On the other hand, guests who don't mind the stairs often tell us that "the view is worth the climb," and we're glad you were able to enjoy everything the apartment and neighborhood have to offer. The Latin Quarter is indeed a lively and vibrant area, surrounded by universities, cafés, and many cultural attractions — a true reflection of Parisian life. Most of our guests enjoy the atmosphere, and thanks to the double-glazed windows and curtains, noise is generally not an issue. Please note that the apartment’s size is exactly as advertised. We understand that some of our American guests are used to larger spaces, but this is a typical size for a Parisian family apartment. This home is perfectly suited for a family with children or two couples of friends. While it can accommodate up to six guests for short stays, larger apartments may be more comfortable for longer visits. Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your experience.
