We really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. It felt like home. Secluded but yet conveniently located to Houghton. We hope to stay here again.

Upstairs was pretty good. Adding screens on all windows and doors would be great for cross ventilation. Providing fans or AC would be very helpful for hot summer days. Replacing musty carpet would be great. Adding soap in the showers would be great. Adding a hair dryer to both bathrooms would be great. Clean drain in downstairs shower.

Stayed for a month snowmobiling. Host was very responsive. It’s a great location with easy access to downtown Houghton and a great view looking down on the Portage Canal. The house was clean and exactly as I expected from the pictures. I’m hoping to be able to do it again next year!

This house is in a great location, close to everything. It was a great home base for our adventures this weekend with enough space to spread out at night. We loved the campfire pit and having two bathrooms!

Houghton in October

The property was was as advertised and we had a great time. The house is secluded on a quiet street so it was great for our dogs. The property owner was very responsive to a couple communications we sent him. We are renting it again in February for a few days.

Graduation Stay

Son Graduated from MTU. We were able to stay here and participate in all of the activities we chose. Liked being remote and being able to overlook the Portage river

Convenient location, quiet area, and nice view.

We stayed at the property while dropping off our freshman at MTU orientation. We really enjoyed the split level house layout, we could put the boys downstairs and have the upstairs bedroom(s) and bath to ourselves. Nice large kitchen, and family/living room. Enjoyed being able to catch some of the olympic coverage on the Big TV, good wifi too.. Location is quiet, and short drive 2 mile drive back to downtown & shopping. Great family stay location.

The property was clean for the most part. There were lots of burned out light bulbs. The kids wouldn't use the downstairs shower because of the rusted drain cover.

Great place for family and friends!

This house was fantastic! We had my son's wedding and I wanted our family to be able to stay together in one house. This house made it possible. We had enough room with the 5 bedrooms and 2 baths. The living room provided lots of space and I was able to make us all breakfast every morning. The house is secluded and has an amazing view of the Portage. We even got to sit out on the deck. We would stay again!

Winter Carnival

It was our second time renting this property. We love the location and it has enough room for our dogs to run around outside. The street doesn’t get much traffic. If you rent this place in the winter you should have a four wheel drive vehicle. Overall it’s was perfect for us and I would rent it again.

Houghton trip

The trip was sad because it was for my brothers funeral but it was so nice to be able to stay together with my remaining brothers and sisters in the same house. We haven’t stayed in the same house for over 50 years. The house was not as modern as the houses we live in but reminded us of our grandparents houses in the houghton area where we spent our vacation every year when kids.

Peaceful and Perfect, Easy Access to Town

We were pleasantly surprised at this space. It is perfectly nestled in nature on a quiet road that was not highly traveled. There's a lovely sunrise view of the canal and town is just a quick trip down the hill. This space was well kept (although the fridge wasn't too clean). We loved the yard and thimble berry patch (mom picked them daily). We would have loved deck chairs and a fire pit, but do understand why there weren't any. It appears from the visitors log that most staying here are Winter visitors. ;-) Nonetheless... this was WAY better than a 5 day stay in a hotel with toddlers!!! Thank you for sharing your space! We'd visit again!
