Starting June through early August 2023, Marco Island, like the rest of southern part of the US, has been experiencing a record-setting heatwave. The temperature from mid to late afternoon does go up inside but from about early evening to mid-morning, it stays at the set temp. Improvements are coming mid-August 2023 including new ductwork and insulation in the attic which will help the system's efficiency. It's important to note that AC systems in Florida are rated to maintain a 16-19 degree split meaning that if it is 100 degrees outside and it is 81-84 degrees inside, the AC system is operating as designed.

We receive a lot of reviews and this is the most comprehensive I can remember getting. Thank you so much for providing a detailed writeup of the house from a guest's (and dog owner's) perspective. We appreciate you leaving the crate for future guests and thank you for already booking your return visit for 2022. We look forward to hosting you and your family again!

Regarding the pool and landscapers, we do not control their schedules so they come at different times of the day and sometimes different days of the week depending on the weather. As of this review, the current schedule has the landscaper there every Thursday and the pool person there every Friday. Glad you took advantage of everything the owners have provided for guests' use and they pride themselves on making sure the house has just about everything a guest could want/need for an amazing stay. Regarding the noise sensors, they are there to protect the neighbors’ right to the peaceful enjoyment of their homes as well as protect our guests from false claims and from getting a visit/fines from the police. Most guests are appreciative of our attempts to protect them and their hard earned money but clearly you feel differently. Also, your version of events is inaccurate to put it kindly and I “have the receipts.” When the sensor alerted me, the noise level, which is on a scale from 0-100, ranged between 80-100 from 5:00-5:45pm. I had never seen a sustained level of noise that high before and since I live close by the house, I decided to check it out firsthand to make sure there wasn’t a problem with the sensor. I parked one block away, which was at least 150 feet from the backyard and I could hear plain as day Sister Hazel’s “All For You” blaring from your “very small Bluetooth speaker” as well as your voices engaged in “normal conversation,” which were well above the 66 decibel level set by the City of Marco Island. Suffice it to say, had I not alerted you, you would have gotten a visit from the police. To be clear, the sensors only capture noise levels, not conversations, and are in compliance with privacy laws, VRBO and other booking platforms. Regarding the AC, your review is the first I am hearing of any issue. The AC was operating just fine and I will explain why for the benefit of those reading this review. HVAC systems are designed to maintain a 16-20 degree temperature split meaning if it is 95 degrees outside, which is what it was during your stay, 75-79 degrees is what you can reasonably expect an HVAC system to cool to. Considering you had 6 people in the house, were likely cooking, opening and closing the slider to the pool letting in the hot, humid summer air, the system performed exactly as it was designed to. The owner set thresholds to prevent guests from cranking down the temperature, freezing the condenser which would leave you without AC for 1-2 days of your stay. Had you reached out to me, I could have explained all this and worked with you. Regarding the cleaning, you also misspoke: we ask guests not to leave more than 2 loads of laundry for the cleaners. Let me end by saying this property enjoys fantastic reviews on multiple booking sites we take pride in making sure it is clean, well-organized and being responsive to our guests during their stay.
