The Family Christmas House

My daughter, her husband, and their two children stayed here for the holidays. It was a perfect house for them, and it was convenient for the rest of the family to visit.

Overall, it was a great stay in a lovely home!

Our stay was great :) Vivian welcomed us with a basket of goodies and was a gracious host - she obviously wants people to have a lovely stay. When we asked about what cooking tools we'd need to bring from home for our Thanksgiving plans, she even said she'd reimburse us to buy the few things we'd need and leave them in the house for the next guests. The house was well laid out and comfortable. Flicking the fireplace on with a switch on rainy days was such a nice perk. We only used the master bed, but it was quite comfortable memory foam. The other two beds seemed to be standard mattress and box spring setups. For others with dogs: the long garage was great for fetch on rainy days when nobody wants to walk! The yard is fenced, but very small - perfect for potty breaks, but plan on using the many walking paths and parks Portland has to offer for exercise. The yard is slightly sloped, definitely tending toward mud in the rain - we were glad we brought extra towels for muddy paws from home as the only towels in the house are white. A few stepping stones would have made picking up after the pups easier, so bring shoes with good traction. CHECK THE BATHROOM FLOOR BEFORE GIVING YOUR DOGS (or kids) FREE REIGN, there was bleach cleaner tucked discretely in the corner of the powder room, not a problem for all adult human groups, but not something you'd want accessible. The only "problems" were minor annoyances. The tv is a bit far away from the sofa, so if you need to read closed captioning, it might be hard. The sofa is daybed style so you can't really move it closer as it needs to be against a wall. The windowsill is right at head bonking height, be careful leaning back on the sofa. The driveway/garage would work for small commuter cars, but are definitely not made for larger cars. We tried parking our midsize suv in the driveway when we arrived and scraped the sideview mirror trying to open the door. It was obvious getting into the garage itself would not be possible. We parked up on the main street and walked and it wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time. She sends the real address closer to arrival, I assume so only people actually staying there will know where it is, which I can appreciate - address was hard to see at night, it's the middle house on the left. Garbage bags would have been great to have provided. Overall a great experience - the few annoyances paled in comparison to all the wonderful perks!

Overall good stay for family!

Very nice and clean place to stay. Our’s was a short trip and my family enjoyed staying at this place. Two minior things, property address needs to be updated in vrbo and parking space is a little narrow for big cars. Overall nice stay and would highly recommend.

A nice to stay if you have pets

But be prepared to pay top dollar. The problem generated by the pet(s) is that there are very places that allow pets, so you end up renting expensive places that are big enough for a family of six even though you only need a place for three. This is a very nice place and we appreciated the help and support of the management.

Very nice house!

Very nice house. Equipped only with bare essentials, like we had to by salt and pepper. The really only complaint I have is when I asked about the distance between Vivians house and the house other family members rented she said it was 9 mins. That was the convincing detail but it actually was 40 minutes away which was a big bummer. We loved the “Little Store” within walking distance! Couldn’t start the gas fireplace either

Great place to stay.

The home is very spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and the owner was always accessible and responsive. Plenty of linens and towels with exceptionally comfortable mattresses. Convenient location for access to downtown Portland by car and also easy access to outlying areas of interest.

Brand new large house in beautiful neighborhood

The house is brand new in a beautiful area the neighborhood is so quite. The backyard is perfect for morning breakfast or coffee and a drink at night The kitchen is will equipped and nice island the house is breezy and cool in the summer The master bedroom is so huge With two large windows and very large bathroom Vivian was so quick answering any questions via calls or text messages Thank you Vivian for your help and patience If we are back in Portland will difinitly rent it again👍

Beautiful House

This was a great house for our group. Very clean and we loved the location. Property manager was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed it and would stay there again.

Very spacious!

My softball team rented this house and never felt cramped. The rooms were all decent sized and spread out. The neighborhood was quiet and The Little Store was cute. Vivian did a great job at communicating and appreciate her sharing her home with us!

Nice home

The owner seems to genuinely want your experience in the home to be a good one. But they still have some work to do to make this place feel cozy. The beds are all hard, couch not soft. Quality of pillows is minimal. But home has a nice layout, good quiet neighborhood with small local store walking distance. Close to downtown and overall convenient. Just need to invest in comfort. Thanks for the time in the home.

Wonderful home with large rooms and a kitchen that is perfect for entertaining.

We enjoyed this spacious home over the Christmas Holidays. It was warm and inviting, and perfect for entertaining a few friends. Close to everything and in a very new, pleasant area.

Just what we needed

I loved staying in this beautiful house. Six people occupied this home and never felt cramped. The host, Vivian, was really accommodating. The maid informed her of a few supplies that were running low and Vivian dropped by the next morning to replenish without us even having to ask. We came to explore Portland, so it had just what we needed. For us, the beds were wonderful, the showers were great, and a TV and dinner table on the first floor was enough for us. I would recommend this place.

Relaxing and very comfortable

This property is a gem the owner is very accommodating. We were close to everything Portland has to offer. Food, music parks ect..the house is in a very quiet neighborhood and is family friendly. I look forward to coming back to this property in the future.

Beautiful and spacious new house in a convenient residential neighborhood

Very comfortable beautiful new home in a cozy neighborhood. Since the house is brand new and only had a few renters, I expect it will improve even further once it gets a little more lived in and more supplies/instructions accumulate but it certainly had all the basics. The master bed was amazing (my husband and I have bad backs but slept wonderfully on that mattress). Plenty of room for our family of 6. Even without a kid in a pack-n-play anymore, I remember always searching through the photos/reviews to see if we could use a closet as a bedroom for a little one and this house definitely has a perfect closet in all 3 bedrooms if you need it. The layout of the house is slightly different from the photos used on the site but represent the place and furniture well. Owner was easily reachable and helpful with any questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Portland vacation & family wedding!

This beautiful new home accommodated our family of 5 nicely. The home is located in a very quiet little neighborhood away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. It is very close to the Japanese and Rose gardens. We visited the falls, Columbia River Gorge and the coast which were all day trips. It is tastefully decorated and provides towels, linens and adaquate supply of kitchen accessories. The one thing it was missing is some patio chairs to sit and have morning coffee. Would definitely stay here again!

Better than the pictures- amazing upscale home

This is a brand new subdivision. Very upscale, beautiful, and safe neighborhood. Meticulously professional landscaped lawns are abundant in this new planned subdivision. When you enter this home you immediately enjoy an open floor plan. The immense kitchen and island are a home chef's dream. Everything is here for you to make a family feast of memories. This kitchen is super sized. Bigger than my own kitchen at home. Brand new furniture adorns this brand new house. No detail was missed. Half bath on first floor. Top floor has 2 great sized bedrooms and a shared bigger bathroom. The master suite is really huge with a master ensuite to match. Amazing bathroom. Separate vanities, big sunken tub, very spacious walk in shower. Was very convenient to everything. The owner of this property, Vivian, is the most professional, endearing, and accommodating hostess I have ever dealt with. She was available for every question and always seemed to give the best recommendations for places to eat. When I come back to the area I will only stay at her home. Staying at her house was a wonderful experience. She was the best find in Portland. Book her house, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Vivian for everything you did for us. You went over and above and it was so needed and much appreciated. We will be back for sure!!
