We loved our stay! Janis and John were so welcoming and made us feel so at home. The house is spacious and comfortable, the views are stunning (rabbits and birds all around), and it is an easy drive from trails, beaches, and places to eat. We would love to come back!

This beautiful home was built by Janis and John more than 30 years ago. It's quiet with stunning view of the grounds and the sea. We could have stayed here all summer.

We enjoyed our stay in Sooke! Communication with our hosts was excellent and were greeted with freshly baked muffins. We enjoyed walking and picking fresh blackberries in the property. It was a quick drive to downtown amenities.

Quiet and well appointed. We met John and he was super helpful and friendly. Beautiful property and be prepared to drive to restaurants or most beaches.

We had an amazing weekend at this place. Everything was clean and the view of the ocean from the windows was breathtaking. There were rabbits everywhere and we saw deer too.

Great family spot

Lovely hosts and spacious accommodations with beautiful ocean views. Sooke is a great location to base nearby activities (kayaking, hiking, etc.).

What can I say - our stay was all we hoped for. Super friendly and helpful owners, well equipped, located close to the sights we wanted to see. Highly recommend to others.

Beautiful place in Sooke

Perfect as a point of departure for hiking, beaches, and all attractions in southern Vancouver Island. The hosts are exceptional, caring, and kind. The view from the grounds is as advertised. We enjoyed peace and quiet, and wonderful baked goods from our hostess.

John and Janis are fabulous hosts! So friendly, and the property has so many lovely little personal touches! The views are truly spectacular, and the space is both airy and open, and cozy and warm at the same time. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes for cooking simple meals, and the beds are very comfy.

Carin House :)

We had a fantastic stay at the Carin house! Plenty of room and great views- lots of amenities and great hiking nearby. The owners made us feel like family- highly recommended!

Otter Point Oasis

The property was incredibly beautiful, and exactly as advertised. John and Janis were incredible hosts, and made us feel so at home. Would recommend this property (and them as hosts) to anyone!

John was very welcoming and super helpful. All in all, the property was very cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect, 1 hour to Victoria and the same to Port Renfrew. We would definitely go back.

Beautiful, quiet vacation home

We really enjoyed our time at Cairn. Such a serene location and the home is beautiful. John and Janice were so friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back for another visit in the future!

Just wonderful!

We spent three days at John’s and Janis‘ place and it was one of our best experiences! The furniture within the house is very cozy and the view is just exceptional!

Having previously stayed at another unit on the property, it was an easy decision to come back for a subsequent trip! The property is wonderfully situated near Sooke, making for easy day trips to either Victoria or Port Renfrew. The space itself is quiet and cozy, and makes for a lovely place to wind down the days. The view from the patio is also breathtaking and an excellent spot to have a morning coffee or tea. John and Janis are super communicative and excellent hosts!

Stay at Otter Point

We stayed with our two adult children and enjoyed the fact that the house has lots of windows from which we could view the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Good proximity to beaches and to Sooke. Everything was pretty much as described in the property description

Quiet place outside of Sooke

Overall, we had a great stay. The location is very quiet, about 10 minutes outside of Sooke. The description was accurate and worked well for our group (2 adults and 2 kids). The hosts were very helpful and quickly responded to all of our questions.
