Spacious 5 bedroom home with living room, dining room, day room, tv room and full kitchen. Every bedroom has a bathroom, with toilet, sink and shower. Wifi is available along with Hulu Live and streaming availability. The Mansion is ornate throughout with magnificent oak wood work and hardwood floors. The second floor is fully carpeted throughout for comfort.

Property is located along the Allegany River and minutes away from the Allegany State Park, Seneca Allegany Casino, and a short drive to Holiday Valley Ski Resort in Ellicottville, NY and Peak & Peak Ski Resort in Clymer, NY.

We loved every minute!

We were thrilled to stay in a lovely, elegant, comfortable mansion while we visited nearby Little Valley for the Village of Knives event. The house was a delight - from its spacious rooms, to the comfy period-style furniture, to all the conveniences we might have wished. We were in and out with no trouble, and were especially delighted with the very comfortable beds!

Property Cleanliness and Unprofessional Host

The property was not cleansed properly. As we drove up the driveway the grass was not well maintained there were weeds and overgrown grass everywhere. When we arrived coming into the side entrance my son almost fell due to a crack in the stairs and low night time visibility. It was dusty from the moment we entered especially the upstairs living space. The carpets were not clean and needed to be shampooed and vacuumed. In room 1 the top sheets had stains and hair particles. There was no outdoor space neither was there a "water view". The entrance to the side door had garbage. When property manager Cheryl was made aware of our dissatisfaction she was rude and unapologetic she then told me to "stop whining". Overall she was not a gracious host, I will say the house was very beautiful but it was in need of a professional cleaning.

Was more than expected

The location was great, commuication with the hosts was great! I was suprised at how comfortable the beds were. Great accomodations for a family needing multiple bedrooms.

Western New York Enjoyment

The best complement I can share is that I am a return renter of this property. Came for the skiing, but brought spouses this trip. The downstairs is conducive to gathering which we did during our 3 night stay.

Great Stay!!!

We, five couples from Canada, stayed in this house for a 2-night 3-day golf trip last weekend. We were a little worried because it was an old house, but that worry was off the mark. The living room, kitchen, and each rooms were spacious enough. The internet was fast and there was nothing lacking. It was clean and good in every aspect, and the owner Justin also satisfied us in many ways with his quick responses. All 10 of our members were satisfied and promised to come back here next year..

Grand house in Western NY

Step back in time at this beautiful vintage mansion. The exterior stone and brick work is beautiful. The interior woodwork and inlaid floors are amazing to see . Very comfortable for a larger group. We had a great stay!

Perfect place for family or friends to gather!

This house was beautiful and so unique! The front porch was a favorite place to sit and visit in hood weather. Inside there are plenty of open spaces for visiting in several areas as well! All the bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. It reminded me of an old rooming house back in the day! I would definitely come back again, but I’d bring some kitchen tools for cutting etc.

Kick 'n Gliders X-C Ski Club

The ratings are from our first visit a year ago. We cancelled this trip when the host didn't send check-in instructions and we could not get into the house. A phone call the day before and upon arrival could not be completed because the voicemail box was full. A call to an alternate number was also not returned, at least not for 2 hours at which time we decided to cancel. Vrbo helped with this process and we are awaiting a refund. We loved the house last year, but after this experience, I'm not sure we'll go back.

hometown ski trip

It was an honor staying in an historic home. A surviving icon of Salamanca, NY Victorian architecture. I hope this home continues to be maintained and enjoyed. superb blend of historic architecture and Native American culture.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful time in Salamanca. The house was wonderful, and the owners were very prompt in communicating and answering the few questions we had. Overall a great stay.

A nice vacation

Four older women needing a 2 day getaway. Are trip was strictly relaxing, no cooking involved. We really enjoyed the front porch having coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening.

Affordable Mansion Near Allegheny

While the Salamanca area itself doesn't provide a whole lot for tourists, the Tarry Here Inn provides a reasonably priced, early 20th century mansion for rent a short drive away from Allegheny. Property Management is very relaxed and easily accessible next door. All-in-all, a good option we'll probably use again!

Spacious, Beautiful Home!

Absolutely gorgeous house with lots of space. The beds were very comfortable, and each bedroom having a bathroom was a plus. The house was very quiet inside; we did not hear anything outside the house. Sitting on the front porch was a great way to end our busy day. The host was most helpful and provided information about the area and house. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful home in a great location

This beautiful old home was perfectly located for our ski trip, and had all of the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Check in was easy and when we had questions, the owner responded very quickly. The sun/plant room was an added bonus!

The house was clean and comfortable. There were 7 of us. It got a little crowded in the kitchen at times. But everything we needed was there, and then some. We loved the original woodwork throughout the house.

Better than Ellicottville

If you appreciate older, elegant homes, you will enjoy this property. Many architectural details that are not found even in older homes. I am from Wheeling, WV, which still has many Victorian era buildings- this house rivals many I am familiar with back home. Came to the area to ski with friends and have stayed numerous times in Ellicottville. Holiday Valley MAYBE 20 minutes away. It was nice no to have such space without the traffic and crowds. Nice dining options in town with local clientele. An added bonus was a side porch to store ski equipment right from vehicles. Would have worried about bringing skis in for overnight storage with those beautiful hardwood floors.

Ski Weekend Getaway

Very nice old house, set up more like a bed and breakfast. Perfect for groups of people getting away for a ski weekend at Holiday Valley, and I am sure very nice any time of year.

Property needs work. Areas of disrepair.

Bathrooms need towel racks. We had to hang removable hooks to hang bath towels. Many walls need work ie. Patching, paint ect. Stuff everywhere needs organization. It’s a great house with plenty of space and bathrooms but seems neglected over time. Kitchen needs cookie sheets or pizza pans.

Small town hidden gem

A "walk back in time" with all the modern conveniences! The house has been restored to its original splendor and is simply a joy to return to after enjoying local side trips.. Conveniently located to restaurants, the casino, golf courses and Holiday Valley. The bedrooms are quaintly luxurious and the living area, with its magnificent woodwork and period correct furnishings and decorations, are unbelievable. Yes, our group came away very impressed. The owners take care of the smallest details which made our stay even more memorable.

Beautiful home with plenty of room

We had 8 adults and had plenty of room! Private bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group! The house is full of beautiful woodwork and historic charm! Would stay there again!
