Welcome to Serenity, a cozy beach vacation getaway located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, NC. We are proud to offer:

* non-smoking, pet-free cottage
* 1/2 mile walk west of the beach
* close to Nags Head and all your favorite attractions
* 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (sleeps 11)
* ground floor entrance with 1 queen master suite, 1 kids' room with pyramid bunk, and 1 full bathroom downstairs
* 1 king master suite, 1 queen bed, and 2 twin beds, with 1 full hall bathroom upstairs
* fully stocked kitchen

Fun in the sun

We enjoyed the stay, the property and the location. Easy access to the beach. We had 2 minor issues that the owner addressed immediately that did not affect our stay in any way. They were great to work with!

Beautiful spot near the beach

We booked this location as overflow for our family reunion, but it ended up being so lovely that people wanted to stay here instead! Communication was clear and supportive - such a great find!

Perfect spot!

We love the location of this property! A quick bike ride to the Greenway and a short drive to the beach! Plus it is in the middle of excellent restaurants and attractions. Super clean home and has every thing we need for our stay, plus some! Spacious and roomy. We had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave! We will visit again!!

Weekend trip

Great place with plenty of room for 3 adults and 4 teenagers. Wonderful backyard with fire pit, hammock swings and a new hot tub. Very friendly and responsive host.

A week in Serenity House OBX

Wonderful homey feel to Serenity House with beautiful amenities. The backyard is just paradise with the hot tub, fire pit and swings. The owner is very good about communicating. We absolutely loved our stay.

Great place

It was spacious with room to spare! Host was attentive and easy to work with. Everything you need is at the house. We wish it wasn’t raining so we could’ve made use of the bikes, hammocks and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.

Rick's Family Vacation

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Local restaurants, beach and intercostal area for the small children. The accommodations were also absolutely what we were looking for. They provided a large family area, separation so people could have their own private space, go for a bike ride or just hang out in the yard.

Amazing property and host

First vacation in 3 years and it was worth the wait. Lauralee was awesome and her home was beautiful! My daughters and I had the best time of our lives and we now love OBX!

Family & friend vacation

Large clean home with a lot of room and enough beds for my family and friends. Located in a quiet qnd safe neighborhood. A lot of things available for the family to use like bicycles and beach equipment.

Home away from home

This home has everything you need and more. It truly feels like home. The location is perfecr close to everything. The host was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. You will not fo wrong staying here.

Serenity is owned by Dennis & Lauralee, who have 4 beautiful children. We are entrepreneurs from northern Virginia, who have businesses in real estate investing, home building, HVAC contracting, and short term vacation rentals. We also homeschool our children and enjoy traveling and spending lots of time outdoors.

We purchased and renovated this home in 2011. We loved Serenity because of its location on a quiet street, in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood. During the spring of 2022, we decided to give our beach home and backyard a brand new look and had so much fun bringing it back to life! It is really important to us to help other families make special memories here as we have and to create a luxurious vacation experience that our guests want to revisit year after year. Having this home has given us a unique opportunity to practice hospitality while offering a wonderful, serene vacation getaway for families and friends who want to enjoy all that the Outer Banks has to offer.

We are proud to offer a beautiful hot tub, an outdoor sectional sofa, a dining table with 6 chairs that are nestled under a shade canopy, and a fire pit surrounded by 3 super comfortable Nags Head Hammock swings. In one corner of the yard hangs a cozy hammock as well as a clothesline on the opposite fence for those wet swim suits and beach towels.
Attached is a garage, with washer and dryer and a fun outdoor entertainment setup with a TV, comfortable seats, beach toys, beach chairs, 2 beach carts, 5 bikes, a wave ski (surf kayak), a Blackstone Culinary Griddle, and a canoe and kayak in the backyard, perfect for viewing the gorgeous sunsets over the sound just west of the house. On the front porch are four cozy chairs, the perfect place to enjoy that early morning cup of coffee as the sun comes up over the distant ocean, quietly flooding the waking neighborhood with its warm glow. Towels and linens, as well as other personal amenities are included.
**PLEASE NOTE: The guest making the reservation must be at least 25 years old and must be among the group staying at Serenity. No Smoking cigarettes, cigars, e-cigs, vaping, or marijuana anywhere on the premises. No pets allowed. $500 security deposit hold required upon booking.
