Texann is a charming house and we thoughly enjoyed. All of us grew up and live on cattle ranches so have an appreciation of some artifacts...spurs, chaps, saddles.I wonder about the history of the original house. Thank you for sharing.

This house has a fully stocked kitchen - you will not need any additional utensils or anything. There are two full bathrooms, but only the downstairs one has a shower. This was not an issue for us - just an fyi. The yard is large and spacious, but it is not completely fenced, so you will have to keep pets on leash.The house is cozy, comfy and it is in a nice location. We enjoyed our stay!

David, a clean house dressed out in proper Hill Country cowboy style is exactly what we aim for, and hearing that it landed that way for you means a lot. The décor in that place was put together with real care, and guests who appreciate it tend to notice the smaller details too, the vintage pieces and the little nods to ranch life throughout the rooms. If you make it back, the Hill Country is something else in the spring when the wildflowers are up. Hope to have you again!

We had a delightful get-away!!! This house was cozy, clean, and conspicuously Texan!! Everything worked well. The setting was close to town, and the museums were exceptional. We will do it again!!

Great location, very fun decor, though the listing stated that the upstairs bath included a shower and this is not accurate; there is a tub only. Overall we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Western Way Back!

Absolutely fabulous old western decor and feel. So much great reading material and it truly felt like we were staying in our own private museum.

Great stay

The house was charming. Our 6 year old grandson loved it. The only thing I would add if I owned the property would be a privacy fence to shield the back yard entertainment area from the street. Other than that it was perfect! Would definitely rent it again.

It was a lovely ranch style home with the best western vibes! We really appreciated all of the space, amenities, and and outdoor area to enjoy. The only cons to this place is that it's a little too far off Main St. and infront of an abandoned property that's an eye sore. (Not to mention the stray animals that make their way into the property and do their business because there's no fencing) Also, communication was confusing! So many different numbers/people communicating different information was a pain. Overall, we enjoyed the property! We hope to return some time.

This is a very unique and enjoyable property that is fairly close to downtown Fredericksburg. It is about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute ride to the Main Street. To those of a a certain age for whom the song “ Happy Trails to You”Has a certain significance, then this is the VRBO for you. And for anyone who enjoys western themes this home is a museum to the American Cowboy and Cowgirl and all those western heroes of the Golden screen. For any family with kids who love the west. They will also enjoy the home. It is very comfortably furnished and the beds very comfortable. One of the bedrooms is a tribute Roy Roger’s and Dale Evans. The kitchen has every thing you need to cook meals including cast iron skillets (a rarity). But the cowboy cocoa bar is a real treat. This home also has the best Coffee bar I have seen. Comfortable front porch. The only down side for us was the weather was cool, but ther has been a fire ban in Gillespie County since October and you could not use the fire place or the fire pit in December.. one caveat. You can only use Dura flame logs in the fireplace when the fire ban is lifted. Loved our stay and would love to return .

Walter, the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans room gets more love than just about anything else at the property, and you found the cast iron and the cowboy cocoa bar on top of it. Happy trails, indeed. The county fire ban did shut down both the fireplace and the fire pit on you in December, and that one is out of our hands, so we now flag the current ban status in the pre-arrival note instead of letting folks plan a cool evening around a fire that is not happening. Come back once it lifts, lay in a couple of Duraflame logs, and take the cocoa out to that front porch. Our returning guests always get 10% off, so that is yours the next time you book with us.
