Property is close to downtown, Field of Dreams, etc. Everything was clean and ready when we got there. Beds were comfortable. Host was easy to get ahold of. The house is old so not cosmetically perfect but good enough for what we needed. I would recommend for a baseball/softball weekends.

The property was not maintained and tenant ready. We were disappointed upon seeing the unmowed/weedy yard and cobweb covered patio furniture to squeaky/wobbly (unsafe) ceiling fans and hair on blankets. Shower drains poorly. The 9.6 satisfaction rating is misleading. The nightly fee is appropriate. The host fee is inflated. Please do better.

This is an old historic house decorated in fun baseball motif. We had a little problem with the plumbing on arrival but it was promptly fixed to full satisfaction. The kitchen was fully stocked. The location was walking distance to breweries and Main Street.

This house was a perfect place to stay for our long weekend visiting the field of dreams movie site. We walked anywhere we needed to go for meals and entertainment in Dyersville. Great location, minus the occasional train passing.

Excellent location to Field of Dreams!

Was a very nice stay. Quiet neighborhood and walking distance to many restaurants. Centrally located to downtown and not far from Field of Dreams. If we're ever in Dyersville again, I'd definitely look to stay here.

This was so perfect! We were in town for a baseball tournament. We walked to town, the basilica, the museums... it's right where we wanted to be. And it wasn't a hotel 30 miles away, woohoo! The beds were comfy as was the living room furniture. Towels were abundant and and the rooms were clean. There were no paper products so it was hard to reheat in the microwave. I had to wash a roasting pan before we could use it as it was left in the oven, still dirty. We also could not locate the supply of garbage bags or laundry soap to start washing bedding upon our departure. The neighbors were so friendly and offered recommendations for dinner, to which we were not disappointed. The few negatives could easily be overlooked because of the comforts and amenities this property offered. If we ever return to Dyersville, we would happily rent this lovely home again.

Great and reasonably priced

Nice, older well maintained property. Everything is within walking distance for restaurants/shopping/etc. We all had our own rooms and the washer/dryer were a great feature to use. We went to field of dreams and tractor museum. Great weekend get away with family! Thank you!

Lovely Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying here! We were there for a few baseball games played at the Field of Dreams, and so this was the perfect place, in both theme and location. Our toddlers loved running around the first floor, and miraculously slept great here too. And we enjoyed that the Field of Dreams DVD was available and we watched it twice. Altogether, very cozy and cute place.

Located near the field of dreams site, this clean house has a neat theme that reflects the proximity of the field of dreams site. Much information about that and other points of interest was made available by the host. The downtown location made it easy to walk the short distance to shops and restaurants there. It was also the perfect base for exploration of further away cities like Dubuque, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Guttenberg and Galena, all within reasonably easy driving distance. All in all, with so much to do it’s definitely highly recommended and a repeat visit is in order.

The listing stated occupancy of 7. Unfortunately all but two of those are child size. We were there for an adult baseball tournament and it only sleeps two non married adults in the queen and king. The 3rd room is a short child’s bed, the additional beds I assume are the plastic futon and maybe the couch? We were planning for 5 players to stay and could only sleep 2. This changed the costs of the trip dramatically from splitting 5 ways to splitting 2 ways and having 3 hotel rooms in Dubuque. It also caused timing issues having to travel back and forth to get everybody to games. The listing should state an adult capacity and a child capacity. It greatly affected our trip.

Our trip!

We loved the home! Couple suggestions, if I may! As a senior, that little broken step at the porch is definitely a problem, as is the loose railing upstairs. Perhaps place those non-skid things for rugs under the rug in front of the sofas, as well as the small rug at the back door. That one slipped right out from under me when I went outside. Don't worry, I did not fall!! What about small mirrors over the dressers in the bedrooms? I borrowed the little one from the bathroom and stood it up on the dresser, so the others could still get into the bathroom. If I may also suggest working on the outside curb-appeal? This home has amazing potential!!! I'm actually wondering if maybe it is new to you?!? However, none of those things would keep me from coming back if I had the opportunity. You were so kind when I called you re: the air conditioning - you obviously care about your guests!!! My daughter loved the corner shelves built from the doors! She wants to try making one for HER farmhouse!!! Thank you so uch for your hospitality!!!

Field of Dreams baseball tournament

We stayed at this property 2 nights for a Field of Dreams baseball tournament. For us the positives outweighed the negatives and we had a very nice and comfortable stay. Positives:1.) Cold central A/C2.) Very comfortable couches and beds and plenty of pillows and blankets. Comfortably sleeps 5 in beds and maybe 7 if you use the couch futon3.) Cold freezer with plenty of ice cube trays to stock coolers4.) Very close proximity to fields5.). Large capacity, newer washer and dryer 6.). Lots of fresh fluffy towels of various sizes providedNegatives:1.). No exhaust fans in bathrooms and upstairs bathroom window (with shower) won’t open.2.). Shower temperature was difficult to control, you get either hot or cold3.). Tub not the cleanest and had staining from a leaking faucet. I would not want to give a little one a bath in it.Other observations: 1.). Only 1 kitchen garbage bag provided- bring extra if you think you’ll need more2.). Bring paper towels / Kleenex. And laundry detergent. None provided. And only 1 dishwasher pod was provided.Restaurants - we tried Ritz and Mixteca. Food at both were very good.Overall we liked the property and would stay at it again.
