Beautiful views

We had a great time in the house, excellent views and saw Elk in the backyard several times! We loved the jacuzzi location and it was clean and seemed new! Great space in the house for our littles and for the adults to enjoy. Only setback was arriving for checkin and the cleaning crew was still there and the house wouldn’t be ready for another 30 minutes and we arrived an hour after the set checkin! That is unacceptable for guests to arrive to without any notice from the property management company. When I complained after our stay they gave $50 off our stay, the money doesn’t help the annoyance. I just hope it doesn’t happen to someone else. The cleaning crew said they weren’t told there was anyone checking in that day. O well, we live coming to Sun Valley and enjoyed the house, jacuzzi, home theater, pool table and great dining spaces for our group.

Pros: Overall very nice quiet house with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Sauna and Jacuzzi are very nice. Cons: Garage occupied with owners cars - description promises 2 garage spaces available No Christmas tree in the house - we had to go and buy one Kitchen cabinets/drawers full with owners old/Brocken items

What a view!

6 girlfriends from high school got together for their annual celebration of friendship and we’re super comfortable in this beautiful house. The hot tub, the pool table, and the spacious rooms, not to mention the view from the living room, really made our stay memorable!

Beautiful yard with waterfall

This is our second year to spend 2 weeks in this home. I spend most of my time in the beautiful yard full of aspen, spruce and Douglas fir. The water feature is the highlight. The house is clean and well equipped although it needs updating. My husband’s favorite is the dedicated home theater room.

great potential

the house was very nice. plenty of space and very comfortable. however, the hot tub was unusable, the controls did work, no easy to use instructions----in fact, after we were there for a day and wanted to use the hot tub, vacasa had sent a tech to add water and chemicals to the spa. this should have been handled b4 we got there. the garage had about 20 bags of trash from previous clients, and it did smell, it remained there for our entire stay. countertops were not clean. no dishwasher pods for cleaning. Older TV's without instructions on how to use streaming. found other garbage under one of the beds, drink bottles and energy bars. this house could be so much more for the clients....... great potential.

Disappointed in Desperado “Dream”

Let me first start with the positive
. Loved the neighborhood and community. Nicely situated between Hailey and Ketchum and convenient to the bike path. Unfortunately, the house itself was less than ideal, especially given it’s premium rate. It felt average and basic at best. Our stay was in July with temperatures in the 90’s and the air conditioning was virtually useless. The exterior spaces and furniture were lacking and extremely dirty upon arrival. The most disappointing aspect though was the poor service by Vacasa. We paid a large amount of “service fees” as part of our total cost and they provided virtually no service. We reached out about an exterior door that would not lock
. No reply. After spending a small fortune on this rental for our two week stay, we requested a late checkout of 2hrs that was dismissed and denied
.. I’m fairly sure most (if not all) of the interaction was done with a machine. All in all, I feel that I’m being a bit generous at 2 stars. I will not go back to this house and I will most certainly never use Vacasa again. Disappointing!!

Decent place

We like the property its was fun and close to everything we wanted to do, had a great theater typer room and pool table. The only real bummer is the AC did not work at all. So we had to open the windows and the screens had some holes that allowed bugs to come inside.

Nice place - with a few shortcomings.

The house set up and location was great! And generally the house was ideal for what we were doing - getting together with our kids. But this is not an inexpensive place to stay and so it was disappointing to see the following a) it wasn't clear that the hot tub had been serviced in a while (the ph was very high when we used the provided strips so we were not inclined to even try to get into it) b) the kitchen faucet was loose with the whole spout wiggling around - and the water would not turn completely off unless you very carefully played with it c) the provided information book referred to recycling but there was no information on how to recycle (when I checked with Vacasa they said they weren't sure this place even got recycling service) and it was obvious that past guests had left piles of recycling in the garage hoping it would get hauled away - which it never was d) one of the provided bikes had a flat tire (we checked and it was not just low on air) e) The information book indicated that Netflix was available but we never saw a way to access it f) the wash machine was supposed to be filled with preloaded detergent (the instructions indicated other detergents should not be used with this machine) but there was little detergent in the machine and none available to load it with and f) perhaps most irritating was the fact that the house had this weird security system which we did not use but the security system kept beeping to tell us there was a problem with the smoke detectors somewhere - not that this problem was apparent in any way to us but the beeping was quite irritating. We pointed most of these issues out to Vacasa and while someone came out to look at this, nothing changed and the problems continued. It was a busy week in Ketchum so that wasn't totally surprising but we did expect a few less irritants given the nightly price of this house. On a positive note the house is a good set up for a group of people and it stayed remarkably cool despite having no air conditioning (nights were cool and we slept with the windows open and closed everything up and pulled the shades in the morning.) The kitchen was pretty well equipped with utensils (the microwave was ancient but it served it's purpose) and the media room set up is awesome (electric recliners and a good sized tv and a pool table). The decks were also extensive and a great place to hang out since they were surrounded by trees and got shady later in the day - although it was odd that there was one small outside table with a few chairs (maybe 4?) The beds were comfortable and the furniture was nice. Generally I would not have expected these issues with a rental that goes for $1000 per night (albeit during a prime rental period in this area.)

Wood River Wonder

The house itself is great ..immaculate and full of amenities. The setting and visitors ( Daily Mule Deer and Birdlife ) seals it. Only amenity missing was a microwave.. but it has one now That’s how much we loved it. Likely to go back.

Wonderful home in a quiet, serene area!

Our group of 7 ranged in age from 16 to 75. The home was amazing and met all of our needs. The hot tub was perfect for the 50 degree weather and following a hike on Bald Mountain earlier in the day. Our teenagers thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and the big screen tv and sound system in the game room. The home was immaculately clean. The only things we'd change --- the home lacks a microwave and free standing fans in the bedroom for extra air circulation at night.

Great Place!

We stayed here over a long weekend, with 4 couples, and it was great! The house is spacious and set on a really beautiful property. It was clean and easy to check in and check out. We really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and sauna. The beds were comfortable. It was close to both Hailey and Ketchum, with an easy drive to get into town. Would definitely recommend this place! There was no microwave, which was no problem for us, but some people may want one.

The house is a bit odd in layout but it fit our needs very well. Not necessarily homey but if you are a big party this is a very good place. Very clean, good heat, nice hot tub (though would be better off a public space than a bedroom), okay cooktop, kitchen well equipped. We would have appreciated use of the double garage as we had a large SUV and it was tight getting it into the single garage. A few more rugs would help too.

Beautiful, quiet escape!

The mid-valley location is out of town enough to be relaxed and quiet and close enough to easily go any where! Down valley to fish, up valley to hike, across the highway to mountain bike. Just perfect! Also, super comfortable beds, living accommodations and kitchen. I'd stay there again in a heart-beat!
