Sisään astuessasi tunnet heti yksitasoisen asumisen helppoutta ja avointa asettelua. Korkeat katot ja suuret ikkunat antavat runsaasti luonnollista valoa, joka lisää tunnelmaa. Girls Trip

My girl friends and I were needing a little trip away for a few days and we came across this gem. This was the perfect size for the 4 of us, even with 2 having to share one of the rooms. It was clean, and had all the basics thag you could need. The hot tub was great, the location was perfect - although I will say the photo of the house showing how close you are to the tuning was deceiving. We thought we could walk right through the back yard to the tubing hill and we were a lkttle disappointed to see a fence and massive hill. The only way to walk to the tubing at Wisp is down the road - which would be about 10-15 minutes.There were a lot of thermostats which made the temperature inconsistent throughout the house but we managed and got everything right based on the instructions that were left for us.All in all the place was great.

Winter Getaway

Had a nice stay at Happy Landing. Very close to Wisp and the amenities that McHenry has to offer. The home had comfortable furnishings with a well appointed kitchen and the hot tub was lovely! Don’t forget to bring your own trash bags/laundry/dishwasher detergent as the management company provides the minimal possible amount of each.

Family weekend getaway

Great place for a weekend with our teenagers. At the foot of Wisp and close drive to everything in McHemry. Everyone had their own bathrooms. Loved the hottub. Decorated beautifully for the holidays. We would love to return again. Would give it a five except the fireplace didn’t work when we got there but it was fixed the next morning.

Perfect for family of 4weekend in snow

This was a great house for a long weekend tubing and trekking through swallow falls in the snow. Still decorated for Christmas it was warm and cozy. Only issue was having 4 pairs of wet boots and a small entryway we were trying not to step on the carpet so another mat or rag towel would be good. Overall excellent in location and price.

Such a cute and cozy cabin. It was decorated so nice for Christmas. Perfect location just by the slopes for snowboarding. We had so much fun and would love to come back.

Great Place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Happy Landing! The check in and check out process went smoothly. The property was very clean and fit 6 people comfortably. The home was decorated nicely and the place felt very cozy overall. It was also a fantastic location being close to just about everything you could want in the deep creek area! We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for a great girls trip!

Get Away

We enjoyed the property. Although it rained during our stay, we were able to enjoy the State Parks and the local restaurants. Deek Creek is always a great place to spend a relaxing week.

What a nice place to get away

We had a wonderful time at Happy Landing. The house had a well stocked kitchen that made preparing our meals a breeze. It was i. The middle of all the parks we wanted to see. My family and I enjoyed the fire pit. Thank you for being our home away from home for our Maryland getaway.

Would have been very nice except for some big issues

I was disappointed to hear that the dishwasher wasn’t working when they called me the day before we arrived. I assumed they didn’t have time to fix it before we arrived, but the guest book indicates it already wasn’t working as long ago as 3/25. I think they could have had it fixed by then. It wasn’t just broken, though, something - maybe the disposal - also leaked water all over the kitchen floor every time we hand washed dishes. Also, one of the toilets leaked the entire time. Both of the recliners in the living room are broken, one to the point of being unusable. And the hot tub water smells like mildew. These points were also all noted in the guest book entry from 3/25 as well. The cleaning crew is not very thorough at all. I used Clorox wipes to wipe everything down — and it all had a layer of filth on it. The light switches and the kitchen counters were particularly dirty. I’m not sure why they aren’t being particularly through during Covid. If it hadn’t been for the compilation of all of these things, it would have been a nice house. I recommend that you check and see if these things have been taken care of before booking. If they have been fixed, it will be a lovely house for a getaway.

Perfect home for winter fun!

My family, including 5 kids, really loved our stay at Happy Landing! We enjoyed snowtubing, snowboarding, and a horsedrawn sleighride in nearby Oakland. It was the perfect place to have as a homebase, especially for visiting Wisp. We loved the hot tub in the evenings. The area got nearly 20 inches of snow while we were staying, and we were impressed by how quickly the roads were treated and how well they were maintained. The neighbors are also lovely. Our dog really liked the place too (such a nice touch to have dog bowls available in the kitchen!) We weren't able to figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace, but we didn't try very hard. We have nothing bad to say about this wonderful home and property and look forward to visiting again!

Nice House within Walking Distance to WISP Ski Lift

We found the house to be very clean with nice amenities (fire pit and hot tub). It was easy walking distance to a nearby lift (<10 min). The kitchen had all of the items needed. We had to get our own basics such as olive oil, vinegar, etc. There were plenty of extra towels and they were very fluffy. I would say the the items that need improvement are putting a good doormat outside as the deck tends to get icy. Also, the house needs new pillows. I used two and they were not firm. I would bring your own if you stay here. It is a very cozy place, but wish there were recessed lights. Also, the place was advertised that it sleeps 8, but we found it could sleep 7 and one smaller child. There is a two-seat couch that could be used as a bed for a kid under 12. We would stay here again. Thank you.

Great property

I rented via HomeAway which I DON’T recommend at all. Rent via Raleys vacation rentals instead. HomeAway has conflicting information regarding checkout time and process. The home. My friends and I stayed there several years back before they put an addition on which added another full bath and bedroom. It’s in a great location, was very clean, kitchen stocked with all cooking utensils needed. The twin beds aren’t comfortable but the other two beds were fine. You are close to neighbors and with the new homes built in the other side of the road, a once fantastic lake view no longer exists. I did see a black bear walking down by the lake when I took an early morning walk with my dog. That was a surprise. A bit scary but obviously everything worked out as I’m writing this review. ; ) When we stayed before there were no directions on how to start the fire place. This time there were directions but we still couldn’t get it lit. Saw the pilot light spark so not sure if owner pays for gas or not. However, the owner has created a really nice fire pit area so we just used that. If you’re looking for a place out in the country away from things, this is not it. So much traffic on the road in front of house you can’t sit outside, even in the dark of night, and just listen to the sounds of nature because of all the traffic. The home is close to shopping and dinning and wisp. I would definitely stay here again whenever I planned to come to deep creek. I rated communication with property manager a one (1) star because system made me rate it. I’d have chosen N/A if that was an option for I didn’t speak to any person for reserving, checking in or checking out.

Amenities of a Home with a Wispy view

Happy Landing has all the comforts of home while being situated right next to Wisp Resort and just a few miles from the local parks and Deep Creek Lake. We enjoyed each and every aspect of the property and the town. We soaked in the hot tub, had coffee on the front deck and the kids ran amok at Wisp Resort. We saw a family of skunks and a bear crossing the road after a day hiking to Muddy Creek falls - the highest waterfall in Maryland. Don’t miss your chance to relax at Happy Landing!

Great location, perfect for a small family

We truly enjoyed our stay at happy landing. It was the perfect place for our family of 4 and to make it even better, it's dog friendly! It was located on the same road as wisp and, even though we did not have lake access, we could see the lake from the front deck.
