Astu pääovelle etukanellasi kalastamaan tai nauti upeasta näköalasta kuistilta ja porealtaalta oleskellessasi tässä viihtyisässä joen rannalla, jossa on AC, firepit, kaasutakka ja poreallas. Lapset nauttivat matalasta osasta lähistöllä tai leikkivät tasaisessa pihassa, kun taas aikuiset heittävät linjan. Vain muutaman minuutin päässä historiallisesta Mast General Storesta ja yhä suositummasta Valle Crucis -puistosta on edelleen kätevä historiallinen keskustan Boone, Blowing Rock ja Banner Elk.

Etsitkö Valle Crucis -ranta-hyttiä, joka on rauhallinen mutta silti kätevä kaikille? Tervetuloa Bridgepoint-mökiin, joka sijaitsee aivan Wataugan joen varrella. Olitpa halunnut astua pois kuistilta kalastusta ja kahlaamista varten, tai vain rokottaa tuntikausia kuuntelemalla joen rullaa, tämä perheloma on sinulle! Kätevä yhden tason asuin- ja litteä piha on sekä lapsiperheille että isovanhemmille. Mikä parasta, olet vielä vain viiden minuutin päässä historiallisesta Boonen keskustasta ja muutaman minuutin päässä Blowing Rockista, Banner Elkistä, Blue Ridge Parkwaysta ja isoisän vuoresta.
Kun lähestyt mökkiä puussillan yli, katso vasemmalle ja näet todennäköisesti jonkun, joka hyödyntää suurta taimenen kalastusta tässä joen osassa. Vilkaisu oikealle ja saatat nähdä yhden harmaista haikarista, jotka usein kulkevat tätä venettä - he kalastavat myös!
Sinun ei tarvitse luopua joenäkymästä, kun menee sisään - avoin oleskelutila on näkymä joelle. Viileinä päivinä voit nauttia tulipalosta mukautetussa kaasutakissa rentoutuen miellyttävässä sisustuksessa tai nauttia elokuvasta taulutelevisiossa. Avokeittiö, jossa on kaakeloitu laskuri ja backsplash, tekee ruoanvalmistuksesta nopean, jotta voit palata ulkona enemmän High Country -seikkailuja varten.
Aivan tärkeimmän olohuoneen vieressä on kaksi puupaneloitua makuuhuonetta. Mestarilla on king-vuode ja televisio, jos haluat herätä uutisista tai säästä. Toisessa makuuhuoneessa on ihana puu- ja rullatyöpöytä. Ylimääräiselle vieraalle on myös vuodesohva olohuoneessa.
Aamuisin suosittelemme astumaan ulos ranskalaiset ovet katetulle kuistille kahvin kanssa ja asettumalla kuistin keinuun, kun katsot, kuinka sumu nousee joesta. Aamiaisen jälkeen pää vain pari kilometriä tiellä ja käy alkuperäisessä Mast General Storessa. Tämän jälkeen, miksi ei lopeta pikku deliä ja poimia joitakin voileipiä tai viipaletta hienoista jälkiruoista, vedä sitten suosituille Valle Crucis -puistoon piknikille. Lounaan jälkeen perhe voi valita toimintansa - nauttia kävelystä tai pyöräretkestä päällystetyillä poluilla, anna lasten leikkiä keinuilla tai hyödyntää toisen kalastusmahdollisuuden - puisto tarjoaa sekä joen pääsyn että varusteltu lampi lapsille kokeilla, elleivät he yritä saada kiinni suurista härkätahoista! Sinä iltana, takaisin Bridgepoint-mökissä, kävele pihalla joelle ja nauti! Jalat kipeä koko päivän tutkimisesta? Vain istua joen rannalla ja liota ne viileään veteen. Kiven läpi kulkee matala osa, jossa lapset voivat leikkiä, tai heitt��ä rivin syvemmille osille ja nähdä, voitko syödä illallisen. Ei ole mitään sellaista, kuin grilliä poltetaan illalla. Muista säästää aikaa myös kylpytynnyrissä.
Jos aiot ottaa kiinni Appalachian valtionyliopiston vuorikiipeilijöiden jalkapallopelistä - aivan oikein, ne, jotka olivat Sports Illustratedin kannessa - tai päätyivät puistoon Rockin taidetta puistossa tai vierailulle Tweetsie Railroadiin tai rinteisiin Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain tai letkut Hawksnestissa, tämä mökki tarjoaa erinomaisen lähtökohdan. We had a lovely relaxing stay. We loved the proximity to the river and the ability to hear it from the porch. Having the hot tub and fire pit gave us different areas to relax in. The cabin is on the corner next to the bridge but although it was pretty busy during the day it did not affect our enjoyment of our stay. We got plenty of waves and the evenings were quieter. The cabin had all we could ask for and we enjoyed every minute. Would definitely come back!!

We enjoyed our stay, the cabin well equipped, front river view, wild live animals around (deers lol! so cute). A really great place to relax, spend time with family and be in contact with nature. Definetely a place to come back.

We really enjoyed the peaceful stay at the Bridgepoint Cabin!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to make the week away feel like home. The road was a little close to the cabin but we got used to it after a while. We will stay again!

Cabin Review

Cabin was comfy and clean. It was conveniently located to all the things we like to do in the area - Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, gem mining, Grandfather Vineyard, and more. Next time I'll look for a cottage a little further away from the bridge where folks stop to fish. This cabin's front yard is a popular fishing spot/bridge, so we didn't have front porch / hot tub / camp fire/ chair-sitting privacy and quiet.

Cozy Stay

Very nice cabin. While secluded, quite a bit of road traffic; which was surprising. We did not have a chance to use the hot tub; though it looked very nice. A little disappointed in the fireplace. It did not seem to work (gas - not wood fired). Pilot light was lit, but could not find any controls to turn it on / adjust the flame. There was a remote, but that did not operate.

What a hidden gem

What a cozy little cabin. Coming in from Boone, the road gets a little interesting before you reach the cabin. Paved road, curvy, but yo u def. need 4WD if it gets snowed over. The cabin is exactly how it is pictured. The river backs up to the property and is peaceful to listen to. The hot tub is also an added perk. On the inside, the house is large enough to seat two families--esp with the loft. My two boys, wife and I (and dog) had plenty of space. The evenings were quiet and I also had the best nap I've had in years. I did not bring my rods to fish, but there were a ton of trout hanging out under the bridge. Just very peaceful. We will be back. Thanks to the Blue Ridge staff for being so courteous. Thanks for having us.

Slightly disappointed

We enjoyed our time in Valle Crucis despite feeling slightly disappointed in our accommodations. Our cabin was dark, the lighting was very poor throughout and the furnishings were fairly worn. We like to cook all of our meals and we found the kitchen to be under equipped as well as difficult to clean - pans needs replacing, knives dull, oven knobs / buttons hard to adjust and the countertops and table top were very textured and difficult to wipe down. Needed more coffee mugs too as six of us couldn’t enjoy hot cocoa in one sitting. Sleeping was interrupted for all of us with the number of drips, ticks, clicks and other various sounds that came from heaters and outside the cabin. Two of our kids slept in the loft and woke on day two with many bug bites. We did get a beautiful snow and enjoyed walks, hot tubs and the fire pit outside - the river was lovely. Owners may want to pay a visit so they can check on a few of the shortcomings if they haven’t been recently.

Cute cabin in a great location

Overall we had a great stay in this cabin. The inside was clean and cozy and the beds were comfortable. The ladder to the loft is very steep which was fine for our teenagers but I wouldn’t put young kids up there. There were a few maintenance things that didn’t bother us too much (ripped looking carpet between rooms where one floor was replaced and not the other, a few cracked bathroom tiles, no light on the side of the porch). Our biggest complaint was the hot tub smelled a little off and looked a little murky and one of my kids ended up with a rash at the end of the week. It also was very difficult to control the temp. It would get too hot if left on when not in use then take hours to cool enough to use it. Also we paid $25 for a bundle of firewood and 2 fire starters. The wood was there but no fire starters. We actually had to make a late run to Walmart because we couldn’t get the fire to start. Otherwise it is is a great location (about 20-25 min to almost all the of cute little towns in the area. The creek behind the house is pretty. There is also a really nice park less than a mile down the road with nice paved paths for walking and they have weekly concerts on the summer. We would definitely return, hopefully the hot tub would be repaired by then!

Overall the property is nice.

The property listing is rather misleading, as it mentions a/c and heat. There is no central air conditioning, or heating. I couldn’t imagine going here during the summer. The a/c is wall units in each room. While we were there, 2 were in an error state and the one in the smallest bedroom was running. Unfortunately, we checked in when the weather was in the 70’s. It was very stuffy, I’m not sure if this is due to the location, the lack of air flow or the cabin hasn’t been visited in a while. I had to look up the part number to figure out how to use the units. They ran for about 4 hours after that, then went back into error mode. As we looked around, the first thing that greeted us was a envelope from the cleaning crew. I’m use to those, that is not what bothered me. However this one had writing on it - “Cleaner gets $X from fee”. That is tasteless and confusing. There were several cobwebs around the living room and on the windows. There are small handprints from a child all over the tv. The overall look and feel is clean, however when you look into it, it’s not. The location is nice and exactly as the pictures show. What they don’t show, is the bridge that cars drive on at all hours of the night. I understand cars need to get to places, but with the main bedroom right by the road… it’s rather hard to get a good nights sleep. I would recommend this cabin when it is not too hot, or cold. As there is a quilt on each bed, with no further bedding. A recommendation for future guests, you need to put the a/c instruction manual in the welcome book. The welcome book is very helpful with things to do and places to see. The living room furniture is very comfortable. Overall the cabin as a whole is very nice. There are just a few issues that could be addressed.

Our stay!

We loved this cabin and our stay with the exception of just a couple of things. First, the decor is gorgeous! Full of bears, wonderful ambiance and it has a comfortable feel!! The master bed is super comfy, everything was clean, fully stocked kitchen - they even have spices!! There’s a small bridge and creek below the cabin which is so pretty. Nice furniture outside to relax and just be. There is a hot tub but we didn’t use it. It was pretty warm for our stay. Now, for the not so great... If you’re big on the clothes you bring, you should know there is no space to hang them. None. The closet in the master is packed full of mattresses, blankets, pillows and who knows what else. There’s a hutch in the master and after seeing the stuffed closet, you think, “oh yay!” No. It’s stuffed full too. I was a little salty about that. There is no closet in the second bedroom so I just didn’t wear my dresses to dinner. The air conditioners are not very efficient. They’re not window units but it’s not central air. There is one in the washing area to cool the entire open floor plan (which we loved, btw) that includes the kitchen, dining and living room. The other is in the master bedroom which did keep it cool with the door closed BUT, the condensation dripped all over the carpet. It made the carpet squishy wet so I was constantly cleaning that area. The air unit in the second bedroom kept it very cool as well. I want to give this a 5 because we had such a wonderful time and really loved the decor, layout and the sweetness of it all but, no closets were disturbing to me. I’m feel like all that junk stored in those closets should be removed but then again, I dress nice and I’m somewhat of an organizing clean freak. The cabin’s bathrooms were small but so cute. We made it work. We would stay here again! Thank you so much to the owners for a great little break from the busyness of our lives!

Cabin was comfortable and clean. Property is old and in somewhat disrepair. Kitchen is marginally equiped. Jacuzzi cover is very difficult to take off and put on. Front porch furniture is lacking and uncomfortable. Overall was ok for 2 people and a short stay.

Overall the stay was lovely. Close access to the river and the hot tub were a lot of fun. There’s also a bar barn through the field across the bridge that was a lovely place to adventure. Only cons were we requested an air mattress which was not there, the mail toilet was finicky, and a nail in the porch sticking up. Maintenance did come and fix most things though.

Two night stay

Place was old in the tooth. On the conner of bridge so you heard everyone with a load pickup truck, motorcycle going to work or coming back. Not worth the money.

Wonderful home

We loved staying here for our spring break week. We enjoyed the bedrooms and the two older kids loved the loft area. The home was clean and well maintained, aside from some sub floor issues in the hallway but that didn't affect our stay. The hot tub was nice and we enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the deer and fishermen. The area was nice and quiet. I didn't realize how close by the road and other homes would be, but it was still very quiet and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Nice cabin on a river!

Great little cabin. We bought our dogs and stayed for a week and skied at Sugar mountain. Good location to skiing both sugar and beech. And close too Boone. River was great. Only a couple minor things: Hot tub cover is very hard to get back on taken completely off, and not as much privacy as we originally thought (road is right behind the house). Otherwise good stay!

Great location!

Loved the cabin and location! Right on the river with beautiful views. Close to the ski resorts… we went to Sugar mountain (15 minute drive or so) very close to Boone and the amenities. Our dog loved it and enjoyed the multiple deer running nearby! The hot tub was great! We did stay during a weather event and it was nice to see the snowplows and brining trucks going right by. The roads were fine! Tough to see the debris from the hurricane… happy to bring back some life to the area!!! We did try to fish but no luck… ecosystem changes understood but we gave it a try anyway. I will say the cabin advertised a gas grill… the grill was present but the propane tank was not. The towels were sparse… 4 total for the 3 of us… we used the washer and dryer frequently… plenty of paper products for a 3 day trip. I did bring some but didn’t need them. Also brought laundry detergent which I used but didn’t need the dish detergent. All in all, we had a great time!

Budget Property

The property had some nice features that aligned with the pictures, but a few details impacted the overall experience. For example, there was a trash bag near the entrance that appeared to have been disturbed by an animal, and the house had a noticeable musty scent. The bed linens and comforter were quite thin, which could be improved for added comfort. Additionally, the floor outside the two main-floor bedrooms felt unstable and may need attention. While these aspects might have been less significant at a different price point, they stood out given the premium rate.
