This Pantops private suite is located on historic land, next to Old Ordinary, one of the oldest homes in Charlottesville - just 10 minutes from downtown and short drive to wineries. The apartment has two queen bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a jetted tub, full kitchen, dining area for 6 people and a cozy living area with a work desk. Views overlook beautifully landscaped gardens and seven acres of land. This property which started as a Tavern in the 1700's now serves as an extended stay space (>30 nights). Enjoy the TV and high speed internet. There is a nearby basketball net for shooting hoops or you can just enjoy the views from the porch or patio.
Amenities include Central A/C & heat, large TV, Wifi Internet, Full Kitchen, Washer/Dryer, Hardwood floors, jetted tub and shower, laundry room, coat closet, large desk with drawers and bookcase filled with local authors. Within 10 minutes of downtown, UVA and 15 minutes from Jefferson Vineyards and Monticello.

Aviary Get-a-way

Beautiful apt with many amenities. Kind, thoughtful hosts. So enjoyed our time here after a long drive from TX. Would recommend the Aviary to those who appreciate a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

Best VRBO experience

We truly enjoyed our 5 week extended stay at the Aviary. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations--the comfortable size of the common areas, kitchen and the 2 bedrooms. The total experience felt like being in our own home. It was made even more so by our gracious host. Looking forward to being there again.

The Aviary is a piece of Heaven

Hostess made our stay so delightful during this hectic time for us. Small issue with an appliance was IMMEDIATELY addressed. The unit is ‘style with dignity’ to quote my spouse, from one not easily impressed. We hated to leave . . . Cannot state enough how pleased anyone would be with The Aviary!

A true sanctuary

This property is a true sanctuary! Everything about it is perfect - the setting, the location, the decor, the views, and the host is a gem to work with! It was a wonderful weekend get away - and we didn't want to leave. This was a girls get away weekend - but we will be back again (with our husbands)! Graduation weekend

The Aviary was the perfect place to stay for our daughter’s graduation from medical school. It is conveniently located on a beautiful property. It is light and spacious with lovely furnishings. We took full advantage of the kitchen and dining area which comfortably sat 6 people.

Amazing guest cottage filled with warmth and charm!

This two bedroom guest house is situated atop a garage and located on a very beautiful property in Charlottesville, VA. It is very close to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate and other adjacent tourist areas near Charlottesville. The space is exquisitely decorated and the hosts have organized it so that everything is readily accessible: there is a diagram for accessing kitchen appliances; a binder with suggested things to do and the Wi-Fi password close at hand; the place is also stocked with books, puzzles, and arts and crafts supplies - every detail was taken into account. The hosts were very kind and hospitable, and immediately responded to our email queries. I would readily rent the space again if I l ever return to the Charlottesville area!

Perfect Getaway!

The Aviary was a perfect getaway for our family. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well stocked. The owner left lights on for our late arrival and orange juice and coffee cake for breakfast the next morning. Only a short drive to Monticello, downtown Charlottesville, and the Shenandoah National park. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations and would love to come back for a return visit.

The Aviary Experience

This rental is immaculate and charming. The beds are comfy like home and have quality linens. Charming paintings of birds decorate the walls in little vignettes throughout. The Aviary is located perfectly close to downtown and within beautiful drives to all the best vineyards! We loved our stay!

Great location and beautiful setting

The Aviary is a bright cozy place perfectly situated to all the Charlottesville area has to offer. Plenty of room for 2 couples. Half hour or less to wineries, Monticello, downtown, and everything else. Butch and Watts are gracious yet completely unobtrusive. Perfect long weekend!!
