I have visited Lewes beach for years but had yet to stay in town until now...this historic and charming property gave us the perfect "heart of Lewes" experience! My friend and I were in town for a girls weekend and the Coastal Delaware Marathon and wanted to be able to walk to restaurants and boutiques in a comfortable private space that would feel like a home away from home. The house is quite spacious and nicely laid out whether you need a little sitting area for peace and quiet or a big eating and living space for everyone to hang out together. It is decorated characteristically and endearingly of both an updated maritime/beach house and a historic East Coast home. We woke up and took a coffee walk and explored a living history experience courtesy of the Lewes Historical Society. We did so much shopping that we were able to stop at the house to drop off our goodies in between. After the marathon, we spent the afternoon hanging on the beach, sitting on the porch people-watching, and walked over to Agave for our post-race libations! As a mom of 4, I would also highly recommend this property as well for families...great bunkbed set up, lots of board games and a great TV family room, and a few steps from Kings for ice cream and the playground!
