Wonderful First Stay

My husband and I stayed here for four nights during our first trip to Key West. We found the hotel very charming and relaxing. It was located centrally on the island and in excellent proximity to main attractions and dining (if you can walk 0.5-3 miles, you may not need your vehicle during your stay). I would like to give a heads up that if you stay here, you should understand that you cannot compare historic buildings with modern ones and if you are used to dwelling in a historic building, you come to anticipate what may be viewed by some as slight negatives (i.e. water temperature fluctuations, lack of sound proofing, the noise of floorboards moving, smaller bathrooms, etc.). I only bring this up because some of the reviews allowed these elements to negatively impact their stay and I just don't feel that it is fair to expect modern construction benefits. That being said, the common areas and our room were beautifully and functionally designed. The decor was mix of French colonial and coastal in my opinion which we found very peaceful. We very much enjoyed having coffee on the deck, reading in the sitting rooms, and swimming in the well maintained pool surrounded by lush plants. We enjoyed the grounds so much that we actually skipped eating dinner out one night in exchange for making a meal in. We hope to be back someday soon! Thank you for an incredible stay. We truly feel that staying at this residence significantly impacted how great of a time we had in Key West.
