Glacier View Log Cabin

Relax and enjoy hand-made wood-working and your own private glacier view in this historic Alaskan log cabin home.

Perched on a hillside above the Glenn Highway, just a two hour drive from Anchorage, Alaska, the Glacier View Log Cabin is a perfect mountain retreat for 1 to 7 people. You can prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, or dine at our local lodge across the road.

Enjoy stunning views of the glacier and river valley from inside the cabin, or on the deck.

The Glacier View Log Cabin has a wood-burning stove with plenty of firewood and kindling available for your use. The cabin has TV, DVDs, and a quality wifi connection. In addition, you'll find a radio tuned to the local station, and a propane grill in the yard, so you do not need to bring charcoal.

This cabin has a fully-equipped kitchen, 3 queen size beds, 1 single bed, and 1 indoor bathroom with toilet, sink, and lots of hot water for the tub and shower.

Friendly Alpine dairy goats live on the property, along with an assortment of outside cats.

The large loop driveway easily accommodates multiple vehicles and snowmachine/ATV trailers. Please note that 4WD is needed to access the driveway in winter (the driveway is plowed, but it is steep.)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very clean and the view was amazing. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and was very quiet. Jennifer was very kind to offer help if we needed anything. We personally aren't used to road noise, so the traffic noise was the main issue for us, since the cabin is located right on the Glenn Highway. We did enjoy the goats very much as well. There was one that got up on our rental car a few times and made a few scratches on it. The scratches weren't brought to our attention by the rental car company at least. It was a good stay overall, though.

Beautiful Cabin and Views

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cabin. The views of the glacier were absolutely stunning. Whether we were enjoying morning coffee or winding down in the evening, the scenery was just incredible.The cabin itself was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed with everything we needed. It had a warm, welcoming feel and was clearly well cared for. The layout worked well for our group, and we appreciated the little touches that made the space feel special.This was one of our favorite places on our trip, and we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with unforgettable views!

Great views and comfy cabin.

I love the custom built cabins across Alaska. This one is a great example. Tons of charm inside and out. I really like the hobby farm feel nestled into the surrounding rugged mountains. Everything we needed for our meals was available and me and my fishing buddies had a great time hanging out here.

Amazing views

Perfect views of the glacier great place to have morning coffee as the sun rises. It’s obvious that lots of TLC and pride was taken in putting together and maintaining the upstairs as a guest house.

We had a great stay in a very well equipped and comfortable cabin. Everything was as described, or better. View is stunning. Lovely wood stove. Well equipped kitchen.

Great place!

Really nice cabin with big windows across the front showing off beautiful views of Matanuska glacier. And the goats! So cute and entertaining! There is a great booklet the host has put together with info on the cabin (it’s interesting history), and local hiking/excursions and dining places well stocked with everything you’d in the kitchen and bath. Clean.

Jennifer was a wonderful host. It was like magic once inside the cabin ..the views from the deck or dining table of the glacier are unbelievable. The kitchen is stocked with so many wonderful things. Sleeping in front of the wood stove was so relaxing we slept for 8 hrs. The only problem we had was finding the driveway!! The directions did not state to turn left at the HIDDEN DRIVEWAY sign. We didn't know where to turn because the was no real MP on the road. Just add that to directions and it would be perfect!!.. Thanks again Jenn and AJ

Amazing views and a cool experience

The cabin was awesome. I had never stayed anywhere that was heated by wood stove. It was very simple to use, and they left great, detailed instructions. The views were amazing. The goats were fun. Yes, they will make a little noise and will use the bathroom in the driveway. It's not a big deal though. It was funny, not annoying. The cabin is very comfortable, and there is plenty of room. It was also well-stocked. We used the grill, and they had nice grilling utensils there (something owners often forget) Falling asleep to the wood crackling in the stove was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

We loved staying here! The view of the glacier was phenomenal and it had everything that we needed! Our family of 6 felt right at home and we didn't want to leave! It was fun to see the goats meandering around.

Best view ever

The view from the window was amazing! I was tickled that there were goats on the property, until they woke us up walking on the deck! Lol. All in all, it was a great stay.

No central heat

We had a great stay at your cabin. Our only complaint is that there is no central heat in the cabin. Your property description does state that there is a fireplace and wood stove and that firewood is provided but it does not state that it is the only heat source. My real concern is that there are no directions on how to use the wood stove and there are wires hanging from it I assume to run a fan but they looked unsafe to me. We also did not see a note on how to contact you with questions. The outside temps were in the 50's and the unit mantained the heat so we did not get cold. Besides this we enjoyed the cabin and the views that it provided. Thank you.

Exactly what we wanted

The place was really quirky and we absolutely loved it. The view was outstanding and the goats were really fun. The wood burning stove worked flawlessly. Excellent value. We would stay there again.

We loved the cabin and view. Wish we could have stayed longer. Owner had kitchen items available for use, beds and pillows were comfy and everything was clean. Would stay again if ever out this way.

Family Alaska Adventure

The pictures do NOT do this property justice--The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and immaculately clean and updated. The fridge was even stocked with cold, bottled water. The view out of the front windows of the glacier and mountains was breathtaking. We all enjoyed the goats that lived on the property. This property was the perfect spot to stop and explore this area--there are multiple tour companies for rafting, hiking on the glacier, and ATV tours within minutes even though it's rather isolated otherwise. The restaurant across the street had good food and another amazing view! We will stay again if we are ever back in this area.
