Inside, you'll find comfortable, open spaces, cable TVs, a private washer/dryer, and cooling central air conditioning - all with ocean and beach views. There are plenty of appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage in the full kitchen. The living room is a great place to enjoy a movie night with friends and family after a fun day on the beach. You'll also have access to an outdoor shower to rinse off the beach sand, a neighborhood playground for the kids, and the Club Hatteras pool. The free WiFi will make it easy to perform some online research for those last-minute projects. Take a well-deserved break at the Cape here at Zebrafish.

Zebrafish in July

The duplexes are nice plenty of space for my husband and I. It’s dog friendly but didn’t smell like dogs that’s a plus. Nice location went for walks every morning. Kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as other houses we have rented.

You can see the ocean! Great location.

The home is situated in a quiet community with a few cul-de-sacs. There is no on-site swimming pool but the great thing is the beach is in walking distance, less than 200 yards but watch out for the sand Spurs and prickly pear cactus! Stay on the path, that’s the key. Beach was wonderful, never crowded and the water was perfect. The only downside I would say in this has nothing to do with the home but that particular beach spot due to the structures that used to stand there in the water you will find rusty nails here and there. The town of Buxton is a charming and wonderful place to visit, great choices for food and plenty of ice cream, very friendly staff and people. The home itself has everything you need, was very clean and the property management was very quick to respond to questions. We’d definitely stay in this location and community again!

Convenient location and well maintained property

The rental property is exactly as described. The window in the stairway has a small water leak when it rains, but it won't impact anything; you can ignore it and enjoy your stay.

Family of 4

Our family which includes two little girls always love coming to Buxton so when we found Zebrafish we figured it was the perfect home away from home for the four of us. The location of the house vs the walk to the beach was perfect especially with two little ones and the park right across the road was even better! The kitchen could have used a better selection of cooking utensils and kid friendly dishes/cups. And after a long day at the beach it’s always nice for mom and dad to relax and watch a little TV but the living room furniture was not comfortable at all!

Great family getaway!!

We travelled with our 3 year old, my mother in law, and our 2 dogs. The house was very clean with lots of extra toiletries. While the closest beach access (which is pictured in the gallery, as well as mentioned in the house description) ended up being closed off for soil contamination, we were able to find another access down the street. The home was very comfortable with lots of space for our son to play in the evenings, both inside and out. We will definitely visit again!!

The house was great, other than a few very minor things (no blinds on the doors and the outside shower was not enclosed) so a little lack of privacy there. We were a little disappointed that the listing said “pool on site” but it was a good 10 minute (drive) down the road. Other than that, the house was just what we needed and exceeded our expectations for the price.

Nice home

Home was what was expected from the pictures. Very close to beach, the pool is a community pool shared by other communities--it is about a 10 minute drive from Zebrafish. Not something we used everyday because of the drive, but when we did check it out it was nice. Be aware of the hours of operation, since it's a community pool, it was not open all the time. The outdoor shower head was broken. They had it fixed within a few hours of me notifying them of the issue. They are very quick to respond to communications.

This is an ideal vacation condo

This is the ideal vacation condo. It has minimum but sufficient amount of furniture (so not clutter). Very spacious. Just a few steps from the beach. Excellent view. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

Dilapidated!

I would not consider this unit until several items are addressed by the rental agency. I called it dilapidated in my review. There is a hole in the soffit on the right side of the building where cold air freely blows into the attic space. It can be felt in the bedroom. The gutters are falling off or broken completely off. There are tears in the carpet and sand spurs are embedded throughout the carpet in the entire unit. There is a hole in the cover on the cushion of one of the chairs. The other chairs are plastic, outdoor style porch chairs. The kitchen is lacking cutting boards and the pans are in poor shape. The non-stick coatings are flaking off and handles are extremely loose. The burners were filthy and smoked quite a bit when turned on. We also had to re install and element to get the level right. Some cabinet doors are loose or broken. The ceiling above the shower looks as though sludge is dripping from it. If it wasn't for used cleaning gloves and dirty face masks left lying around, we would have considered it as not cleaned prior to arrival. We also found a child's hoodie draped over the back of a chair. Some of the pictures in the advertisement do not reflect the furnishings in the unit. The unit is in dire need of deep cleaning and refurbishment. If immediate attention isn't given to address these issues, this units will be dilapidating quickly.

Great location but lacking a few amenities

Place was super close to the beach and was clean. Lacked a few things that would have made the trip better, such as oven mitts, trash cans in bathrooms/bedrooms, sponge for cleaning and access to a grill. Could not get the ice maker to work either which would have been helpful but overall a great trip!
