Ilahduttavasti rentouttava balilaisen inspiroima huvila, jossa on kolme erillistä paviljongia (oleskelutila, makuuhuone ja vierashuone), räätälöity nauttimaan sisä- / ulkopuolella asumisesta omassa aurinkokeidasessasi, rehevässä puutarhassa, kolibreissa, perhosissa, tukaaneissa ja kuohuviinien uimavesissä. Korkealla rauhallisella kukkulalla sijaitsevat panoraamanäkymät ovat upeat: koilliseen, Atenasin laakso taustalla Póasin, Barvan ja Irazú-tulivuorien kanssa, lounaaseen Rio Grande -laakson ja itään, Keskilaakso. Ihanteellisella paikalla aidatulla ekologisella asuinalueella, 30 minuutin ajomatkan päässä San Jose -lentokentältä, tämä hienoin muotoiltu kolmen paviljongin trooppinen piilopaikka on lähellä kaikkea mitä Costa Rica tarjoaa. Absolute heaven

This villa offers everything you could desire. Beauty, comfort, atmosphere, luxury, art, birds and lovely garden. Pool and hot tub ensure relaxation and exercise. Elias as the caretaker and contact was perfect. Plan on a few days at the Villa without traveling everyday. Would recommend seeing Poás volcano and a trip to the beach at Jaco. Both very easy in a day trip. Many very good places to eat in the town of Atenas.

Fantastic stay!

This villa was an amazing stay! The house was wonderful, with even better views. The caretaker, Elias, was very helpful and attentive. Atenas is a great escape from the touristy coastal cities. I would absolutely recommend a stay here!

Fantastic home! It is truly one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in all our years of travel. Elias, the caretaker, met us and showed us through this beautiful home. He was very fast to respond to any of our questions. The home was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well-supplied with appliances, dishes, utensils, etc. A couple of times each day the electrical transmission wires outside the property boundary made a loud buzzing sound.

Too short of a stay

We stayed 4 nights at Villa Tamarindo and it did not disappoint. From the welcome email from Joe with directions, to Elias warm greeting and villa tour, to the bonus room for yoga/reading, this villa was amazing. We had 2 couples but will likely return with our kids next time. We were blown away with the beauty of the place! A 4x4 car will be needed if you rent a car which is highly recommended. LOVED IT here! Thank you Joe and Elias!

Beautiful home on top of a quiet mountain top. Was able to see the clouds roll in and hear the birds in the treetops. What a perfect way to end our trip in Costa Rica, close the airport, yet far enough away that it made you feel like you escaped the city. Just breathtaking!

Best villa ever!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Tamarindo, and I wish we could have stayed longer. Elias was very helpful, and the property is stunningly beautiful. We even got used to the cicadas! The kitchen is very well appointed and all the rooms are quite comfortable. It was a good location for birding as well; I added several species to my life list, including a keel-billed toucan and a turquoise-browed motmot. The lock to the living room was a little sticky, and we could have used labels on most of the light controls because we forgot which controls went to which lights. That’s minor, though. We recommend this place at the highest level!

Palace in the hills

Perfect from start to finish. Great communication with the owner. The caretaker Elias is a gem. The property is meticulously cared for and very well appointed. The private lush grounds and the architecture/layout make this place special. Iguanas, leaf cutter ants, and views with high flying hawks abound. We had a great time here. Perfect for our first couple days in Costa Rica before traveling West.

What a luxurious place to have your vacation!?

My partner and I had an incredible stay here. Somehow, this rental is even more beautiful than the photos! We swam in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub, grilled, watched the sun rise and set, got to know the resident iguana and other flora and fauna - it was wonderful. This vrbo is also perfectly situated to drive to the beach (an hour away) or cloud forests (1.5-2.5 hours away). Elias the property manager was so kind to us and gave us great recommendations. We want to come back!!

Gorgeous Villa

My significant other, as well as another couple, traveled to Costa Rica for my birthday. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this villa. The views were beautiful, the villa was beautiful, and the caretaker, Elias was there to answer any questions that we had. We had a chef that the owner recommended cook dinner for us our last night at the villa. The food and his service were top-notch.

Amazing Property

I've been tracking Joe's Atenas property on VRBO for several years, always wondering if it was as fabulous as the pictures and reviews made it appear. It was everything and more! Exquisitely appointed yet perfectly comfortable, it was the ideal layout for our two couples/4 adults group. The woodwork is truly gorgeous, throughout so tastefully decorated and discreetly presented as a rental; every inch immaculate. It truly felt as if we were staying as personal guests. Elias was wonderfully helpful, too. A perfect place for the week. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing property!

Beautiful, serene property with amazing views

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this relaxing home in the hills above Atenas. The home is beautifully decorated with high-quality furniture and bedding. The kitchen is well-equipped and large. The pool was lovely and we utilized the hot tub each night. The town of Atenas is fairly quiet, which might be what you're looking for in a location. The drive to popular destinations such as Manuel Antonio or Monteverde takes at least 3 hours due to traffic, so pack your patience! I and my family would love to come back and stay at this beautiful home again some day.

Crazy Wonderful!!!

We finished our time in Costa Rica at this villa. We were greeted by the caretaker with a smile and a grand tour of the property. After time at the HOT beach area of C. R., it was a treat to have the cool breezes and pool to relax. (Reading books, napping and playing cards were our main activities.) The owner, was very responsive via email when we had a couple of questions. We didn't even leave the property, but stopped at the grocery store in town and gathered what we wanted for our 3 night stay. We will definitely be back when we travel in and out of San Jose Airport.

Paradise in Costa Rica’s Blue Zone

This was our second stay as guests at Villa Tamarindo. The property is a beautifully gated, and private villa tucked away on a hill outside Atenas inside a gated community. It’s the definition of tranquility and Pura Vida. The living quarters are well furnished and very clean. The sleeping quarters are in two separate bungalows to provide additional privacy and luxury. We really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi during our extended stays. Elias the property manager is kind and was always available and very responsive to our every needs. Atenas is a nice small town with a handful of nice restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend it. We will be back again!. Thank you for another fabulous stay!

Absolute Perfection!

If you take the time to read through each one of the 100+ five star reviews, mine will sound the same. It truly is better than the pictures even show and communication was excellent. Joe and Elias are so responsive when we needed anything. We rented a car and drove to different places each day including El Toledo Coffee farm, Tucsn Rescue Ranch, La Paz Waterfall & Gardens, Jaco and Esterello Beach. Our family stayed here for seven days and none of us were ready to leave. We truly cannot wait to come back. The views, the birds, the weather….absolutely incredible. If you are at all on the fence about whether to stay here, DO IT! 😉

Absolute 10/10! Gosh we cannot say enough great things about how stunning this property was. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had stayed our whole week here! Elias was great at showing us around and helping us when our friends left important documents even after we had left. The neighborhood is well secured, it wasn’t too hard to navigate to get to. The driveway is very steep so I would recommend a decent vehicle but it’s worth it. There wasn’t AC but we didn’t need it with the windows open and the amazing weather in Atenas. The hot tub and pool were both great and well cleaned. Having a washer and dryer was great as well as all appliances and some small pantry goods like seasonings were provided which was a nice touch. The grounds are absolutely stunning and we all wished we lived here and would definitely return! Very worth the money and made for an incredible stay!

Rockstar Retreat

We cannot say enough about our stay in Joe and Nancy's home. It was PURA VIDA all the way. Joe's description of his home was spot on and lived up to all of our expectations. We had friends that stayed down the street and they spent most of their time with us, Elias was a wonderful help throughout our trip and his wife made a truely awesome meal for our whole gang. If you are looking for peace and solitude, then this is the place for you. Between the the lush gardens and relaxing ammenities you cannot go wrong. Atenas is minutes away and getting back and forth is a snap, Joe and Nancy's house is well built for entertaining or just hanging out if you want to feel like a movie star. Our stay was like a second honeymoon that was unforgettable. You are right in the middle of all the places that you should see when you are in Costa Rica; Jaco beach, Manuel Antonio state park, Poaz volcano and the waterfalls which will take your breath away. If you want the best when you go to CR, you should be staying at Joe's place in Pica Flora!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our previous trips to Costa Rica had been adventure-packed, and we had decided ahead of time that all we wanted to do on this trip was relax during our two-week stay. As soon as we stepped foot on this property, we knew we had made the perfect choice to fulfill our goal. The views throughout the property were nothing short of magnificent; the scenery surrounding the villa is absolutely stunning. We purposely had chosen to come during the rainy season when perfect sunny mornings give way to afternoon winds and storms. My husband's favorite time of day was waiting for the mists and clouds to roll in, signalling the change of weather. Except for one overnight side trip to Tabacon Thermal Springs Resort halfway through our trip, we never left Atenas during our stay. In fact, we never left the villa except to take our daily 2-4 mile morning walk, to dine out at restaurants, and to pick up essentials in town. I can't imagine a more perfect place to unwind and revel in the natural beauty that Costa Rica so abundantly offers.
