The Grande Dame - The Big Lady, is the perfect place and space to gather friends and memories. As her name implies, the house is big, sleeping 13 with lots of outdoor space and lake front access to accommodate your large group.

Located midway between Watkins Glen and Geneva on Seneca Lake's east side, and minutes from Finger Lakes favorite wineries such as – Boundary Breaks Vineyard, Grande Dame is the perfect retreat regardless of whether you're a returning traveler or it's your first time touring the Finger Lakes.

Upon arriving, the clear waters of Seneca Lake can be seen from the moment you park the car and unload your luggage. Relax with a bottle of local Finger Lakes wine and unwind, you're on lake time! Inside, the kitchen greets you and encompasses the great room with both living and dining areas combined. Ideal for entertaining, this area is sure to hold many memories from your trip! Don't feel like grocery shopping and cooking? Have your own local personal chef and sommelier provide a culinary experience to remember. The Grande Dame Concierge Services will be provided upon booking.

Granite countertops, tile backsplash and custom cabinetry in the kitchen are a chef's dream come true. An elegant stone, gas fireplace adds warmth and natural beauty to the west wall of the great room. Turn on a fire for those chilly nights and relax in luxury on the comfortable sofa.

Throughout this cozy home, five private bedrooms are yours to choose from. Choose your favorite and whether your view is of the lake, or the garden you'll be in for a treat! The kids will love the newly renovated “bunk room”, with five twin beds, and an adjoining room with a queen bed in case there is a need for an adult close by. Among the many indoor amenities include family favorite board games, a Wifi speaker for enjoying your own playlists and even an acoustic guitar for those musicians among you.

Outside, a lake facing patio overlooks the lake in the distance. Entertaining is always best under the sun and on this perfectly set up patio you'll encounter an outside dining experience that can accommodate your whole group for feasts you'll never forget!

Descend across the yard and across a quiet, private road and lead the way to 50' of dedicated lake frontage just for your group on beautiful Seneca Lake. If you plan to bring your boat, the Grande Dame is ½ mile down the road from Lodi Point State Park, from where you can launch. The lakefront offers a natural entry to the water along with a permanent dock (feel free to moor your boat!), perfect for fishing each season. Spend the day sunbathing on the dock and create new adventures by paddling along the shore in one of our kayaks. In the evenings, you can enjoy a good old fashioned campfire on the beach around our fire pit.

Popular award-winning wineries are abundant within a short drive, including Wagner Estates, Silver Thread Vineyard, Standing Stone Vineyards, and the renowned Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars. Through the summer months entertainment will be a breeze as many local wineries and breweries offer festive events including live music paired with captivating scenery and food. The Grande Dame is located about 10 minutes from downtown Ovid, where you can pick up groceries, great coffee and dine at a couple restaurants should you decide to venture out. Another 25 minutes down the road is the quaint village of Watkins Glen, where guests of Grande Dame can easily hike the Watkins Glen State Park and view gorgeous waterfalls. Occupancy: This property is closely monitored for responsible renting. The maximum occupancy of each home is the number of guests allowed on the premises at any given time. This includes both day and overnight guests as well as all children including infants.

1. You will receive an email upon confirmation with a link to our Guest License Agreement which is a copy of our Rental Rules that must be signed and returned within 7 days of receiving.
2. Smoking is not allowed in any rental property. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes.
3. Homes are not handicap accessible, unless stated in the description.
4. Air conditioning is not available unless listed as an amenity. If available, air conditioning is considered a seasonal amenity and is only available May 15 - October 15.
5. Homes are not guaranteed allergen-free, even those that do not allow pets.
6. Docking is not guaranteed if water levels are low and/or high due to seasonal weather and climate changes.
7. Outdoor amenities, including furniture, watercraft, and firepit are not available between October 15 - May 15.
