This House Has it All

My family and I were thoroughly impressed with this property. From the check in instructions, to all the thoughtful amenities in the home, there is nothing I can complain about. This house has it all for every age. The owners were phenomenal with communication, the neighborhood is nice and quiet in a gated community, the beach is just a few steps away, and the views are incredible. I look forward to staying there again.

This property is amazing. House, pool and the beach a short walk away. Jose has thought of everything. The check in and check out was easy. Coolers, beach chairs, fishing poles, towels you name it. Recommendations for dinner and places to visit. Very responsive with questions. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful home in a great location!

We stayed at Casa Amapola for our 2025 family summer vacation, and it was the perfect location! Not in touristy area of PR, in quiet, gated community. Super short walk to the beach. Very reasonable driving distance to many awesome activities - our favorites were snorkeling up in Fajardo and hiking in El Yunque. House was as described / pictured and had everything we needed. Hosts had great communication. Highly recommend!

Spacious and Relaxing

Everything you need is here, down to the littlest details. Walking distance to the beach, rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The home is very clean and well taken care of. The only downfall were the stray cats. Apparently, the guests before us fed them and they were very persistent and one managed to make its way inside. This was a problem as I'm severely allergic. Please do not feed the cats, there are signs that state that.

Nice place to stay

We really enjoyed the house, pool and the beach which was quiet and nearby. It is quite a hilly area and 15 minutes to amenities but manageable. Most of the nearby, local type restaurants were closed Monday to Wednesday.Jose was easy to reach for any questions. Good time over all. Thank you!

Our stay in Paradis

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful house and had a memorable time. The pictures and listing are accurate yet still exceeded our expectations.All the bedrooms are upstairs. One bathroom downstairs and one upstairs. It was 8 adults and two children and we fit comfortably. The outdoor area is the highlight and where we spent most of our time. The sound of the ocean as you're relaxing and spending time with family is unforgettable. The beach is private and only a few minute walk away. The owners are responsive and gracious. They've thought of everything and the house reflects that. This was our first time in Puerto Rico and Im so grateful I chose this property!

Fantastic House

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Amapola! The location to an incredible beach was priceless and the amenities of the house itself did not fall short on anything we needed/wanted. The hosts were very helpful, communicative, and made sure we were taken care of. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, highly recommended!

Beautiful Place

This house is was warm and welcoming. very comfortable room sizes for everyone in the family. Beautiful views and everyone in my family had a great time. Very quiet neighborhood, clean and excellent property manager. The location can't be beat with a pool, walking distance beach and near by restaurants. We all had an amazing vacation.

Home away from home!!

The hosts were amazing! If I had any questions they responded immediately. The house was immaculate and easy to find with the address provided. The family loved how well the house was put together and they enjoyed the pool and patio. This was one of the best experiences that we shared as a family! Thank you!!

More than a house a home

The web pictures don’t do the property justice. The space is classic Spanish style and has more than ample room to acomódate our family for the month. The beach within view and the pool were all we needed to relax and l unwind from our life back home. We hope to return one day as this was a true home away from home experience. We booked our vacations at Casa Amapola after reviewing lots of other rentals and I have to say that Madeline and José have done a beautiful job with this property. The pool area provided my family with the perfect atmosphere to build unforgettable memories. The kitchen was nicely equipped and I was able to cook with the confort of my home. Fabulous!

Casa Amapola is real 5 stars accommodation! Very well maintained, well equipped but no dishwasher, suitable for groups of 4-6 adults with the 2 bathrooms. Outdoor area with the pool and gazebo are just amazing. Internet and electricity are stable, we worked remotly without any problem. Our 3-weeks stay went well, very quiet area in a gated community, a step away to El Coral Beach, beautiful sandy beach, uncrowded, strong current may occur for swimming when the wind is strong. We had very nice swimming time during the stay. Car is required, all services are 10-15 min driving to Yubucoa. Not possible to walk out of the community (no sidewalk and very hilly). We do warmly recommend CASA AMAPOLA and it's owners. Thanks you 2 for having welcomed us so well. We wish you success with your extraordinary home.

Best Vacation I've Had in Years!

Casa Amapola is a hidden gem in Yabucoa, a small town on the southeastern side of Puerto Rico. The view of the ocean is incredible, especially for sunsets. The hosts are incredibly welcoming (from sending us emails full of helpful local recommendations to Christmas decorations everywhere). The house feels like a resort due to the comfortable king beds, the pool and gazebo, and beautiful plants on the property. One touch we loved was the soft, thick towels for both the beach and for showering. Such a treat! The pool is great for kids (our children were 3-11 years). The second floor has a balcony with comfy rocking chairs and a gorgeous view of the island and ocean. The backyard is an outdoor oasis, perfect for relaxing. You can hear the ocean, the native birds, and beautiful wind chimes. The kitchen is really well stocked for cooking meals at home, making this a great place to stay with families. We stayed with 9 guests (2 families, 5 kids) and we had an extra room to spare because our children loved having "sleepovers" together. The private access to the beach was incredible for walking, swimming at low tide, watching surfers, and shell hunting. There is so much seating indoors and outdoors for meals and hanging out. There's a comfortable living room area for a nightly show before bed. Casa Amapola is close to a great grocery store (Ralph's) and some shops and restaurants in 10-15 minute drive. We had an amazing trip and went cliff jumping and hiking in El Yunque (~45 mins away), kayaking at night with bioluminescent algae, and traveled to 2 beautiful local beaches (7 Seas and Loquillo). We had dinner right on the ocean one night at a great restaurant called Arroyo's. Staying at Casa Amapola was an incredible way to spend the Christmas holiday. Our hosts were so easy to contact through VRBO. We exchanged messages about helpful tips for our stay and conditions on the island after 2 hurricanes). Yabucoa is in great shape and is set apart from the touristy parts of Puerto Rico (like San Juan). Our hosts helped us feel so prepared for our trip. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Thank you so much, Jose & Madeline!!! We want to come back again in a few years to stay again!

Where do I begin? The photos don't compare to how beautiful this house is. The pool and patio area were perfect. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen had everything we could need and then some. Prior to our arrival José sent a detailed list of restaurants, grocery & convenient stores so we were able to eat and do some grocery shopping and were quickly settled as soon as we arrived. The only thing we didn't get to fully enjoy was the nearby beach. The waves were a little too rough for my toddlers. And the cove where the waves seemed calmer were a little bit of a walk down the beach. But we did make some day trips to other beaches and had a wonderful time. The house was able to comfortably accommodate my whole family

Oh my goodness, we had such a wonderful stay at Casa Amapola! The home was clean, well stocked, and perfect for our family. We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen to make breakfast in, swam in the pool at night, and had great sleep in the spacious bedrooms. Our hosts were so warm and quick to communicate with. It’s clear they put alot of love into this home. We hope to stay again next time in PR!

Family Vacation

We traveled with a group of 9 for our family vacation, 5 adults and 4 kids with ages ranging from 8-13. The home was perfect for all of us. The gated community was beautiful, people were friendly and the home itself couldn’t have been any better. They were stocked with games for the kids, pool accessories for both the kids & adults, the kitchen had everything we needed & the backyard was an absolute oasis. They even provided a Bluetooth speaker and a basket of sun tan lotions, oils and aloe, which I thought was awesome (it’s the little things !) . We had perfect weather except for one day, and even on the rainy day we could still sit outside under the covered portion enjoying the beautiful view. The hosts were extremely responsive and were quick to help with any questions that had come up. My family and I have already discussed returning. If you’re planning a family trip this house has it all, the bedrooms, bathrooms, backyard, short walk to a private beach, pool in the backyard, gated community, fully equipped home, and it was extremely clean.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Our two adult children, their spouses and our two teen grandchildren joined my husband and myself for our week long celebration. The house was fabulous and adequately equipped for dining in, enjoying the pool or nearby unpopulated delightful beach. The five bedrooms made it so the grand gals didn’t have to share a room and they liked that as well.We particularly enjoyed being outside of San Juan and getting a feel for life across the island.Many thanks to our hosts.
