Dog friendly clean beautiful home with great views and lots of extras

The Sand Castle is steps from the beach. The views are beautiful from anywhere in the home or on the decks. The home was very clean and communication with the hosts was great. We appreciated the extras provided like beach chairs, umbrellas, and bicycles. The laundry room was also a bonus. This was our first time to North Topsail. We loved that this home and the beach were dog friendly. Both were a great fit for our family. I would stay here again and will recommend it to our family and friends.

Sand Castle 2023

The house was wonderful, clean and there were thoughtful touches like coffee and chocolates already available when we got there. Very nice selection of beach gear and the outdoor showers are super nice for after beach de-sanding. There was a little handbook with info on restaurants and some binoculars there as well. There is no outdoor grill--the grill available is a small indoor electric so large grilling is not really possible but kitchen is very nice and we all settled into cooking for 9 pretty well! Nice stock of pans, toaster, really everything you might need. Beach access is great--literally two houses down so you don't need to cross a major street to get there. You do need a car to get to stores for groceries... There was an add for the island donut place on the fridge--a must eat! Would definitely recommend-thanks for a wonderful vacation!

The property could use some TLC. We encountered numerous roaches and water bugs inside. Coming from out-of-state, we needed a place that provided beach chairs and umbrellas. We were excited to find this house with what we needed, and then some. We were so disappointed to find most everything unusable due to being broken and/or in terribly rusted condition. Especially the chairs. Nothing was organized, like in the pictures. We had to dig out what was usable. We were told there would be at least 6 chairs available for use. 2 were usable. Obviously, the shed is not checked between guests and "refundable" deposit is not being utilized for its intended purpose. Host blames it on being the end of peak season and guests ignoring the rules. Guests should be able to expect the same advertised condition of items, no matter the time of year.Communication with host was not good. Up until the night before check-in, 5 requests were ignored for assistance on making shed deposit to correct payment app. Host later claimed I was asking for lock codes way ahead of visit, which was untrue. I only wanted to make payment. Early on I was told I would receive a request from the app to make payment. I never received it. We had to guess where to send, it, which resulted in payment being sent to the wrong person.I have rented for years from VRBO, renting at least once a year, and have never had the issues I have had with this host.

Excellent hosts and property. Great location to the beach and Surf City for local seafood and restaurants. Highly recommend. Very clean and comfortable for all of us including our doggie. Thanks for a great family getaway!

Family beach time

This was our first visit to North Topsail Beach, so we didn't know what to expect. As soon as we found this house, we knew we wanted to stay there, and it was the best decision ever! The hosts were very responsive and super helpful with all our questions. The home was very clean, beautifully decorated, and perfectly situated near the beach entrance. It was ideal for three adult couples, one toddler, and two dogs! The hosts have thoughtfully provided everything needed including toys, books, and games. The kitchen was well stocked and a pleasure to cook in, and the open floor plan allowed the cook to participate in family time without missing anything. The beds were very comfortable, laundry room was quite handy, and bathrooms were clean and spacious. The outside shower was amazing! The two outdoor porches had a nice view of the ocean and were a great place to unwind in the evening.We loved the clean , uncrowded beach, the weather was gorgeous, we enjoyed several great dinners out, and really recommend the tour at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle rescue. This was by far one of the best vacations we've ever had, and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much, John and Cherie!

March Madness

The property was just as described. Very comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable and made on arrival. Great ocean views from the upper deck. Nice amenities for the stay and dealing with owners was very pleasant and easy. Would definitely recommend the beach house again. Very happy with our stay in North Topsail.

Wonderful stay

Best hosts ever!

Had a terrific time at The Sand Castle and John and Cherie were amazing hosts. Answered any and all questions and concerns and have a terrific home for a big family like ours. House was perfect and the location is amazing! Definitely look forward to our next stay at the Sand Castle!!
