Hämmästyttävä piha - The Loft at The Priory Killarney Courtyard Cottages

Vuonna 1780 rakennettu, The Priory on todella ainutlaatuinen pala omaisuutta rakennettu paikallisten Herra Kenmare ranskalaiselle aristokraatti pakenevat Ranskan vallankumouksen. The home was so spacious yet cozy and had every amenity you need. The whole property is beautiful and the host even decorated for Christmas which was lovely. Our car broke down while we here and the hosts were so helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend. We will be back for sure

The host was beyond welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know about the accommodation. They even had a Christmas tree up for us! AND lit the Christmas lights outside! So festive and welcoming!

Loved the layout of the Loft, plus it had character. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had most of our meals directly from the kicthen. Beds were comfortable and clean as was the rest of the house. The location is within walking distance to town, and 10 minutes drive to most of the landmarks within the area. We had apples and pears just outside the door and Bernadette graciously let us pick them - and they were delicious!

Property was very traditional Irish building which was clean. Pictures in listing match the actual unit perfectly. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was south of Killarney city centre and a 30 minute walk into town one-way.

Great House and Location

Our group of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Loft! The house was spacious and on the same property as a larger group of family members. Great location for walking into Killarney for pubs and shopping.

Very lovely

Bernadette and Tim were amazing hosts! The property was beautiful and really gives you the essence of Ireland. Our family stayed in the Loft area, which was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable for a group of 5. Conveniently, the hosts live next door, should guests have concerns or wanting recommendations for activities within the area. Although the accommodation is on the outskirts of town, walking to town centre takes roughly 15 minutes. I would highly recommend The Priory, and would stay again upon my return to Killarney.

Great Home Base

The Priory was an excellent location for quick day trips to the Dingle Peninsula, The Ring of Kerry, the Gap of Dunloe, and Killarney itself. Bernadette gave us tips on what to see and booked our Gap of Dunloe trip for us. Thcottage was well stocked

Outstanding Visit

If you want to feel like you are really part of the Irish community, then these cottages are just what you are looking for. The grounds, the house and the courtyard cottages are all gorgeous and well kept. Close enough to downtown to enjoy walking to pubs and restaurants, but far enough that you forget you are in the city. The cottage was well kept and well equipped. We would have loved to stay longer. Our hosts Tim and Bernadette were lovely hosts! If you are smart you will follow the tips they have printed for guests. It took us to some of our most memorable sights!

Home away from home in “The Loft”

The property was perfectly suited for our multigenerational family vacation to Killarney for an Irish Dance Competition. The location was perfect! We could walk to INEC as well as Killarney Brewery Company and the best pizza place, Tango. It was very easy to find and was easy to get to the center as well as exploring other parts of the Wild Atlantic Way. Tim and Bernadette were excellent hosts. The Loft was perfect for our family of 6 - 3 bedrooms and 3 toilets were much appreciated. Something for everyone. Kitchen well stocked. Hosts were very helpful in deciding where we should pick up groceries to cook our own meals. We had a lovely time and we would not hesitate to return to Killarney and stay with Tim.

Quaint Cozy Cottage

Tucked away on a quiet street, yet such a short walk to town for wonderful shopping, restaurants, and pubs. Exactly as advertised. Loved how the bedrooms and bathrooms were spaced out so you have space and privacy if you are traveling with friends, but can still be all together in one accommodation. Kitchen, family room, dining area, and entryway all very large and open. We’ll definitely return the next time we are in Killarney.

Amazing Historical Cottage in Killarney

This is the most perfect place to rent in Ireland. It was our favorite stay/location. It seems simplistic to reference it as a cottage or loft as it was absolutely beautiful. We had everything we needed for our stay and everyone was very comfortable for a family of six adults. We stayed for three nights in December and had absolutely no complaints. It was our favorite location of all the places we rented. The owners are incredibly thoughtful and gracious, and responded immediately to any of our questions. I cannot recommend this place enough! It is also the perfect location to explore Killarney and everything was in walking distance. We will return!

We came to Killarney end of November. Rained most of our time and we had a marvelous time. Biked around National Park. No competition with other visitors. The Lofts at Priory were most comfortable.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Irish garden estate

This place is the quintessential Irish stay. Absolutely beautiful grounds and garden space. Our family of 7 stayed in the loft cottage- fit us all perfectly, spacious, IMMACULATELY clean, safe, super convenient to many stops on the Ring of Kerry. HIGHLY recommend.

Killarney in My Dreams

Tim & Bernadette were great hosts. We were there for a month and it was the perfect location to visit the surrounding area. The town of Killarney was walking distance and the entrance to the national park just a mile up the road. The house while built in 1780 has been totally restored with all the modern convivences.

Great house in a fabulous location

We had a lovely stay in the Loft. It was very well furnished and equipped. Very spacious and comfortable for the four of us and our dog. Great location for getting into the town or out into the countryside and coast. The surrounding area is stunning! Only suggestion would be to leave some instructions on how to regulate the heating. We were a bit chilly after getting a soaking when out one day and it was difficult to warm up and dry our things. But this was very minor issue and didn’t detract from our stay in any way. Many thanks.

Bernadette and Tim O’Donoghue met in The Windy City of Chicago a few years back. We acquired the property in 2002. We then returned from Chicago in 2004.

Bernadette and Tim O’Donoghue met in The Windy City of Chicago a few years back..in 87'. We acquired the property in 2002. We then returned from Chicago in 2004.

Bernadette is now a stay at home Mom working full time with the Courtyard Cottages, Tim is an electrician by trade but got into construction during my 14 years in Chicago. I restored several old houses and classic vintage apartment buildings during my time there. I coupled this experience with Bernadette’s keen eye and interior design savvy to create some wonderful finishes and unusual touches. We began the colossal rehab project in 2004 to restore the Priory to its former glory ,it was basically completed it in 2007 or is it ever complete I like to ask myself ? I am also part owner of Killarney Brewing Co. which we started from the ground up on the Muckross Road.

We pride ourselves in welcoming you into our place.

I grew up in Killarney, where my parents owned a camping site and I truly loved meeting visitors on a daily basis. We have 4 children and we wanted to raise them here in Ireland, so we said we would give it a shot and here we are.When this property became available we realized how unique it was and what a fantastic opportunity it would be to own The Priory.

We are in a key location,a 12 minute walk from town but it feels like we are in the heart of the countryside where you cannot hear a sound by night.
You will get a quiet private house to yourself where you can come and go as you please. You can cook when you want and have the full use of the 1.5 acre property on private grounds. You can sit back and relax in the front of the wood burning fire sipping a nice Irish whiskey or reading a good book with the sweet smell of turf burning away.

The cottage has a Jacuzzi you can slip into and soothe the soul after a hectic day.
You will get the real feel of Irish living and live like we live ourselves while visiting in your home away from home.
We are on site owners who are here to help you in any way you require and assure a wonderful stay. We have invaluable knowledge about the local area from cultural information to hikes, local food joints to off the beaten track drives. We can organize in-house chef, or poetry recital or to a music session.
