Family vacation

6 adults and three children ages 4& 5 plus a 1 year old. Adequate number of bedrooms but no AC and even though temperatures outside was chilly, interior of home was hot so difficult to sleep even with fans and open windows. With the high altitude, it’s difficult to breath making activities like hiking difficult. Trails are rocky so not accessible for a stroller. Dirt roads up to the home so you need an SUV. You have to drive 20 minutes into a small town for groceries, wood if you want to use the fire pit and charcoal if you want to cook outside. No propane grill. Limited toilet paper, paper towels and tissues. When we arrived we had all the outdoor furniture covered in pollen and we had to clean it if we wanted to sit outside. I would have expected the owners to have cleaned it before our arrival. Don’t expect to clean indoors and outdoors when on vacation. Scenery is breathtaking.

Unlimited possibilities

Our annual family trip destination this year was to the beautiful state of Colorado. We looked long and hard to find the perfect spot to fit our family and on paper this destination checked all of the boxes. However, upon arrival, we were shocked. The description of this location understated the beauty, tranquility, and comfort that we were about to experience. From the accomodations being a 5 star hotel rating in comfort, spaciousness and design, to the extra services offered that were fabulous, we had one of the most memorable vacations to date. We hiked, enjoyed the chef meals, participated in a scavenger hunt, relaxed in both hot tubs, grilled, took side trips to Nederland and Boulder, and only turned on the tv the very last evening of our six day stay to watch March Madness basketball. The hosts were very accomodating and easy to communicate with, and the views..... well, let's just say that we have spent many vacations on the beach, but have now discovered a new love for the mountains. Would we go back? We are already planning it! Cannot think of one thing I would change about the entire stay. We are so grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity and very thankful to the hosts.

First Colorado Experience

This was the first trip for my family of 11 to visit the gorgeous state of Colorado. Ascending the mountain to the property was exactly the experience we all wanted. Our excitement grew as we climbed higher on Emory Rd!! The property is very secluded with plenty of space for exploring. The house had all the amenities needed to satisfy all our needs. The only thing I would suggest is a bit more lighting. The house is very dark and if staying in the winter be sure to have warm pj’s. Would definitely recommend this property if you seek the true Colorado mountain experience.

Not only is this the perfect Colorado vacation home, but Jennifer and Kevin are the perfect hosts. There if you need them , but invisible if you don't. I highly recommend this property.

Woodland escape

Wonderful place to enjoy woods and mountains. Watched a meteor shower from the hot tub. Cute little bobcat came to visit. Epic viewing of Game of Thrones in the media room. Great place to wind down and unplug. Vacation was just what we we’d hoped.

Spacious house, well supplied, beautiful vistas and plenty of room to wander around the property.

Stayed for family reunion for Thanksgiving. Remote, high (8600 ft) gorgeous vistas, well supplied kitchen. Lots of fun for outdoors oriented group- hiking, skiing 25 min away, shooting and hot tubbing. Enjoyed large theater area and could seat and serve 11 with plenty of flat wear and plates. Found host/hostess accomadating and responsive to multiple questions.

Great mountain location for weekend getaway

We had a group of 12 adults stay on this property for a three night getaway in the mountains. The lodge was beautiful and had everything that we needed. The area is perfect for hiking, and the location is ideal for a retreat to rest and relax. The communication with Kevin and Jennifer was great and they prepared us well for the stay and included a lot of details to make preparing for the trip a breeze. All of the spaces on the property to relax outside and enjoy the surrounding nature were wonderful! We will definitely plan another stay in the future.

Mountain Paradise

We rented the entire Lodge at Blue Sky Ranch for a 50th birthday celebration for 4 couples. The property was amazing with plenty of room and every amenity we needed. We all had our own space but spent most of our time together outdoors on the expansive deck and patio - all with stellar views. The hot tubs were clean and perfect for after a long hike or bike ride. Jennifer (and Kevin) were great hosts and promptly attended to our needs although they were minimal. Kitchen has all we needed to cook in a few nights - and enjoy breakfast together each morning. Highlights were the gaggle of hummingbirds that visited every day, the sunset hike that ended with wine and cheese and a gorgeous view (sign up for this with the host) - and side trips into Nederland and Boulder. We all kept remarking how beautfiul and relaxing the Ranch was. We would definitely visit again -- there would have been room for 4-6 kiddos to join us but this time it was adults only. Next time we'll bring them with us!

Fabulous getaway close to the city

We planned a simply trip not far out of the city and were thrilled to find the ranch. One hour out of Denver and you feel a world away. Gorgeous views, lovely accommodations, and fun activities. The house is wonderful. Nicer than the photos. Warm and comfortable... homey. Everything you need is there and if you by chance need something Kevin and Jennifer are so helpful and the most gracious hosts. The artwork throughout the house is spectacular. I spent the first hour walking around enjoying the objects throughout the house. We will absolutely return to once again unwind and rejuvenate at the ranch. Thank you K & J! Leslie S

I will stay here again! The owners were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They helped us with questions, recommendations and anything we needed. The house is gorgous! The view is priceless! We had the best time!!!! I would recommend (and already have) to everyone!!!

Great Bachelor Party Weekend!

Our group of 12 guys had a fantastic time at the house. We spent our days hiking around the beautiful property and enjoying the spectacular views off the deck. Used the kitchen and wonderful Green Egg to whip up delicious meals. Bedrooms easily accommodated all 12 of us. Kevin & Jennifer were very good about providing extensive details on all parts of the property / house. Would definitely go for a repeat stay the next time I have a group activity in the area. ~Stuart

Purple Mountain Majesty

Had no idea that the mountains are purple in the morning. I guess that's why "purple mountain majesty" in the song "America, the Beautiful". That was a surprise amongst many others at Blue Sky Mountain Ranch. Totally gorgeous setting that I really can't compare to any other private property that I've rented. You truly feel like you own a mountain. The cozy log cabin lodge is a bonus to this immense property. Makes you feel like you are in a safe fortress on top of a mountain.

5-Star Remote Paradise with One-of-a-Kind Activities

We recently stayed at the Blue Sky Mountain Ranch for a friends reunion with 10 guests. The property, vistas, rock formations, forest trails and activities were truly amazing. The cabin has all the luxuries one would expect for the rental fees, with expansive decks, two hot tubs, fire pits, satellite TV/big screens, stocked kitchen and comfy beds. We were constantly surprised by the attention to detail and friendly guidance provided by Kevin and Jennifer (owners). The entire property appeared to be a manicured forest with thousands of boulder formations placed just for us on our many hikes and explorations. The local shops and great restaurants are all within 10-20 mins drive. We golfed, gambled (Blackhawk Casinos are maybe 20 mins drive), hiked, and held an unforgettable skeet competition onsite. Kevin was kind enough to let us shoot off the back deck into an incredible vista of the snow topped mountains and yellow Aspen trees. We have traveled all over the world to many properties and this ranch was the most unique experience yet. Renters note - drink lots of water before and during your stay! Sounds funny but our group has some very experienced/fit hikers and everyone noticed the altitude change the first few days. In having the time of our lives in these mountains, we cannot wait for the chance to get back to Blue Sky Mountain Ranch for another reunion. Thanks again Kev and Jen! The Meese Party

Unbelievable Setting!

I can't imagine any other "VRBO" type property to measure up to this one as far as the setting is concerned. The Vistas, the mountains, the sunsets, the forest, the rock formations- all incredible. It was like stepping into my own private National Park with no other evidence of people for miles. Amazing experience, Thank you for sharing this exceptional property.

Beautiful Mountain Views

The views from the house and decks are absolutely beautiful! I loved watching and identifying the variety of birds visiting the deck feeders with my grandsons. The whole family had a great time hiking the trails of this vast property and especially enjoyed the hike guided by Jennifer who knows so much about the flora, fauna and rock formations on the property. Jennifer and Kevin are terrific hosts, offering great suggestions for activities, helping us novices with getting the Big Green Egg going and working through the audio video equipment nuances! This property is a great mix of rustic and luxurious. Our family trip to the mountains was a happy adventure for all.

Great location - get away to enjoy good company under blue skies

Our group of nine friends came together from across the country to reconnect and enjoy time together. The setting was perfect. Blue Sky Ranch is a great property. It's easy to get to, well appointed, and yet away from it all. We mostly spent our time at the home, but ventured out for some hiking near Nederland too. Really enjoyed the kitchen, the deck, and the firepit. Thanks to the owners for setting us up and giving us some helpful tips during our stay.
