Lue koko kuvaus ennen varauksen varaamista. Miellyttävästi löydetty kirjallisuusmajoitus on ympäri vuoden, iltaisin (vähintään 2 yötä) tai viikoittain vaihtoehtona perinteiselle yöpymiselle. Comfort Found Literary Lodging on täysin kalustettu, kahden makuuhuoneen, näkymä joelle, ylimmän kerroksen huoneisto historiallisessa New England -kaupungin keskustassa lähellä ravintoloita, gallerioita, kauppoja, kirjakauppa, kirjasto, Lincoln-teatteri elokuvilla ja live-esityksillä sekä Damariscotta-joki Satama.

Olemme tiukkoja, savuttomia tiloja, joissa ei ole lemmikkieläimiä. Huomaa, että tämä huoneisto on kolmannessa kerroksessa leveillä portailla, mutta ei hissiä. Jos jollain puolueellasi on kävelyvaikeuksia, ota se huomioon ennen varausta. Katso liitteenä oleva video.

Great place in the middle of Main Street

I booked this location at the last minute, as my expected lodging fell through. I must say I am so glad it did! Literary Lodging was a gem of a place to stay, and I wish I could have stayed longer, at least to finish 1 book! The location is right in the middle of Main Street, so it was so easy to walk most places that I wanted to go. The apartment was clean and very well provisioned. It felt like home. I will stay again when I come back to Maine!

If entirely modern, perfectly plum, and exactly level are on your list of requirements, this isn't the place for you. Great stay, great location

I really enjoyed my stay at the apartment. The kitchen had all the amenities I needed, and I was able to choose the bedroom away from the main road to avoid traffic noise. Jeff and Sharon were easy to reach, and even called to check in when I arrived. Overall, it was a great location, right in the heart of Damariscotta, and easy access to nearby attractions.

Excellent first stay experience

This was a charming apartment in a charming little town in Maine. It was located in the heart of the town that was abundant with shops and restaurants. The owner was very attentive in communicating with us about our stay and making sure we were comfortable and up to date on the city's parking challenges. We would definitely stay in this location again.

What a great place! Charming, breezy, well stocked with towels and linens, and water views from the front AND back! Girls relaxing weekend

Loved our stay at this VRBO. We enjoyed the quiet quaint town and the lovely views of the beautiful buildings and of the water. We had everything we needed to cook a meal if we didn't want to visit a restaurant on the Main Street. We visited Sherman's books and picked up some treasures but this condo also offered us a selection of reading that would keep us buried in books forever. We loved our stay so much we will make this a yearly tradition to visit this adorable space in the wonderful town of Damriscotta. The owners were wonderful to chat with and made sure that our trip was a special one.

Perfect Maine Town on the Damariscotta River

I was in a book lovers paradise. If I wasn’t so interested in the outdoors I could have happily stayed in with their library. But the outside beckoned, the apartment is on Main Street with access to restaurants, bookstores, beautiful boutiques and the Damariscotta wharf. Sandpiper Cruises, a local river touring company, is minutes away. They take up to 6 out the river for oyster tours.

Great place to get stuck on a rainy fall weekend

Enjoying the change of seasons on the mid-coast. Got a bit of rain so was glad we had such a great space as we spent more time inside than usual. Two big bedrooms with comfortable beds on opposite sides of the apartment. Good sized well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable living room. All the books you could ever need. Right in the middle of town. Lots to do in the area. Hosts were very responsive - even tracked down some hiking maps that sadly we didn't get to use. Definitely would recommend.

Loving Literary Lodging

The location is excellent, the accommodations are homey in the best sense of the word, and the literary theme exceeded our expectations. We explored and discovered Damarascotta, as well as some extraordinary texts and authors. There's no place like Maine, and "there is no frigate like a book"!

Comfort Found Literary Lodging was founded by the award winning author and illustrator Sharon Lovejoy and her husband Jeff Prostovich, a real estate broker in California.

Miksi majoittaja valitsi tämän majoituspaikan

The first time I saw downtown Damariscotta I felt as though I had come home. The small village of old sea captain’s houses, the perfect New England churches and steeples and mid 19th century brick buildings huddled near the river touched my heart.

One building in particular stayed in my mind. For decades, 112 Main Street was the apothecary shop for the town. Years later, the pharmacy was taken over by a country store (now a gallery) and the top two floors were turned into apartments.

When the chance came to buy the building, we wandered through the floors up to the top level. It felt like a Paris (don’t laugh) apartment. Maybe it was the 33 steps, but I loved the high ceiling in the stairwell, the moldings, the funky 30's kitchen, the living room, and the two bedrooms.

We had often talked about buying a small hotel to outfit with comfortable furniture and beds, antiques, art, and lots of wonderful books.

When Jeff asked me what we should call it, I thought of the book Comfort Found in Good Old Books by George Hamlin Fitch. Written in 1911 by the book reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle, Fitch’s book highlighted the most beloved of the books he turned to for comfort. He believed, as do I, that cultivating a love of reading is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Books bring the world to your easy chair; they give you wings; and they are ever faithful friends whether you need inspiration, edification, or consolation. Fitch believed in the verity of the old quote by Thomas Carlyle, “My books are friends that never fail me.”

When our first guests checked into Comfort Found, they said, 'This is a HOME,' which was exactly how we wanted them to feel.  Jeff and I would like to invite you to experience the real taste of New England in the warm and welcoming rooms of our dear 'Comfort Found.' I think you'll feel, as did our first guests, that you've stepped into a well-loved home.

Relax and unwind year round with our plentiful selection of books or bring your own. We offer free wifi to keep you connected, but not distracted. Cable TV in living room and sports bars are nearby. We are frequent business travelers and want our guests to feel at home in a clean, comfortable environment. Damariscotta is centrally located in MidCoast Maine with Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Thomastown, Tenant's Harbor to the north and Boothbay, Wiscasset, Bath, Brunswick, Freeport (outlet capital of North America), and Portland to the south. Reservations are accepted starting and ending any day of the week.
