Quaint 4-bedroom house on Ocean Isle Beach

Once upon a time there was a young preacher and his family who needed a home of their own. After finally completing her college degree (with three children at home and a preacher's wife role), Mammo went to work teaching kindergarten. With the extra earnings from her job and the preacher's revivals, and much family prodding, this premium plot of golden OIB property was purchased. Under Mammo's steady supervision, this home was scrupulously crafted to be safe and sound with the utmost skill and foresight. In 1974, we moved into our very own home!

Upkeep of the home was a financial challenge for the preacher's family. Early in its history, income from summer rentals helped offset the high taxes and insurance costs. Throughout the years Mammo spent countless hours cleaning, furnishing, and decorating our home. She rummaged through thrift shops far and wide for affordable supplies and delightful treasures. Her sharp eye for a bargain and endless energy created a beautiful, comfortable, memory-filled respite for all to enjoy.

This home became the family gathering space. Five generations of Clan Wallace have shared life and love within its well-worn walls. Birthdays, Easter dinners, anniversary parties, July 4th celebrations, and extended family vacations are some of our most cherished memories. The simple pleasures of a slower paced, less stressful coastal lifestyle gave birth to seaside fun and games. Fishing, evening movies, games of Rook and Old Maid, back porch coffee and rocking chair sharing time, and plenty of good food (especially ice cream) are part and parcel of our beloved traditions. Children and grandchildren explore and grow in the beauty and truth of God's amazing Creation.

When you visit, we hope you will experience the same Grace and Peace we share when we are together in this sacred space. The thrill and exhilaration of crossing the OIB bridge and turning in at our red-roofed Mammo's Beach House never grow old! Come and see for yourself! Take Joy!!!
