Kutsumme sinut tulemaan ja yöpymÀÀn kauniissa rannalla sijaitsevassa kodissamme Galveston Sea Star -hotellissa, joka sijaitsee Sea Isle -yhteisössÀ! Nauti uskomattomista nÀkymistÀ lahdelle rentoutumalla parvekkeella tai viettÀmÀllÀ aikaa perheen kanssa alakerrassa piknikpöydÀn ÀÀressÀ.

Sea Star mahtuu 10 ihmistÀ 3 makuuhuoneessa ja alakerran Murphy-sÀngyssÀ. Jokaisessa huoneessa on TV ja tuoreet lakanat sÀngyissÀ. Olohuoneesta on upeat nÀkymÀt merelle sekÀ helppo pÀÀsy keittiöön. Alakerran kerroksessa on koko puulattia ja keittiössÀ on graniittitasoja ja ruostumattomia laitteita.

Ranta on autovapaa (muu kuin satunnainen kaupungin rantaviranomainen), mikÀ antaa vanhemmille enemmÀn mielenrauhaa, kun lapsesi leikkivÀt. Kotiin kuuluu ulkosuihku, piknikpöytÀ ja 2 hengen keinu, nopea laajakaista-internet, HDTV, Blu-Ray-soittimet ja tilava ruokailutila. Matkapuhelimen vastaanotto alueella voi olla huono, joten siellÀ on myös kiinteÀ puhelin soittaaksesi ystÀvillesi ja rakkaillesi.

Lomanne sisÀltÀÀ pÀÀsyn yhteisötenniskenttÀÀn, yksityiseen kalastuslaituriin ja kalanpuhdistusasemalle. Sinulla on myös mahdollisuus ostaa pÀÀsy Sea Isle -yhteisön uima-altaalle. Vain 1. 4 mailin pÀÀssÀ sijaitsevassa hangoutissa on myös erinomainen ravintola ja baari.

Otamme mielellÀmme korkeintaan 2 koiraa, mutta emme hyvÀksy koiria, jotka painavat yli 25 kiloa, EI POIKKEUKSIA. Kaikki koirat on paljastettava tiedustelun yhteydessÀ.

Sea Star has it all

This cottage is comfortable, they’ve thought of everything
very well stocked. Great view and ocean breezes from the deck. There are lots of beach toys. Can’t say enough good things about The Sea Star. Thank you Rhodes family for a well planned house for your guests.

Very nice house. Everything you could possibly need. Plenty of towels, paper goods, soap, cleaning supplies. I was surprised by everything available. Beach view was great from very nice deck. We enjoyed our stay so much!

The tv in the bun room wouldn’t work so some of the kids wouldn’t sleep in the bunk room because it was too dark. Bought food to grill as it states there was a grill that could be used but it was coated in rust so we couldn’t grill. I didn’t love that the checkout was at 11 because of the instructions for check out including doing the laundry, dishes and stripping the beds. That didn’t really leave anytime to just vacation and enjoy the family today.

We loved it here

My family of 5 stayed here, and we loved it. The location was perfect. Even being there during the weekend, there were no crowds and we also liked how no cars were allowed on that stretch of beach. The house had everything you could need and more. It was our first time to the beach as a family and we are looking forward to coming back. We plan on booking this house again if avaliable . ,

We loved this house last year. The location, the layout, the space and access to the beach is wonderful 👌 The only sour note, there were gnats coming out of the kitchen and upstairs restroom. They were extremely annoying. I called the phone number on the frig and I never received a text or phone call back.

Wonderful Beach home for family vacation!!

This was our second time to stay and it is the perfect place for our family. The access to the beach is amazing and the home has plenty of room for all ages. The kitchen is well equipped for us to make meals and enjoy them at the large family table or outside on the deck. The shower downstairs is a nice amenity to get all the sand off before heading into the house. Sea Isle is a great place, not crowded like the east end but close enough to drive in to explore Galveston. By far one of our favorite homes we’ve stayed in!!

Terrific location, nice property!

The Sea Star property on Sea Isle is excellent. The house is in great shape, plenty of kitchen supplies and gadgets, and lots of room in the house. The unobstructed beach views and access are perfect. Since this property is on a "no-drive" stretch of beach, the beach was practically deserted during our stay...it was perfect for what we wanted. Communication from hosts was good and they were quick to respond to important questions. We will come back to this house again.

Great Thanksgiving at the Beach!

Our family had a lovely stay at Galveston Sea Star! The weather was supposed to be awful but ended up being lovely on Thursday and Friday so no complaints! The house was easy to find - easy to get into - fresh and clean and ready to feast in! The kitchen was fully equipped with all we needed. All appliances up and operating - large prep area and table to spread out at. Great TV for football and the beds were all comfy and ready to be slept in, The deck provided both a covered area for bad weather and an open area for sunning. Just lovely!!

Relaxing Christmas on the beach

I went with my adult children, so I had the downstairs master and they shared the upstairs, my daughter and boyfriend in the queen room and my son in the bunk room. This house worked great for our needs. The downstairs is open and airy with lots of great seating for relaxing, reading, and watching the sunrise, a fold out table for puzzling, and spacious, well appointed kitchen for meal prep. Easy access to the beach is a plus. Lots of closet space for storage. It was big enough for us this time, but not when both kids have families.

Good spot for family

The good: Beach is 20 yds away Location is perfect ( away from the craziness of Galveston) Fishing is good Cute house EVERY beach toy you need is in the garage. Needs improvement: Needs to be deep cleaned. Grime on cabinets, hairs on sinks, a lot of old books and games need to be thrown away and clutter eliminated. 2nd floor sleeping area was much hotter, even with AC. Both shower drains were not working properly. Doors and windows need to be repaired and/or updated. Overall, cute place that needs to be better maintaned.

New Caney couple

What a perfect place for us to spend our 10 days on the beach. We're beach veterans, and know the area, so were impressed with all the "little touches" in the house. Well furnished and maintained, plenty of cookware, a great deck and picnic area downstairs. Especially usefull was access to the garage/storage under the house. We bring a lot of beach/fishing gear, and this gave us a safe place to store everything when not in use. We cooked most of the time, but enjoyed a couple of fine meals at the West End Restaurant in Sea Isle and at Rudy and Paco in Galveston. Everything in the house worked perfectly, with the exception of the TV in the main room--it worked fine, but the sound emanates from 2 small speakers on the back of the TV, and we tried to watch a couple of movies on the DVD player and they were unintelligible--even with volume maxxed out. We had about 16 family members down for the day on the first weekend, and we had plenty of room to cook outside and enjoy boiled shrimp and cheesburgers...the Weber grill is in great shape. We had a blast, and really hated to leave. We hope to make this lovely home a vacation regular for us at least once a year. Great house, Rose!

Good place for families with young kids!

This property is great for families with young children. It has direct beach access and the upstairs is ideally set up to have parents in one room and the kids in the bunk room across the bathroom. They even had kid stuff in the house and safety rails for the top bunk. The house is one of the most well-stocked that I have seen which made life easier. They had several rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, hand soap, trash bags, (even baggies!), shampoo and conditioner, a good amount of beach towels and bath towels, as well as plenty of blankets and pillows. The kitchen had everything we needed. The garage downstairs had boogie boards, a tent for the beach, and sand toys. The tent is great so you don't have to haul yours. Two things to bring with you that they did not have: 1) A baby gate if you have toddlers. The deck does not have a gate to close it off from the stairs to the beach. We often had to figure out a way to block the steps from my 20-mo. 2) Beach chairs. There were plenty of kid chairs, but there were none that could fit an adult. We had to go buy beach chairs or we would have had to sit on the sand the whole time. The 4-star rating is due to communication with the host. We went the first day of a tropical storm. I sent a text and message through the app verifying the property was still accessible and not flooded out. We did not hear back about it until a day before our trip was over. Luckily we went anyway and took the risk.

We stayed 15 nights in May 2023 at Galveston Sea Star. With so many 5-star reviews you would expect this rental to be perfect and “in pristine condition” as described in the listing. However: Toilet has black, disgusting caked-on crud. Grime on cabinets and doors ANTS in kitchen, dining area & on the wall. Many ant bait traps set in the kitchen. Due to ants, I emptied a cabinet, cleaned it out and sprayed RAID that was already at the house. Open food packages need to be tossed. King mattress has a big yellow NASTY stain! I covered it with a folded throw that had already been left under the mattress pad. King mattress pad had stains that looked like blood! I washed and replaced. Entire house needs deep-cleaning. Furnishings are as shown in the listing, but no ottomans in the living room. Property has lots of towels, kitchen stuff; the washer and dryer work fine. The drains in the showers are clear. WIFI is great, cell phone reception is iffy and TV does not receive local stations, but you have access to plenty of free movies. Thermostat keeps the house at the desired temperature most of the time. This was not our first time renting a beach house. This house is beautifully furnished – just not adequately kept up. Cursory cleaning between guests is not enough. Owners need to hire a professional to get rid of the ants, throw out the foodstuffs, replace the king mattress and deep clean. Then, the Galveston Sea Star will be an EXCEPTIONAL rental “in pristine condition.”

Not an experience we care to repeat

No busy streets to cross to access beach is a plus; however, we won't return or recommend rental of this beach house. First, we couldn't lock house first 4 days of week long stay. There was spray can on mantel with note to use on the lock when it freezes, so owners know there is a problem. Constant spraying didn't unfreeze it for days. This was a worry as both security and theft issues, certainly reflecting very little regard for renters' safety or possessions. The bluray player remote couldn't be located. Source of smell in master bedroom couldn't be determined. I noticed either algae or mold on outside of house so maybe smell is emanating from something similar in walls. Also, bed linens didn't fit bed in master bedroom so week of sliding around the mattress while trying to sleep. There wasn't adequate dishwasher detergent or toilet paper, and the benches at dining table painfully pinched our legs when in shorts. Several days before check-in, the owners sent an email demanding we act as their maid service, which is deceptively, unethically and unprofessionally not advertised on the website, then left a note in house that their maid can be reached if any problems - conflicting messages. When I relayed I have never paid for a vacation, then provided maid services, I was told they do have cleanings crews come in after stays but "(s)ince there is no one coming in the same day as your departure," you are cleaning. I will be discussing with the Galveston County Health District both the legality of the owners' entitlement mentality in requiring renters to be their maids as well as the unsanitary conditions imposed on renters by the owners' refusal to professionally clean the beach house immediately after renters' stays. There are no outdoor recliners, which have always been available in our many years of beach vacations, other than a broken, rusted yard chair recliner downstairs. During entire week, constructions workers walked through the beach house private yard to the beach, pipe was being installed along the road and each concrete driveway on road was broken with a jackhammer. Noise was horrendous, and we were unable to leave the house for a day while work was done on the house driveway. Meanwhile, construction workers were out on the beach taking pictures of us and urinating in surf. We have been unable to obtain the refund of our property deposit, despite carefully maintaining the beach house and leaving in same condition as check-in.

Rick and Tina met back in the 1970s while attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. We have spent our working lives serving rural communities with limited access to health care. Dr. Rick is a small town doctor who specializes in making house calls to elders, and Dr. Tina is an occupational therapist who works with special needs children in country schools and is a university professor. Paul and Rose work in engineering and human resource management in California. Lily is in high school and looking at colleges! After being away for so many years, the whole family is enjoying being back in Galveston.

We chose this property because it is located on a beautiful wide swath of beach, has plenty of open space on all sides, and it is within an easy walk of the local convenience store. Because it is a part of a homeowners association, we also have access to a swimming pool and private fishing pier.

In addition to being ideally situated on a car-free beach, this house has a large, secure storage area containing beach and barbeque tools, and a variety of useful supplies. The house is in pristine condition and has two twin bunk beds, one queen bed, one king bed, and a comfortable new full-sized Murphy bed. The kitchen is well appointed, and the living area and bunk bedroom have new HDTVs.
