Wolf Creek Basecamp is just minutes from blue-ribbon trout fishing on the Missouri River and scenic Holter Lake. Walk to the Wolf Creek Angler fly shop, and seasonal coffee and sandwich spots. Next door, Lazy I Beerworks offers craft brews, food and live music. Relax with lawn games, a grill and a fire pit. The circular driveway is ideal for boats & trailers. Whether you're here to cast a line or simply kick back, this mountain retreat is the ideal adventure hub for Montanaâs great outdoors!
Inside the Basecamp
The open living area includes a large sectional sofa, smart TV, and a twin-over-full bunk bedâgreat for families or small groups. Enjoy meals together at the dining table for 5, or grab a quick bite at the kitchenâs breakfast bar seating 4.
The private bedroom features a rustic queen-size log bed and a dedicated workspace with high-speed Starlink internetâperfect for remote work or planning your next outing. A full bathroom with a shower/tub combo sits just off the living room.
A front mudroom offers plenty of space to store your fishing gear, and a full-size washer and dryer is located just off the kitchen for added convenience.
Backyard Retreat
Step out back to a spacious yard made for kicking back and having fun. Grill up your catch of the day, dine at the picnic table, or unwind around the fire pit under the stars. Play a round of horseshoes or ladder ballâthereâs something for everyone!
Just next door, Lazy I Beer Works offers craft beer, delicious eats, and live summer music you can enjoy right from the yard.
Guest Access
Guests can access the property using a convenient lockbox with key. Weâre happy to provide local recommendations for dining, activities, and the best fishing spots. While weâre available if you need anything during your stay, we also understand and respect that some guests prefer complete privacy. Enjoy your time however you feel most comfortable!
Other Things to Note:
Holter Lake, a hub for boating, swimming, and fishing, is just 8.9 miles from the property, offering endless recreational opportunities.
Live music at Lazy I Beer Works is available only on weekends during the summer, adding to the seasonal charm of the area. Many businesses in downtown Wolf Creek, including the coffee, ice cream, and sandwich shops, operate seasonally; so plan accordingly for the best experience.
The house has an older heating system; the wall furnace makes a little noise when it fires up.

I also have a fondness for Prosecco, fine food, skiing, running, snorkeling, and paddle boarding â anything that celebrates adventure, flavor, and connection.
David, an avid outdoorsman and teaching and playing golf professional, grew up in Mill Valley, California. His passions include fly fishing, bow hunting, golf, and downhill skiing. He also appreciates fine wine, craft cocktails, and the occasional cigar â savoring life with the same precision and ease that he brings to his golf game.
We raised our two kids in Bozeman, Montana, and now split our time between the Indian Wells desert, our fishing basecamp in Wolf Creek, Montana, and our lakeside retreat in McCall, Idaho. When weâre not in the desert or the mountains, weâre usually exploring somewhere new. Some of our favorite destinations include London, Scotland, Italy, Paris, Spain, Mexico City, Zihuatanejo, the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Tahiti, St. Lucia, the Oregon Coastâ each one inspiring the way we design, host, and live.
