Uusittu järvitalo, joka sijaitsee korkeiden mäntyjen keskuudessa, tarjoaa ylellisyyttä ottaen kaiken mitä luonnossa on tarjota. Ihanteellinen niille, jotka etsivät maaseudun pakopaikkaa. Pidä lasillinen viiniä kannella tai nauti näkymistä kylpytynnyrissä järvelle katsomalla. Makuuhuone sijaitsee ylimmässä kerroksessa ja siinä on king-size-vuode, oma terassi ja oma kylpyhuone. Kylpyhuoneessa on lämmitetyt lattiat, kivi kulkutie, setrikatot, sauna suihkussa ja syvä kylpyamme, oma kylpyhuone on ylellisyyden ruumiillistuma. Muita mukavuuksia ovat lämmitys ja ilmastointi, Wi-Fi koko alueella, pesutupa, jossa pesukone ja kuivausrumpu. Tämä hiljainen yhteisö on loistava paikka päästä pois ja rentoutua. Bellingham Washington stay

The house was awesome, sweet location. We were like a 15 minute drive to downtown Bellingham. Loved the stay and the owners very helpful and available. Would recommend this house very cool place! We did a lot of hiking so hot tub perfect for recovery!

Lovely Short Stay, Could Easily Use for Longer Stays

We really enjoyed our stay at the home, and I'd happily book it again.The location was lovely, comfortable, and worked for what we were seeking, with easy access to both town and a variety of dog-friendly hikes. We were particularly impressed with how well supplied the kitchen was, and with the enclosed dog run. The was also a generous welcoming basket.The hillside construction allows for a lovely view of the lake, and a layout that allows people to find their own space in the house. It also means lots of stairs, which may not be suitable for people with very young children or other mobility limitations.

Great house in beautiful location

We loved staying here! It is so peaceful and lovely. The house is cute and well-appointed, we had everything we needed. My partner loved playing the guitar the owners kindly provide and we enjoyed sitting outside on the deck at dusk and watching the lake. The master bed and living room couch were both comfy.

Great Family Getaway

My husband and I rented the house to spend a week with our adult daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. The neighborhood is great, we loved the relaxing feel of the house, and the hot tub was a hit. Perfect location for all of the day trips we made. The owners were wonderful and very helpful when our daughter left something in the house after checking out. One for the memory books!

Sudden Valley Retreat

We spent a week at this lovely home in Sudden Valley. Perfect location for a visit with our son's family who live in the neighbourhood. The house exceeded our expectations and we hope to stay there again. Beautiful view of the lake and enjoyed being in the treetops.

Relax and enjoy the beauty of the great North West

Very nice place to get away

This was the third time we've stayed in this property. The Sudden Valley area is beautiful and the people there are quite friendly. (That's one of the reasons we're moving there.) The property is well maintained, well equipped, and the owners are very easy to work with.

Great hot tub!

The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Their place was perfect for a galpal weekend away. Kitchen was well stocked, nice layout, hot tub was great (clean and hot), plenty of space to relax and take in the view of the lake. We had a wonderful lunch at Cosmo's in town. We'll definitely be back. I also liked that they didn't overcharge for cleaning, fees, etc...

Great time had by all

We were looking for a getaway for the long weekend and stumbled upon this little gem. We booked it last minute and found Owen very helpful and responsive, before and during our stay. It was a typical pacific northwest weekend, so we didn't make as much use of the decks as we might have but we made more than enough use of the hot tub. The location is great as you are just far enough out of town to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and close enough that you don't feel like it is a pain to go into to if you forgot something. We will for sure return for another stay and would recommend it to all our friends.

Great Lake House on Lake Whatcom!

Wonderful visit to Lake Whatcom using the property as a base camp to exploring the PNW. About 2 hours to North Cascades National Park and 1 1/2 to Mount Baker, home was fully apportioned for all our needs. Excellent stocked kitchen with more than enough appliances and utensils to have many home cooked dinners. Kayaks (2) were great to use during the day and the hot tub after three long days of hiking was just perfect. Patti and Owen were superb hosts and kept us informed about the property and things to do in neighboring Bellingham. It was a perfect stay and definitely recommend others interested in this area to consider staying at the “Grand View”! Thanks Owen and Patti and best wishes.

This is a 4 person house.

Two of the bedrooms are way too small to share, the basement is really musty. Heat wouldn’t work, no hot water! House has a nice master & living space but definitely not a 6 person house. Way over priced.

Very nice!

We had a nice at this property. It's a great space, was very clean (the downstairs bedroom was a little musty smelling) there was a nice welcome card upon our arrival and communication with our hosts was very responsive and they seemed lovely. A fun part of the house was a record player with an awesome selection of music that added to our festivities. A couple suggestions would be to have more outdoor furniture on the deck off the kitchen area - it was so lovely out there but furniture wasn't ideal (2 lounge chairs) and hadn't been cleaned off prior to our arrival as well as maybe less loose gravel on a very steep driveway - thank god for 4x4. We even had a neighbourhood black lab come say hello one evening while we were enjoying the hot tub, he was super friendly and obviously was looking for a dog friend. Thank you to our hosts!

Exactly what I needed

The pictures do not do this house justice. It is a perfect modern cozy cabin. I had zero issues with internet, temperature adjustment, cleanliness, appliances, checking in, etc. I never had to contact the owners to ask questions or complain. I stayed by myself, but I would definitely come back with friends or family. The three bedrooms are nice and spacious. The view of the lake is serene. The hot tub was so relaxing. I brought my dog and he loved the fenced in gravel area on the back of the house where he could do his business. I live in Bellingham, but staying in this luxurious house looking out over Lake Whatcom really felt like I had gotten away from city life and was on a lake house vacation. Can't recommend this property enough. Anybody would have a great time staying here.

Not what expected

Overall the house was clean, but the property size; amenities, and set up disappointing. Avoid this house if steps are an issue. There are 2 flights of stairs from your car to the main level of house, then a 3rd flight to the upper 2 bedrooms. There is no bedroom on the main level. Closet/drawer space was very limited or non existent in the bedrooms. We never got to heat to work properly, but we did manage with the wood stove. Kitchen smaller than expected. Food left from other guests, which other than a few spices and condiments, I feel is very inappropriate. In an attempt to "stage" the rooms, there was too much clutter -- spent time removing things just to have own space to cook and use for personal items. Hot tub did not work, all though we did contact the owner about it, and they did make an attempt to help us, I thought they should not of just assumed all was well, but reached out to check on it. The listing suggests in is much closer to the lake than it is, it is quite a distance and up a steep hill. There is a limited view of the lake from the master bedroom Overall, the house was okay, but disappointing from what our expectations were from the listing

Nice, but......

This property has good and bad aspects. Starting with the good - The location is great. There are nice view of the lake and lots of places to walk (be prepared for hills). The furniture is nice and in good condition. The kitchen is mostly wonderful, except as noted below. The not so good - The listing says this is a 2500 square foot house. I live in a 2300 square foot house and there is no way this house is bigger than mine. Perhaps some of the decks are being counted. I've seen this with other VRBO listings and I don't like it. This will probably be fixed by the time you rent the property, but some outside stairs leading between two levels of the decks were failing. The grill shown in the outdoor pictures is much nicer than what is actually there. The grill was poorly maintained and not clean. The kitchen is well equipped, but some of the pans were in very bad condition. There were non-stick pans that were severely scratched and some other pans with things permanently burned on. The master bath has a nice soaking tub. Problem is, the water heater is not big enough to handle the tub (not the first time I've seen this in a VRBO property). Water heater size seems to not be considered often when installing one of those tubs. The big problem we had was with the heat. The main floor is heated by a heat pump. When it's colder outside, it take a fair bit of messing with the remote control to get the unit to heat well. The unit is in the living room, and the heat does not circulate well to the rest of the downstairs (kitchen, bath, dining area). We were never able to get the master bedroom heat to work, so we brought a portable heater up from the basement. I know that these split systems are economical to install, but this one was poorly designed and doesn't work well at all. One other piece of advice. The driveway is a little tricky to get in and out of. What worked for us was to back in so that we could pull straight out. Made me happy to have the fancy backup camera in our car!

We totally enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we've seen. The patio's outside are huge and we totally took advantage of them. Owners were very responsive to our questions. I would definitely stay in this property again.

Great House

The house was beautiful!! Super, super clean and had everything you could want as far as supplies. Only had to buy groceries. Had an issue with the dishwasher, contacted the owners and they came immediately. Was really, really happy! Highly recommend!!

We are always having an adventure. We're currently in Bellingham and spend a lot time aboard our sail boat. My wife is from Boston and I am from Nova Scotia. We want everyone to enjoy this house as we do!

We fell in love with Bellingham because of it's beauty and laid back vibe and so much nature. We chose this property based on the feeling we had once we first stepped in. The full window face of the house captured our attention as we just starred at the view of the lake. With the remodels heavy on the wood work, we made it cozy and comfortable so we felt we were always in a lake summer home.

It needed a ton of work to make it what we wanted. Our first 2 years of living there we always had contractors walking through our home. Now it is exactly the way we pictured it when we first stepped in. The main focal point it the rock wall behind the wood stove. Gives a great atmosphere while sitting up high above the lake.
