Niin paljon tekemistä - Pontoon, melonta, kylpytynnyri, vesiliukumäki ja perheen hauskaa paikan päällä sijaitsevassa lomahotellissa. Sportsman's Marina Waterin leikkikenttä (3 minuutin ponttonimatka lodgeista) .... Creeper Trail-pyöräretket (Alvarado-asema Creeper Trailissa, jossa on BBQ, jäätelö ja lähtökohta VAIN 9. 1 mailin päässä) ... sekä Barter Theatre ja Summer & Fall Festivaalit.

Löydät keittiö täysin varustettu kaikki mitä tarvitset, jotta vierailustasi nautittavan. Kansi kiertyy talon edessä on suuri kaasugrilli, porealtaat kylpytynnyri ja istuimet neljälle. Kuvittele itsesi istuu kylpytynnyrissä yöllä tähtitaivaan alla etsivät ulos järvelle. Se on mukavaa... Den on tilava näköala järvelle ja suuri kivi takka parantaa iltaisin. Tarjoamme internet ja kaapeli ja kirjaston loistava DVD: n (monet lapsille). Oven ulkopuolella on järven oma yksityinen pieni telakka veneitä, leikkikalut tai paikka vain istua ja kalan kanssa lapsesi. Hop omalla veneellä ja löydät Marina vain alas siten, että on täysi ulkona ravintolassa ja elävää musiikkia koko kesän. Veneitä voi vuokrata venesatamat samoin. On kaunis Etelä Holston pato järven ja Cliff Island, josta löydät lapsille ja aikuisille hyppäämällä kiven reunalla veteen. Auringonlaskut ovat upeita, mutta kääntämällä lehdet syksyllä ovat rikkaita ja värikkäitä sekä ja sitten on talvi kun liota kylpytynnyri näkymät jäätynyt järvi, joka on sanoinkuvaamaton. Lopuksi, kevät saapuu violetti Martins palata meidän Bird Hotel ja ympäri muuttuu vihreäksi kuin elämä kukkii kaikkialla. A wonderful vacation at this lovely lake house

This was our first time to Abingdon and to this house. The house, surrounding mountains and lake far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed all of the house, especially the sunroom and appreciated the many bedrooms. We swam in the lake, kayaked, and used the hot tub everyday. We rented a pontoon boat one day which was fun. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. It was very well equipped for fixing meals at home. We found numerous bath towels for the bathrooms and beach towels to use at the lake. We highly recommend this lake house. There was plenty of room for our family of 10. We hope to come again. I will add photos later.

Perfect Large Wedding Group Destination

This house is fantastic! My son got married in nearby Abingdon, Virginia and we stayed here for the weekend. It was perfect for my 11 adult kids. Spacious, welcoming, perfect gathering areas, great kitchen to cook, and exceptionally clean. Can't recommend this location enough!!

We booked this property due to location on the lake, the pictures did not do it justice the home is everything and more. We celebrated a 70th surprise birthday, company meeting and family time all packed into a weekend. The home was more than full of accommodations that made the weekend perfect.

Beautiful views and enough room for all

Our stay at the Doug Out was wonderful. Two families with young adult kids, everyone had their own bedroom, which was very nice. The house was very cozy but spacious, kitchen was well stocked, several bathrooms and roomy family spaces. The views from the house and property were amazing! Both families brought their ski boats and the dock was great to just jump in the boats and go. This lake is very uncrowded during the week, we kind of felt like we had the water all to ourselves. We all had a great relaxing stay!

Great property, communication problems

Great house, large and comfortable lakefront with hot tub and option to rent a boat for a day. Property manager was difficult to contact and we had to speak to the owner on day of arrival to get an access code to the house.

615 LOL meetup Group comes to Abingdon to bike the VA. Creeper Trail

So we were a little drenched over the weekend with the rain, but that didn't get us down. We enjoyed a bit of time out on the patio with a fire pit.....singing to the guitar and preparing the old girl scout favorite....smores. Other times it was watching the football game, having coffee while overlooking the lake and biking the VA. Creeper trail in the rain. A great weekend it was enjoyed by all. Only 1 suggestion - please let us know where the bean bags are for the corn hole game for next time. We'd love to come back next year!

Exactly What We Needed

Our group of ten active women aged 50-70 gather annually to bike the Creeper Trail and visit. Lucky to have found it for available dates that worked for everyone, this property SUITED US PERFECTLY. There was more than enough room for us and our stuff to either spread out or comfortably convene for meals & games. It is well provisioned and communication with the host were a breeze. We didn’t have a chance to use the kayaks or pontoon but the expansive lakeside views are relaxing & beautiful. Several of our group are considering family reunions at this generously sized & ideal property. It’s handy enough to Abingdon and Damascus but has the nice quiet countryside thing too. The daily rate & fees divided amongst us made it an affordable option to a hotel or smaller properties in town. We were over the moon. Highly recommend- would return tomorrow! Thank you so much, Dougout hosts ❤️

City location helpful for our group

Quiet neighborhood of six houses, lovely lake view from back of house, very steep backyard, topography and short road made talking walks hard. Plenty of towels provided, having washing machine was helpful. Wished we had brought our own glasses because there were only enough for one meal. The kitchen floor was quite dirty so you may need to clean before little kids get on it. The heat was not on when we arrived in frigid weather which was awful for my elderly mother. There was ice at both doorways from the day before, so just watch for that depending on when you come. While not shown in the vrbo pictures, there is a dining table with seven regular chairs. The oven has a convention feature which was wonderful for cooking a turkey. The den was decorated with a festive holiday tree.

Beautiful view from the sunroom! Needs a deep cleaning and some repairs

I must say that the sunroom is incredibly nice and the lakefront is a plus. However, be warned that the walk down to the dock is very steep and not very accessible to elderly folks. We also had an issue with the upstairs toilet leaking onto the floor during our stay. I did notify Bethany, but she did not offer to have anyone look at it. So we just put a floor mat around it to contain so it wouldn’t puddle in the floor. The kitchen is stocked decently, but extremely unorganized. The grill was very dirty and they only had a small 8” grill brush that was worn out and it was impossible to use without burning yourself. The grill also ran out of gas and there was no instructions on where to find a full bottle. I thought to look in the garage and thankfully there was one in there. Bethany did respond to texts, but she averaged 2-3 hours to respond. That was a bit excessive in my mind. Sports TV channels are slim as well.

Beautiful View- Property Needs Maintenance

For the past five years, I book an annual girls trip for 8 girls who went to college together. This is the first year we’ve been a little let down by the rental. This rental felt priced too high for the condition. I think it could easily meet this nightly rate with some TLC. While staying concerns we encountered were: 1. The dock was completely inaccessible and it is a very steep walk down. The path was not manicured and we had to fight our way through a jungle of bushes to get down there. 2. The upper dock was a complete mess with gear everywhere, not clean, or easily accessible. 3. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. I get your on a lake and they are going to exist but we drew the line when 2 giant ants were crawling the wall behind our head as we were seated in the living room. A day later, a giant ant was found on my bed so you can forget an easy nights rest after that experience. 4. Several towels provided actually had holes in them. I was mortified to see a friend come out with a quarter sized hole in a towel wrapped around her body. 5. There is no where to hang clothes in the master. The closet is inaccessible so that is awkward. Overall, the view and location can’t be beat I’m sure that is what sells this property. On the inside, it’s more of a family home than a cabin. It needs some updates. I’m not sure our group would return, at least not at $600 a night for this set up. If you don’t mind staying in someone’s home then this might work for you.

We are a BIG family (6 daughters, son-in-laws, and 15 grandchildren) that enjoy spending time together. This home has provided a beautiful setting where we grill and cook - boat and fish - dance and play throughout all the seasons.
