'Helton creek mökki' on 7 makuuhuoneen, 3. 5 kylpy, melkein 3000 neliömetrin mökki, joka voidaan vuokrata joko 3 makuuhuoneen pääkerroksena tai molemmina kerroksina hieman enemmän. Täydellinen perheelle, joka haluaa tulla vuorille rentoutumaan, kalastamaan ja leikkimään viileässä vuoristovirrassa. Keittiö on täysin varustettu ruokasalipöydällä, johon mahtuu 6, ja baarilla, johon mahtuu lisäksi 2. Lasiovi aukeaa katetulle kuistille, jossa on kaasugrilli, patiohuonekalut, patio 6 tuolilla ja kylpytynnyri (4 henkilöä) täysin yksityisyydellä. Takakansi on aivan valtion ylläpitämässä taimenvirtauksessa, Helton Creek. Kuvittele vain grillaa ja rentoutua upeassa porealtaassa kuunnellen puron ääniä. Takakuistilla on aidattu piha, jossa on portti lasten leikkiä ja koirien juoksua varten. Lemmikkieläimet ovat tervetulleita, jos ne täyttävät lemmikkieläinten lisäyksessä esitetyt ehdot ja niistä veloitetaan nimellinen maksu. Tämä hytti on varustettu pinottu pesukone ja kuivausrumpu. Everything you could want in a cabin and more. Beautiful river, large fenced yard with a fire pit and chairs, plenty of adult and kids toys. Also a large deck looking out over the stream, grill and a jacuzzi. Our family made great memories.

Unmaintained & Dirty

Upon opening the front door, there was a strong odor of moth balls. I am unsure what the owner is doing with the cleaning fee, because this place was really dirty. The empty fridge shelves were dirty, the front of all the appliances were really dirty. All the batteries for the TV remotes were dead. The outdoor patio table was disgusting. The hot tub had an algae/scum line 1 inch tall and smelled (not chemical smell, but nasty). And then for the surprise when going to bed, no sheets on the bed, had to put them on ourselves. Oh, and the fireplace didn't work and after reaching out to owner about it, they refused to help with the fireplace.

Nice property!

We enjoyed our stay, the backyard with the stream and the fire pit were awesome as was the hot tub and the fun Christmas decorations. Our only disappointment were the televisions. We always watch football bowl games on our New Year’s stay and we were disappointed in the televisions at the property, two of the three TVs were very small and very outdated.

Helton Creek Cabin

This was a return visit for our family reunion. We came 4 years ago. Hosts are easy to work with and make you feel welcome. Plenty of sleeping space for our group of 20. The main rooms are a bit small to accommodate that many people all at once but there’s plenty of space to spread out otherwise. We all had a great time!

Perfect Family Retreat!

Wonderful experience from reservation through the end of our 3-week stay! The location is quiet and private, yet convenient to anything you might need or want to do. Loved to view the cows, horse, and goats across the road. We rented the entire main cabin and the guest cabin which accommodated us, our 3 kids, their spouses, and our 5 grandchildren beautifully. The porches were spacious and offered great views. We had room for family meals on the back porch! The fully fenced yard was perfect ~ lots of room to run and play, pick blueberries and black raspberries, and hide in the "secret" space behind the apple trees and grape arbor. We enjoyed conversation and S'mores around the firepit. The creek was an integral part of the experience and provided hours of entertainment for everyone ~ whether playing in it, fishing, or just sitting by it. The stars and fireflies were pure magic! Helton Creek Cabin is the perfect antidote to modern daily life!!!

Great family getaway

Enjoyed our time with family the first since the pandemic started. Did not have high expectations for amenities as the pictures and descriptions were accurate. However we spent the first night cleaning as the basic cleaning was done but the advertised "deep cleaning " was anything but that - including needing to put the bed covers through the dryer as several were covered in cat hair. Great spot to bond, just be prepared to need to clean.

Best. Christmas. Ever.

Our party stayed Christmas to New Years, 2020. This consisted of adults, teenagers, five children under 6 and one chubby dog. Finding a place that could even accommodate us was a daunting task, much less something pet-friendly. Helton Creek not only accommodated us but treated our family to the most magical Christmas ever. Once we arrived, we could tell that so much love had been put into this cabin. Special touches were everywhere. From the Christmas-decorated fireplace, to the hand-made pottery and beautiful decorations outside. The cabin itself is huge. Amazingly, everyone had plenty of space and not once did anyone feel crowded. We spent time relaxing, playing board games together, and visiting West Jefferson. (Do not leave without some cheese from the cheese shop or spices from the spice shop. Confession: Hubby and I brought almost ten pounds of cheese home in our cooler by ourselves, not including what we ate at the cabin. Yes, it was THAT good.) Now, I am a Southern woman, so let me tell y'all about this kitchen. It had EVERYTHING. Someone would say, "Oh i forgot xyz." but then you'd hear, "Oh wait, I found one." There were beautifully seasoned cast-iron skillets, a16-quart pot, seasoned ceramic cookie trays (my favorite), two! coffee pots (yes, we used both, every morning) and more... I was in heaven. The only drawback is that there is no room in the cabinets for groceries, but we just used counter space, so no worries there. The hot tub was fantastic for relaxing on cold nights, and it serendipitously snowed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. None of the teens or kids had ever seen so much snow (Alabama snow is sad. Very sad.), and the dog was a little confused at first. But we loved watching the kiddos (and dog) run around the fenced yard and play in the snow and having snowball fights. We had a bonfire and s'mores, it was fantastic. For me personally, my favorite thing would be waking up early, before anyone else, sitting outside on the rocking chair, listening to the sound of the creek and watching the sun come up whilst sipping my coffee. Having those quiet moments to myself watching and hearing the beauty of creek was so relaxing. Words cannot express my gratitude in being able to rent this cabin for our friends and family after such a crazy, stressful year. We are already discussing schedules for summer trip next year!! We loved it here!

Perfect getaway

The first floor of the cabin was ideal for our family of four. Having the option of just renting this section was amazing. The amenities were great (ie hot tub and fire pit). The kitchen had more dishes and pots and pans than my own home! We would absolutely rent this location again.

Long awaited family vacation

For the first time in 30 years my three sisters and I decided to go on vacation together. The last time my sisters and I were teenagers. Now our families have grown and we have grandchildren. We had a wonderful time , making new memories for our children. I can't wait to go back. It is a perfect place for a large family , very good for toddlers , my only regret was not taking my dog , it is certainly pet friendly. Weather was wonderful.

Family getaway

We had an amazing time relaxing and bonding! We had 5 of our 6 kids and one of the 2 grandkids, plus my mom. We had plenty of space to sleep as well as relax in the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

The 4th in 2020

We enjoyed our stay very much. The children are younger and loved wading in the creek. The fenced in side yard was very nice so we felt more comfortable with little ones outsides. We had two nights using the fire pit and doing S'mores. Also played music around it... There was corn hole and horseshoes to play. The kitchen had many accessories and we had no problems cooking there. It is conveniently located a short distance away from West Jefferson which has some nice restaurants. Loved watching the cows across the road...Thank you for such a wonderful family time. Wanda Dahl

Beautiful creek.....great location!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The size of it was wonderful for our large family, the creek behind the house was a great hit with the grandchildren! We enjoyed early morning coffee on the porches with the Creek in the background. One of our main reasons for visiting this area was to go to Grayson Highlands State Park and the location of this cabin couldn’t be better .....it’s not but maybe a 15 minute drive! I do think a cabin of this size could benefit from a larger hot water heater. Even with spacing showers/baths out, we kept running out of hot water. Overall.....we enjoyed our stay here and would probably rent it again.....as I said, it’s great for large groups and families with kids or grandchildren!

We got married here. Filled both cabins. Pets were allowed we paid a pet deposit. The cabin was big enough to accommodate my group. Snowed 2 days and rain the last had no power the day we left. The owner emailed me to say he wanted to charged my insurance for a dirty lid claimed I had more animals than I did and wanted to charge an extra cleaning fee because his cleaning person complained. We had 21 people for five days and no water to clean up. The owner is ridiculous. Wanting to replace a DIRTY lid not damaged. Also complain the comforter had to be washed. Really!! They should do that anyway. Nice place bad owners

We purchased this cabin because of our love for the mountains and trout streams. We have four children and their spouses/grand children/friends. The cabin is just far enough away for the big cities to get lost in the mountain serenity.
