Tietoja majoituspaikasta

Tervetuloa kotisi poissa kotoa. Vuonna 2013 kävimme mailakerho puutarhahuviloissa ja rakastuimme omaisuuteen. Kun saavut avatulle 37 asunnon yhteisölle, se on kuin astumalla ihanaan keitaan. Jokainen yksikkö on kumpikin kätkeytyneenä kauniin puron varrella, joka kulkee uima-altaan päätilasta alas kohti vanhaa mailakerhoa etäähän. Ostimme tämän itsenäisen asunnon ja viime aikoina toteutimme täydellisen palautuksen.

Yksiköllämme on kaksi makuuhuonetta ja yksi kylpyhuone. Valitsemamme kalusteet ovat kaikki vuosisadan puolivälissä moderneja. Sekä pää- että vierashuoneessa on räätälöity pähkinäpuoli. Jokaisella on suuri säilytystila sängyn rungon alla. Päälliköllä on king-size patja ja toisessa makuuhuoneessa queen-size-patja. Molemmilla on erittäin mukavat patjat, joissa korkealaatuiset liinavaatteet ja tyynyt.

Keittiössä on kaikki mitä tarvitset kotiruoan valmistukseen. Kaasugrilli sijaitsee ruokasalin terassilla. Kaapit ovat kaikki mustaa pähkinää, kiinteät pintatasot.

Kylpyhuoneessa on valkoinen italialainen carrera-marmori ja suihkussa on vakiona suihkupää ja kaksi vartalo-suihketta.

Valittavana on kolme terassia ... Yksi iso tila makuuhuoneesta kahdella kiesitilo-tuolilla. Toinen iso terassi on pois pää- ja keittiötilasta, ja siihen mahtuu 4 henkeä. Viimeinen terassi on ruokailutilan ulkopuolella ja siinä on pieni oleskelualue 2 hengelle.

Helmikuussa 2019 tätä yksikköä esitellään modernismin viikolla ja kiertueella historiallisissa mailakerhojen puutarhahuviloissa.

Vuonna 2013 mailakerho-puutarhahuvilat saivat palmujousien historian kolmannen kaupungin historiallisen nimityksen. Tämä yhteisö säilytetään ikuisesti seuraavien sukupolvien ajan ja voi nauttia tästä ihastuttavasta keitasta, joka näyttää vievän sinut ajassa taaksepäin.

Historia: Mailakerho puutarhahuvilat rakennettiin vuonna 1959 kuuluisan palmujousien mailakerhon viereen, koska se oli ylivuoto Hollywood-kuuluisuuksille ja vieraille, jotka halusivat pidempään oleskeluun kuuluisan tenniskerhon lähellä.

Mailakerho puutarhahuviloilla on kolminkertainen sukutaulu:
1. Arkkitehti: William Cody
2. Urakoitsija: Paul Trousdale
3. Maisema-arkkitehti: Phil Shipley

Siellä on 37 yksikköä, jotka sijaitsevat rehevässä, vehreässä maisemoinnissa. Kaunis virta kulkee koko kiinteistön alueella. Asuntohuoneistot suunniteltiin posti- ja palkkiarkkitehtuurilla. Jokaisessa yksikössä on suuret ikkunat ja lasi. Kiinteistön ulkoasuun ja suuntautumiseen kiinnitettiin paljon huomiota. Mailakerho oli paikka nähdä ja nähdä 1940-, 50- ja 60-luvuilla. Marilyn monroen sanottiin löytäneen uima-allas mailakerhossa.

Tämä on pieni, hiljainen yhteisö. Jos etsit paikkaa juhlia tai kovaa musiikkia uima-altaan äärellä, tämä ei ole oikea paikka sinulle. Meille ja muille asukkaille tämä on rentouttava retriitti (painopiste hoitoon!) ulkomaailmasta.

Highly recommend Brent's condo in Racquet Club Cottages West

Racquet Club Cottages West is a magical place, and I give Brent, his team and his condo the highest recommendation possible. This property has it all: style, comfort, convenience, cleanliness, easy parking and location. It's quiet, the neighbors are lovely, the pool is wonderful, and the views to Mt. San Jacinto are fantastic. My wife and I loved morning coffee on the patio near the kitchen, or from inside looking out. We got immediate responses whenever we had a question, and communication was excellent. Just book it. You'll be glad you did.

Terrific Value

The condo is a dream house, with an architectural design that takes advantage of the environment. The sun and mountains surround you visible from every angle. The location is perfect and it is quiet around the beautiful pool.

Wonderful accommodations, location and amenities!

My wife and I could not have been more please with our stay. This was a wonderful property; stylish, charming, historically significant, comfortable, safe, quiet, beautifully landscaped, convenient to downtown Palm Springs (30 minute walk), the Aerial-Tramway, the airport, walking tours, restaurants. It has 3(!) lovely patios, 1 each off the LR, DR and MBR, which extends the space and offers more room for privacy. It is a stand alone, single story unit, so remarkably quiet. Parking is in a carport that's an easy, flat walk to the unit. The community pool/spa was large,heated, and lightly used. We were often the only ones there. A huge plus...the mattresses were extremely comfortable, the best I've experienced! We actually took pictures of the brand and are buying them for our home. Check in/out was remarkably easy. Here are a couple items that, while non-issues for us, may impact your decision to stay here. The property is located near the NW corner of the valley, just as you enter from LA. It's opposite from Palm Desert/La Quinta, which are far SE. Not an issue for us, but if you're an avid golfer you may prefer staying further south, where the majority of golf courses lay. You're also, periphally, near the airport. The planes take off to the northeast of the property, a couple miles away, but you do see and hear them. They aren't loud, there aren't many and we didn't find it obtrusive or distracting, but in fairness it's something that you should know. Finally, this is a small community. There is a pool, hot tub and lush, quiet grounds. If you're looking for action this is not the space for you. For us it was an oasis of tranquility...a perfect vacation spot. We're already planning our return.

Perfect mid century house

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Palm Springs.The pictures were exactly like the reality.This little gated community is very pleasant: it was quiet, the garden well kept up, the pool clean and warm and the house had lots of light with many windows.(This was the best part of the rental).We would recommend it to any one wanting to spend time in this area.

The Villa Was Perfect

This was our second stay at the property and living in it was a treat. There’s all kinds of good things I can say but I’ll limit to it’s exceptional cleanliness and maintenance and special features including the appropriate mid-century furnishings, the many floor-to-ceiling windows, the three patios and the numerous art, architecture and local books and magazines available throughout the house. It’s also located in, what I’d consider, the ideal spot within the Racquet Club villas. True to the listing, the area is quiet and relaxing. For us, the villa was perfect.

Palm Springs Oasis

This is the second time I have stayed at this property and definitely plan to return . It is meticulously kept and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well-equipped with ample dishes, utensils, dishtowels, and cookware. There are also plenty of very comfortable bath towels , bed linens, and pillows. The three patios give a nice variety of sun and shade, depending on the time of day. Each one has chairs for sitting or lounging, and each area feels like its own little oasis. Alisse is very responsive and wonderful to work with. Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic place to stay

Loved the unit we stayed in - exactly like the photos and very comfortable. The complex with pool and gardens was also a treat. It's a quiet and peaceful area and is a quick drive to the center of town and a great base for exploring Palm Springs and further afield. Would stay here again.

Perfect Palm Springs experience

This was our second stay at this lovely condo (and 4th time at RCGV), and we hope it won’t be our last. The complex is serene, modernist, and lushly landscaped (hummingbirds and bougainvillea abound), and the condo is comfortable, tastefully decorated, and spacious. Great communication from the owner and manager. Overall ideal experience.

Alisse has done an incredible job furnishing the William Cody mid century condo. There are great patios off the master bedroom and living room. The unit was very quiet. We would definitely come back again!!!

Absolutely delightful modernist gem!

Wow, did we love this place! We've spent many, many nights in Airbnb and HomeAway properties; this was the absolute best. It's beautifully set up as a sophisticated rental...it has everything you could need, but no personal detritus to get in the way! The place is spotlessly clean and very, very comfortable. The quality of the property as a rental aside, it is also ideal way to sample the vision of the midcentury modernists and the seamless indoor/outdoor lifestyle they built. This complex was designed by William Cody, one of the desert's principal modernist architects. The unit's three patios and walls of glass make it feel twice the size. Cody built multi-thousand foot homes for wealthy midcentury desert-goers; this property allows you to sample the best of those homes in a much more affordable way! Beyond the unit itself, the grounds are park-like, with trees clearly planted in the 1920's (the complex was built on the grounds of the 1920's-era Racquet Club hotel). It's rare to be surrounded by such mature trees in the desert. And beyond the trees lies one of the best mountain views in the entire city (the sheer face the aerial tram uses to climb the mountain). Finally, the owners are wonderful and responsive. We had to delay our arrival due to an unexpected funeral, and were greeted by a beautiful flower arrangement. Wonderful. We highly recommend this place!

Amazing condo in Palm Springs

From the time we opened the door and walked in we were so impressed with this beautifully decorated, comfortable unit. When we awoke the first morning we enjoyed the view of the mountains and palm trees from the bedroom. It is close to the pool and hot tub, which we used each day. The main patio has a wall of red flowers, making it private and peaceful. It is a short drive to downtown. We hate to leave and hope to return next winter!

Comfort in Paradise

Hate to leave this beautiful mid-century modern place. Spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated. Steps from the lushly landscaped, low-key pool area. A perfect spot to get some vitamin D and chill out. Communication with owner / onsite manager was flawless. We hope to return next year.

Perfection.

It was absolutely heavenly waking up to the sound of a nearby water stream, the sight of palm trees and mountains from a cozy bed, in a perfectly decorated, well thought out villa. This villa is tucked away in a gated community that feels like it is its own world; but, at the same time, it is conveniently located near everything you could want or need in Palm Springs. This villa is perfectly located...literally across from the community pool, which is never crowded. It is also next to the stream that runs through the community. It has floor-to-ceiling windows throughout that bring in the bright, beautiful cheerfulness from the outside (blinds are also available for privacy). It also has 3 private courtyards perfect for sunning, dinners, drinks or playing outside for young children. The villa was extremely clean, well laid out and well designed. I'm very particular about cleanliness, and it was as if no one had ever stayed in the place but us. The design and flow is beautiful, adding to the relaxing vibe. Every little detail about it was special; nothing was overlooked. If you are looking for the Palm Springs vibe, a relaxing vacation and a special getaway, I highly recommend a stay here. I previously vacationed at The Parker and recommend this over it without hesitation. To me it was perfection.

Our family had a fantastic time staying at this villa. It is in a great location and close to all that Palm Springs has to offer. The owners have done a great job to decorate the villa with mid century modern furniture furniture. The views of the mountains and pool are nice features.

Alisse and I are interested in and inspired by mid-century modern architecture and design. We live in Norman, Oklahoma and both work in the design and construction business. We spend as much time as possible in Palm Springs and enjoy lazy afternoons at the pool.
