Tilava, hiljattain remontoitu asunto (1118 neliömetriÀ) historiallisessa viehÀttÀvÀssÀ Alger-pisteessÀ, suoraan joen yli ranskalaisesta kaupunginosasta. Siirry pÀivÀllÀ lauttaan vuosineljÀnnekseen ja palaa yöllÀ kotiin New Orleansin toiseksi vanhimpaan naapurustoon ja nauti viehÀtyksestÀ (ja hiljaisuudesta!) kerrottuasi jÀlkeen.

Yksi New Orleansin turvallisimmista osista ja lÀhellÀ kaikkea. Upea paikka perheille tai perheryhmille. Vauvan vÀlttÀmÀttömyydet (pack-n-play, syöttötuoli ja lasten ruokailuvÀlineet) toimitetaan.

Location location location! Quiet friendly neighborhood with locally owned restaurants, bars and groceries. Quick walk to the ferry and you’re at Canal street. The shotgun house was different but still worked for our group.

Arrived to the property an hour early, house was unkempt and had not been turned over, found out that he forgot that we were coming that day. We left for him to do the cleaning and came back a couple of hours later, it was not very clean. The bathroom had hair still in it, all the glasses had lip stains and food on them despite them being put back on the shelf, there was a mess in the freezer, the floors were filthy, the paint was peeling on the ceiling, the complementary food was over 6 months expired, the ice trays were not cleaned, and it was overall not a very welcoming space. We have photos of everything.

The most comfy beds!

In town for a family reunion, so we had two families stay in the rental. The rooms are exactly as described in the listing. Each room was quite roomy and perfectly clean with thoughtful, small touches. The kitchen had everything one might need to cook, snack, and enjoy coffee or tea. We rent often and, by far, this rental has the best mattresses we’ve ever slept on! Each bed, including the day bed in the living room, was super comfortable. We all slept extremely well and were surprised at just how nice the mattresses are. We also enjoyed having a cafe and a few corner stores that we could walk to. The check-in and check-out processes were also the easiest, ever. No stripping the beds, starting the laundry or dishwasher. Just turn off the lights and thermostat, and that’s it. If we have need to stay on the west bank again, we know we can’t go wrong by renting this place. I gave this a 5 star review, but we had an issue with one of the toilets that wouldn’t consistently flush. However, it didn’t sullen our stay and Josh was very responsive.

Short trip to NOLA with the fam

Absolutely loved it here. The neighborhood is amazing, it’s welcoming and traditional New Orleans . The neighbors were SO friendly and helpful. The home beautiful and I was a little scared of the location at first because it’s across the river, BUT if I ever come back, this will be where I stay because a short ferry ride gets you everywhere you need to go for two bucks compared to trying to drive everywhere and paying obscene parking this is the way to do it! We actually bought the day pass for 3 per adult/1 per child and that way we could ride the ferry and the street cars and everything to get where we needed to go. I cannot say enough good things about this location and this home it was a treat to stay here!

Cozy family friendly stay near the French Quarter

We had an incredible stay in this home. The house was exactly as advertised and was comfortable and fully stocked. It was a nice quiet retreat away from the busy French Quarter. I would highly recommend this house for a family.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

The property was just as pictured! No hidden surprises. It gave us a homey feel and the neighbors and neighborhood added to that ambiance. Our stay was short, only four days, but we gathered on the front porch daily to drink in the scenery and enjoy the outdoors! The area is centrally located and convenient to all areas of the city on both banks of the river. Thank you Josh and we look forward to staying in your beautiful home again !

Just Perfect

My husband and I always stay in Algiers whenever we visit New Orleans. This rental was beyond perfect for us. Not only is it convenient to the Ferry and our favorite breakfast and taco spots, but it has all the amenities of home. It was clean and comfortable. There was even a welcome goody basket in the kitchen. Our host was quick to respond to any questions we had. The hidden patio in the back was a perfect coffee spot each morning! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

A cozy retreat in a jewel of a neighborhood

The house was lovely and comfortable for my entire family of 5. Algiers Point is perfect for families with the park just outside the house and so many restaurants and cafes within a few blocks. Getting to other spots of interest is easy and doesn't take long at all by car. Josh truly went above and.beyind to make our stay special. We look forward to staying here again

Excellent Location

This was a perfect location for our visit. We weren't there for the nightlife but for cultural experiences and relaxation. The home is charming and comfortable. The neighborhood is perfect. While some gentrification has occured there is still an interesting mix of people who live in the neighborhood. We were surrounded by parks, dog walkers, kids walking to and from school, charming restaurants, and beautiful homes. We took the ferry to and from the French Quarter area every day.

Adorable Shotgun Style house in a clean neighborhood that’s close to everything.

We had a great stay here. The property is well maintained and very clean. The neighborhood is quiet and clean but still close to the ferry and other attractions. The local community is pretty cool. Lots of fun places to eat and shop. My favorite part of the property was the backyard oasis. It is full of greenery and set up so well. This is a great place to stay with a small group or a family.

Hidden Gem

This house in Algiers Point was definitely a hidden gem! The neighborhood was lovely. There were little stores, cafes and bars that you could walk to. The ferry was just a few blocks away. My family and I had a wonderful stay. The house was fully stocked. Whatever you thought you might need was provided by the host. Our host Josh was very accommodating. He was available to answer any questions and offer suggestions. I can’t say enough about how nice the property was. It’s far enough away from the city to have some peace and quiet and close enough to enjoy all the festivities of the city. I highly recommend staying there when you visit the New Orleans area.

Perfect Family Trip

This house was just what we needed. Josh went above and beyond to make his home feel like our home. Kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of towels, sheets, pillows and blankets. Josh had awesome communication and was happy to help with whatever was needed. This was a perfect house for our perfect family getaway of 6 adults. Thank you!!!

An oasis that's a ferry ride away from the party

Gorgeous place, super walkable neighborhood, friendly neighbors and such a peaceful place to be after the party across the river.

I have lived in New Orleans for 19 years. I really enjoy sharing New Orleans.

In my time here I have lived all around the city, including Bywater, Marigny Triangle, French Quarter, Broadmoor, and Algiers Point. I even lived in a FEMA trailer for a short time (not recommended).

This apartment was built in1898 and renovated in 2014, and has housed generations of New Orleanians in this neighborhood that once consisted of sugar plantations.

This renovated apartment is in a double-shotgun home typical of New Orleans neighborhoods built around that time. Algiers Point was founded in 1719 and is the second oldest neighborhood New Orleans, after the French Quarter (1718). We are directly across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter.

"The Point" (as locals refer to it) has several popular coffee shops and restaurants, including Tout de Suite, a hyperlocal coffee and breakfast nook across directly across Veterans Memorial Park about a block from the rental. There is a corner grocery, Faubourg Fresh Market, three houses down as well. Algiers Point has bars and restaurants that both locals and visitors enjoy, and its own live music scene, particularly at the Old Point Bar, which you may recognize from the many movies that have been filmed there. It is also a quiet and serene retreat from the French Quarter, just a 5-minute ferry ride across the River.

The Algiers Point Ferry is an approximately 1/4 mile walk, and drops you at the base of Canal Street, adjacent to the French Quarter, as well as the Central Business District. The ferry stop is also adjacent to the Riverwalk Mall (a large outlet mall along the river) and is a block from Harrah's Casino.

Historic neighborhood similar in appearance to the French Quarter (but better preserved). Short ferry ride (5 mins or so) to French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. But quiet at night so you can recover from your revelries and prepare for tomorrow's. :-)
