The location was better than advertised, and so were the views from the lanai! The pictures are great, and yet they still don’t do it justice. The bed was comfortable, the linens and towels were clean, and everything worked well. Milo and Theresa were wonderful hosts, easy to contact, and just kind people. The pool and hot tub of The Hanalei Bay Resort are second to none. We hope to be back!

Overall we love Hanalei Bay Resort, and the ocean views from the large balcony were amazing. Unfortunately, the listing and photos depict this unit as being much larger than it really is. The unit is more like a studio apartment with the bed and couch taking up most of the livable space. My wife and I had very little room to put our luggage and other belongings. The appliances and furniture could use an update, the shower door leaks water all over the bathroom floor, there are so many rules with this particular unit that it doesn’t really feel like a vacation. We spent so much time cleaning and following rules that we felt like we were walking on eggshells instead of enjoying our Anniversary! Also, the owners want their guests to purchase travel insurance during their stay and we were reminded to purchase this several times! We’ve stayed at this resort four times now and no other owners have requested travel insurance. Lastly, the owners said to reach out with any issues and we did with an urgent request, but they failed to respond until the next day and it was too late at that point. Ultimately, we did get the issue fixed, but we had to do it ourselves. With that said, it is conveniently located near the pool and parking lot and check-in and check-out were easy.

Honeymoon at HBR

We stayed in this property over a week and can’t wait to come back! Milo was a great host and the place was very well maintained/clean. The location and amenities at HBR were perfect along with the stunning views!

Beautiful view/great location

The view from this unit is amazing! Loved spending time on the balcony staring at the mountains and ocean. Short walk down to a beautiful beach (or can get a ride from the resort golf carts to and from the beach). Great pool and hot tub that was never too crowded. Decent restaurant on site with an amazing view. Check in process was easy and communication with owners was great. Short car ride to Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea, and many beaches. Would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous property and views

Very comfortable studio with a small kitchen. Great for 2 people. Made almost all my own meals ansent a lot of time on the 3rd floor patio overlooking the pool with a nice view of the mountains and Hanalei Bay.

Beautiful resort on a beautiful island

We absolutely loved our time on Kauai and at Hanalei Bay Resort. Milo was a great host who did an awesome job providing us with instructions that made the whole process very seamless. The property itself was exactly as described in the VRBO listing, and we really enjoyed the resort overall. After checking in and hanging out for a bit we decided to hike down to the beach for the sunset and it was beyond amazing. The views of the bay and of the mountains is one that we won’t forget. We were only there for a few days, as we were hopping around to some other islands, but we will definitely be back as soon as we can make it work.

Perfect location

We absolutely loved it here. The location was perfect for us, both within the complex as well as what we wanted to do. We loved that it has a semi-private beach as well as being in walking distance to our favorite snorkel beach (which is impossible to find parking at). We chose this place initially because it was one of the few available with a full kitchen (we both have strict diets and eating out every meal is difficult), but in the end we loved where it was located and the most perfect view we had every morning waking up. Milo always responded right away the few times we had questions.

The best view on the resort!

Milo and Theresa were lovely and responsive hosts. My husband and I had such a wonderful time here and the photos really don’t do this place justice. The condo feels so spacious with the tall ceiling, the warm lighting makes it very cozy, but you can brighten it up more if you want to, we barely heard any noise from neighbors, and we slept so soundly. The view was surreal: you can see a bunch of waterfalls in the mountains, especially after a heavy rain. You can also see more of Hanalei Bay than is pictured! The beach was fantastic and never very crowded, and the pool and hot tub were a lot of fun. We loved the food, live music, view, and atmosphere at Happy Talk Lounge, and the staff overall was super friendly. If you don’t want to wake up with the birds/you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend you bring some ear plugs! We will definitely be back!

Exceeded expectations

Our host, Milo, is the perfect host. His on time communication, attention to detail, and willingness to be at our beckon call was very important to us. Although we never needed anything, it was wonderful to know he was a phone call away. The studio: Absolutely amazing location with views of the mountains, bay, and well kept resort grounds. It was very clean, well stocked, tastefully decorated, and the washer/dryer was a huge bonus. Check in was very easy and the staff were as friendly and helpful as they could be. The resort grounds are well kept and constantly being maintained. As an active, mid 60 year old couple celebrating 42 years of marriage; having never been to the islands before, this was a dream come true and the HBR, the studio, and Milo made it happen. Relaxing stay at HBR-Princeville

Great experience renting this unit at the HBR from Milo and Theresa. From start to finish the reservation process was a breeze. Milo is very responsive to inquiries and we couldn’t have asked for a better unit for our 4 nt stay in Princeville. This smaller unit was perfect for a couple and the location was A+. The pool is literally steps away and there is convenient parking just outside :) We really appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella that was provide in the unit, although we didn’t need the beach umbrella for the few days we ventured out to Anini Beach since there is plenty of shade available. We absolutely loved this beach!! We were in luck since the pool bar at the HBR has now opened back up, but still has limited days it seemed. We were here Thursday 6/24- Sunday 6/27 and we received a msg from the front desk that the pool bar would be unavailable from Sunday 6/27 - Wednesday 6/30. The Happy Talk bar and restaurant is still closed though. Getting to Hanalei Bay is still quite a mess due to the landslide and although it’s only a few miles away, they are still adhering to a schedule of times allowed to access the road in and out of Hanalei Bay. Hopefully this will be resolved in the near future. Lots of dining options in the area, but we found that the Kilauea Market Cafe in the town of Kilauea had great options for meals and we actually dined there all 4 nts. They offer a daily dinner special and are located inside the market. Their burgers are outstanding, individual pizzas very good and we never had a bad meal there :) Definitely check them out. We would 💯 recommend this unit to a couple looking to explore Princeville and Hanalei Bay.

What a beautiful property! We loved our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort and will definitely be coming back. The communication with the host was excellence and the unit had all the accommodations that we needed. The only downside is the parking at HBR can be very difficult in the evenings, but it is manageable. I highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a relaxing place to call home while exploring the north coast.

Fantastic

Amazing view of Hanalei Bay from balcony. The unit was nicely furnished, and the bed was comfortable. Appliances - coffee machine, microwave, etc - worked well. Easy parking, smooth check in/out process. We loved our stay and would definitely do it agan.

A little peice of Heaven

I have stayed at this resort before and was super impressed with the pool, restaurant and location however this unit blew me away. It has an awesome view, full kitchen and high ceilings. The bathroom was spacious. We had coffee on the balcony enjoying the view of mountains and the pool area. Bigger than their typical units. Felt like a house. Beautiful canopy king sized bed and good air-conditioning. Milo communicated proactively with lists of anything you need to know. Super sweet and professional. I will be back for sure. What a wonderful anniversary trip! Highly recommend. Thank you Milo!

Beautiful area and the studio was as advertised. Hanalei Bay is picturesque and photos do not do it justice. The resort was gorgeous, had excellent amenities and out-of-this-world landscaping. Would definitely return! Thanks Milo!

Hanalei Bay Resort is widely regarded as one of the best places to stay on the island of Kauai. There are two pools (one of them voted one of the top 10 in the country) situated on 22 acres of tropical acres with ocean and sunset views, lush foliage and a paved path to Pu' u Po'a Beach. The Resort is unlike most condos on the island because
they have concierge service with an activities desk, maid service on request (additional cost) the Happy Talk restaurant/bar and a gift shop. Another restaurant should be opening this summer.....

Unlike some of the units that have 8 ft ceilings, our condo has 16 ft. cathedral ceilings making the space even more spacious and airy. Studio has its own private lanai, with outdoor sitting to enjoy your incredible views or to enjoy the nightly live entertainment coming from Happy Talk Restaurant.

This is one of the few unit where you DO NOT need a "shuttle" to be taken to unit. It is located right next to the parking lot. Most units at Hanalei Bay Resort require a use of a personal shuttle bus to reach their destination.
