Terrible

The water smelled like sulfur. Brown and black debris came from the faucets. Very low water pressure. Washed towels and they turned orange. The outside needs upkeep. The inside needs to be updated. Wood chair on the deck is rotted. The grill is a mess. The deck needs new flooring. The steps leading to the lake are extremely slippery from all the moss and mold. DO NOT STAY HERE. mossand molneeds

Cozy Stay By The Lake

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great time staying at Lakeside Memories! Plenty of space (we had three families with 6 small children), a GREAT loft area, fire place, and very nice view. The master tub is HUMONGOUS and jetted. The hot tub is newer and very relaxing. While the mattresses were a bit springy, we all still got good nights of sleep. We loved relaxing by the fire watching the snow out the windows. Our only complaint is that there was no hand soap in the house, nor any surface cleaners that we could find. Hand soap seems like a NECESSITY that the rental company could refill when cleaners come. There also was a coffee maker but no filters which seemed kind of strange. It's on the top of a hill on a small road, so our FWD van did slip a bit getting there in the snow, but luckily we made it and tucked in for the weekend. :) Would definitely consider going back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was very satisfied with the size of the house. Lots of room to spread out. Hot tub was fun, good size! View was absolutely amazing. Really great price for the house. Truly my only complaint would be that the bedspreads/sheets on all of the beds were a tad bit questionable. One of the bedspreads (downstairs room to the right)had a stain on it that was extremely disgusting and potentially a health hazard judging off what it looked like. I was in the master suite and also chose to not use the bedspread or sheets as they just really didn't look, or feel, clean. The beds were not the most comfortable and I did have a few guests opt to sleep on air mattresses instead of the beds. Other than that, it was a lovely stay. OH, I so appreciated all the goodies such as dishwashing soap, detergent, toilet paper but I would have loved to know that this was provided...I went and purchased all of this beforehand!

Yearly family trip

Overall, we had a great time. The house has a well equipped kitchen, dock, fire pit, deck and gas grill. Quiet community, close to to restaurants and stores. Only negative was the house was very dusty. All surfaces needed to be dusted when we arrived, and the two vacuums at the property did not actually vacuum. Despite the dust, we had a great time

Decent stay at a great spot on the lake

Not the cleanest rental I've stayed in but not the dirtiest either. Condition of the pots and pans was terrible - nonstick with lots of scrapes in the coating. House could use some updating but everything was functional and overall decent. Gorgeous views from the big windows. Kids caught lots of fish from the dock. Convenient location for things to do (restaurants, etc.) in the area. Overall a good experience.

Dissapointed

We loved the location and the setting, its just that when you arrive to an unclean property its disappointing, Table with gunk and old sauce over it, chips left in an unclean oven base stinking out the house. Furniture old and tattered floors unclean. My children are fish and even they wouldn't get in the spa. I'm assuming its on water from a well as it stank along with the drains at times. Maybe we are the first visitors in a while... Expected better

Not a place to stay, bad water, bad furniture.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nothing was as discribed in the Taylormade Rental discription. The furniture is so broken down I would rather sit on the floor then the furniture, the inside house water has so much iron that we didn't even want to take a shower due to leaving a smell on your skin, couldn't drink it or cook with it. The lightd pathway to the lake had one working light. The walkway is so bad that my sister in law fell on the broken rocks. The hot tub smelled of mildew. The washing machine had a sign saying may turn whites orange. Complained to management company, the lady at the office didn't write anything down and acted like she heard it all before. Called on the phone and the rep sent a person over to check the water system which didn't help, brought jugs of water and emptied the super full ashes from the charcoal grill. I believe if the discription on the management company doesn't match what is actually there then it's the company's responsibility to remove the property from being rented until the owner brings it up to rental standards.

I loved how it was a quick walk down to the dock. The house was spacious enough. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. The house was outdated with the furniture being way over used (it was awful sleeping in those mattresses). The house wasn't very clean as my feet turned black when walking around bare foot. Dead bugs were in the downstairs bedrooms. Probably the worst part was the orange water. It was hard to use but was all we had. There was a board sticking up on the fist level balcony that my young daughter hurt her foot on. When we first arrived the hot tub was filling up and the water overflowed in which I had to turn it off. I enjoyed my stay but will not be recommending this house to anyone and will not stay there again.

House was clean and comfortable. Older furniture doesn’t bother us, but some of our family complained that their mattresses were not comfortable. We definitely should have been made aware of the well water and its orangy tint from iron. We still would have chosen this house, but we wouldn’t have brought white clothes. Couldn’t wash them. Kitchen had everything we needed. Possible future upgrade could include leveling out ground near lake or building another deck area - it was hard for our large family to all sit near each other down by the lake.

Gorgeous view but lacks certain amenities

Reviewer Comments: The house and views were stunning however we were not made aware that it was well water before we rented. The water was rusted and ruined a lot of our clothes and we had to put in two complaints before it was fixed. The TV's need updated as well. Everything with the furniture and carpet was pretty worn. We loved the views but this house needs to advertise that it is well water, and update the amenities.

Best Thanksgiving ever!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 14 fit comfortably in this home - we traveled from VA and Pittsburgh to spend the holiday together . View was beautiful, house was spacious . However it is a bit dated and lacked the firewood that should had been provided. We did not have enough for one fire a day . Disappointed that there wasn’t the “leftovers” of kitchen staples that we usually find in other lake rental homes.. salt, pepper, oil, etc that folks generally leave in cupboards. Hand soap and at least A few spare rolls of toilet paper would have been a plus. First world problems , I guess! The biggest challenge/disappointment was the well water that tasted horrible and was orange - we did not expect that and ended up having to get more bottled water for boiling/cooking/teeth brushing . Hand washing and showering was not pleasant as water had odor . We washed the white bath towels and tan dish towels once during our stay - ORANGE was how they came out! The washer did warn us with a sign - but didn’t expect that ! We DID have a wonderful Thanksgiving trip , and the family agreed that we’d stay there again next fall IF the well water issue is addressed. We didn’t even let our 7 month old puppy drink it , after we noticed it was orange in his bowl. We are looking forward to the lake next summer and next fall - we will def read the fine print about well water before renting homes with it . We’ve rented at the lake before and never had water issues. But, like I said- first world problems! Thanks for an overall fun time at Lakeside Memories. Let us know if you can fix that well water issue !

The place needed dusting top to bottom. The furniture in the living room needs to be updated - it is scummy. Nevertheless, we had a very relaxing October weekend. The place could be exceptional with a little effort.

Well Maintained and Conveniently Located

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Lakeside Memories house is attractive and conveniently located. The kitchen is spacious and the bedrooms are sizeable. The house, except for one night when the neighbors stayed in their next door hot tub until 1am, was quiet. There were a few problems that kept the house from getting five stars. The TV's are all CRT type TV's and do not have HDMI inputs, keeping the entertainment choices a bit limited. There was a game playing system, but we had to sit super close to the TV and the game receiver in order to use it. The hot tub is a bit awkwardly located, making it very difficult to pull the cover on when closing it up for the night. And the deck was kind of narrow with no relaxing furniture to use. All of these would be forgiveable if the rental price had been lower, but I expected more at the price we paid.

Lakeside Memories - needs some maintenance

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Taylore Made as always was excellent. They were very responsive to our concerns of the decaying dock that was in the process of drifting into the lake with tons of nails sticking out waiting for small children's feet. The property looks like it hasnt had anything other than minimal maintenance done since it was built. Has a nasty mold/vomit smell on the lower level. The furniture is whatever was left over from grandma's estate sale. Its pretty rough. Great location. I would not rent a boat and tie it to the dock in its current state. Will be using Taylore made but trying a different property next.

Good and Bad with this property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was very clean on the inside for the most part with no issue of bugs or filth. The lake view is really nice, especially without the trees yet blooming. However, I wouldn't stay at this property again for the following reasons. I believe this property was likely built in the mid-'80s. I also believe that nothing has been changed in the interior since it was originally built including carpeting, furniture, pictures, etc. Could not find one thing that looked to be updated. Plus, the furniture is tattered and ripped in places. Also, the exterior was in desperate need of clean-up and repair. One of the most promising features of this house is the view and dock (as pictured). Well, the long stairs and walkway to the water is completely falling apart with all rotted wood, moss-covered stones that are sometimes sunk 8 inches below the encasing wood. It's very apparent that the owner does not care at all about the exterior as it appears to have had absolutely no maintenance for years and years.

Nice Stay

Some of the things in the home could stand to be repaired and some updated. Overall, it was a good experience.

Fall Weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience with Taylor Made was a good one, despite some confusion at the beginning. Our experience for the weekend stay at Lakeside Memories was mixed. My only issue with Taylor Made was that the house we rented did not have keyless entry, which forced me to physically pick up and drop off the key at the rental office, a minor inconvenience. Lakeside Memories itself is a nice sized house, well positioned on the lake shore. The dock was modest but adequate and overall the house was equipped as expected. One disappointment was the lack of firewood, which for an autumn weekend was a major issue. The only other issue with the house was the confusing array of individual thermostats throughout the house. It took all weekend to perfect our room temperatures.
