Amazing Place!!!!

We had a fantastic time staying at the house! It is definitely off the beaten path if you’re looking to get out of the touristy area. But still have easy access to all the beautiful beaches. I highly recommend it!!! Paul the manager was fantastic. He assisted us with all of our needs and gave us great recommendations. I highly recommend having a 4 x 4 to get to this property We would definitely stay here again!!! Thank you Paul!!!

Great Place to Stay!

Great place to stay while in St. John. Great pool, great view, great access to Coral Bay. A/C in bedrooms is a "cool" luxury as well. Will hopefully stay here again in the not too distant future!

Excellent family vacation

We had a lovely time. The property was clean and quiet. We loved waking up and coming home to the gorgeous views and beautiful pool. Loved the location in Coral bay. Paul the property manager was friendly and very helpful.

Great views day and night, spacious and clean.

We very much liked both the location and the home itself. There are some good, fun restaurants close by and some unique beaches in a 15-30 minute drive. We loved the Reef Bay and Rams Head trails and of course the smoothies that were close by. We made full use of the kitchen and pool area that had all we needed and more. We would definitely stay again.

Coral bay

The location was perfect, about a half hour drive from the ferry, but there was a grocery store, restaurants and shops right at the end of the driveway. The pool was perfect and the bedrooms were much bigger than the pictures showed. The bathrooms were very large as well. We used the pool house for extra guests and it was perfect. Definitely need to rent a car, as with the entire island, the driveway is very hilly and has many turns. Paul was easy to communicate with and we got to chat with him a few times on property as well as his cat, Sebastian. There were goats and chickens who came to visit and donkeys down the road. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and look forward to staying here again.

Christmas in Paradise

Views are so much more amazing than pictured. As a family of 6, we enjoyed the estate immensely. Paul, our local host is amazing and was just a text or call away for any recommendations we needed to fully enjoy the island. We will be back! Thank you for a great stay!

Fantastic family vacation spot

Our family stayed the second week of December. The villa location was perfect to overlook Coral Bay and enjoy the Christmas winds. Paul was a fantastic property manager and made every part of the stay perfect. He lives on property which actual is nice to know someone else is there at the house. Location was perfect to be away from the business of Cruz bay but still close to beaches and an abundance of food. The villa was clean and comfortable. The pool was wonderful. I would highly recommend this villa and would stay here again.

Sea Grape Paradise

Our stay at Sea Grape was a slice of paradise. A family of five (plus a few over night drop ins) had more than enough space here. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the beds comfy, the kitchen high end, and did I mention the view????? Greg and Joel were great to work with. Once you get used to the crazy steep Sea Grape Hill drive, it becomes part of the adventure ;) We will definitely be back to Sea Grape! Five stars!!!!!!!

Excellent family home

Seagrape Estate was a wonderful home for our family of 5. Our tween/teens loved the space they had and the HUGE pool was a hit! Paul and Sandra were wonderful to work with and fixed any issue we had immediately. The microwave stopped working and Sandra replaced it the next day, which is INCREDIBLE on an island!! The kids were so thankful for their nightly microwave popcorn!! Sebastian is the sweetest neighborhood cat and our kids loved having him visit each evening! Would definitely rent this home again!

We'll Be Back

Exquisite views of the sundrenched Coral Bay while perched high or the hill in a beautiful Caribbean Villa. Yeah, it was that good! The home was immaculately clean and private which made for the perfect oasis for a family vacation. As a bonus we would be occasionally visited by Pau,l the caretaker, who is always ready to offer up a cheerful hand with anything or an island secret of a great place to eat or visit- The perfect English gentleman. I look forward to seeing him next year.

The view! The location! The house! The pool! Stunning!

Can’t say enough good things about the property! We have stayed in Coral Bay a few times and wanted our son’s graduation trip to be special. Sea grape didn’t disappoint. In addition to exploring the whole island, we ran the Johnny Horn trail to Waterlemon right from the house and walked down to Skinny Legs for food & drinks several times! Greg was super helpful and ready to answer any needs. We had a storm blow through on one day and he was proactive with providing lights and chargers in case the power blinked. We can’t wait to go back!

Perfect!

Sea Grape Estate exceeded our expectations! The layout worked perfectly for our family with grandparents being able to have their own private getaway in the pool house bedroom and the rest of us in the main house. Joel & Sue were great to work with while booking and before travel to St. John. Greg met us at the villa shortly after we arrived and answered any questions that we had and updated us on restaurants that were open. The view from this villa takes your breath away! The villa was clean and had everything that we needed and more. The pool was huge and we were able to enjoy it almost every night! The island is recovering still after the hurricanes, but so many locals were thankful for the business that we gave them and asked for us to return when we were able to!

What a trip!

What can we say...beautiful home, perfectly appointed with everything you need, and wow the pool and view! Our family of 4 stayed at seagrape this April for a week over spring break. We really enjoyed the quiter side of the island (coral bay) and loved how convenient the home was to some of the best beaches in the world. We also had some great dining spots right below us! The dolphin market in Coral Bay was perfect for what we needed food and supply wise...so no need to waste time grocery shopping in Cruz. We had a great adventure with our 2 teens (14/16). Each had their own space (one in room...other in pool hut)...which was a great idea. We reccomend everyone get a taco from the Lime Out guys at Hansen Bay and snorkel everywhere you can! Greg (our host) was easily reached and attentive to whatever requests we had. Would definitely be back!

Immaculately clean, huge pool, spacious living areas. PERFECT in every way.

I cannot count how many times I've stayed at Greg's properties now, but this was my first stay in this house. It was truly amazing in every way. There's so much room to spread out between the bedrooms, pool house, the spacious deck...I felt at home from the moment we arrived. This house is impeccably clean with many recent updates that are apparent. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook, and there's a nice table on the deck for eating outside. The pool has a comfortable hammock and many lounge chairs, and a bathroom right in the pool house. You cannot beat this view either. I've stayed all over the island and this is my favorite spot. Greg is close enough to step in and help if you need anything, but also respects your privacy - you won't see him unless you want to! He has been the perfect host for the past 8 years, and I will be back again later this year. If you're looking for the perfect vacation, here it is...you won't have a single worry about your accommodations...just enjoy!

An amazing week in an unforgettable location!!

What an unbelievable stay at Sea Grape Estate! The location, house amenities, and pool were all wonderful and far exceeded our expectations. The property manager, Paul, was amazing and he took the time to make our vacation unforgettable for our children. It was nice to chat with him and learn about the island and he was always willing to offer a suggestion if we were looking for a restaurant, grocery, etc. The house location is perfect in Coral Bay and the views are breathtaking. Don't be afraid of the steep drive, it gets easier each day. It was nice to have so many beach toys, chairs, and snorkel equipment available for our use and everything was clean and in great condition. If you are looking for a place to unplug and relax with amazing views and upscale accommodations, look no further than Sea Grape Estate. Grab a book and lay on the hammock with the ocean breeze and you'll be in heaven. We will def be back to visit Sea Grape in the near future. Coral Bay is an amazing area with friendly people and the drive to the beaches and Cruz Bay isn't bad. This is def the quieter side of the island, which is what we were looking for, but there is still so much to see and do within just a few minutes of the property.

Absolutely Perfect!! Don't pass up an opportunity to experience this villa!!

Everything about our stay from 12/12-12/19/18 was perfect and exceeded all of our expectations! The views from the villa are endless and breath-taking with tons of wrap around decking and outdoor sitting areas. I can't think of a better view on the island. Our family had plenty of space to spread out on the property with the two master bedrooms and pool house. It's kid friendly too. My 3.5 year old niece had a blast! The house is perfectly maintained and comes stocked with everything thing you would find at your own home...tons of kitchen stuff/beach/pool/snorkel/coolers/etc. All you need to do is drive 5 minutes to the local grocery store and get some food. The location was perfect for us! You have the tranquility of Coral Bay with great local restaurants and bars and your only a short drive to all the beaches nearby. We headed into town at Cruz Bay a few nights too. We loved the exciting twists and turns of the roads. The hill up to the house is no joke though...you definitely need a Jeep with 4-wheel drive. You'll get used to the hills after a day or two. It's great to see how well this strong island has come together and bounced back after the storm. We will definitely be back. We're already planning for next year. Don't pass up a chance to experience this property. Greg will take great care of you!

Million Dollar View for sure; Needs refreshing

The view from this house as well as the pool are definitely the selling points. This house has so much potential but in our opinion, needs to be updated. The appliances, the mattresses, the bed linens, bath and kitchen linens, and the living room couch all need replacing. The couch cushion has collapsed from wear and cannot be sat on comfortably. The bed linens, including mattress pads are ill fitting, stained, and have some holes and tears. The house could use a deep cleaning (heavy mold in windows/screens, and floors need steam cleaning). We would have felt more comfortable if all the sliding glass doors locked. Although we were assured the house was very safe with no crime, we were uneasy leaving the house unlocked each day. I will add that Paul, the property manager was very easy to communicate with. He lives in the bottom part of the house and we rarely saw him. Final notes: this is our fifth house rental on St. John so we have others to compare this house to. We understand things are different and more laid back on the islands and we took that into consideration as we write our review. Be sure to bring bug spray! The no-see-ums are relentless on the island and we were eaten up alive. If only we had been prepared (ugh)! We found the workers on the island who grew up on St. John to be for the most part, unfriendly and somewhat rude. Those service workers who moved to the island from elsewhere were much friendlier.

For the price we expected perfection.

I will start out by saying that the property was clean. I appreciate that. The security was dismal. Our separate poolside flop house( for which we spent 1/3 of the price)did not lock and the door screen blew in the wind. If we left the glass door open to the breeze a cat came in through the screen! One panel in the outside shower ( our only shower in the cabana bedroom)was broken so you were naked to the island. We had to figure out how to make the water warm. There were six of us but 5 beach chairs. The snorkeling equipment was too old and not effective. No hand towels or washcloths and only one dish towel. We could not wash towels and reuse as the dryer was broken the whole time! We had to haul gallons of water because the manager told us not to drink the filtered? water. There are no deadbolts as advertised. The manager and his girlfriend stayed under the main house which made us worried about being noisy at all. The furniture in the main house was quite shabby. Uncovered metal leftovers of buttons cut into your legs when you sat on the couch. Honestly? It would have been an adventuresome fun rental if we paid half the price. We felt taken.

Excellence in paradise

We had a wonderful week at the SeaGrape Estate. We are frequent travelers and this property exceeded our expectations. It was extremely clean when we arrived and I am very particular. The kitchen is fully stocked and we were able to cook several meals at home easily. The view is breathtaking - even after you’ve seen it once it’s breathtaking every time. The morning coffee on the deck overlooking coral bay was a magical way to start everyday. The deck is huge- I was able to do some body weight workouts and yoga on the deck. The wrap around deck gives you a view like no other and the pictures do not do it justice. The property was safe and had more than enough beach gear including snorkels for us to use. Beach gear was clean and in good working order- no issues. Doors and windows were secure but we slept with windows and sliding doors open because the breeze was perfect. There is AC in bedrooms but didn’t need it. Temp Was in the 80s at night but it didn’t feel like it. It felt cool and very comfortable. The Pool is HUGE, clean and warm
and the view while swimming!! Omg! Showers/bathrooms were clean and spacious. They were all great but the outdoor shower was particularly nice. If you want to experience a little slice of heaven try the outdoor shower on a warm night. It’s wonderful. This villa was exactly what we wanted. Location was great, easy access to beaches and grocery stores! I could go on and on. Paul the property manger is a wonderful human and gave us many helpful tips during our stay. I would come back a 100x over if I could.

This was a great house with privacy, comfortable beds, and a large kitchen. Perfect for a group of four. Huge deck area, and all the amenities. Paul was an excellent property manager and responded to messages immediately. Sebastian the sweet outdoor cat was a bonus! After six previous days on St. John, I can say I highly recommend this property!

What a magical vacation for our family of 5! The house location is a little tricky at first, but definitely manageable. The house has absolutely everything we needed, including plenty of beach chairs and an ice chest for beach days. Sebastian, the cat, joined me for morning coffee most days and is the sweetest kitty. Paul was incredibly helpful with island information and tips and was available when needed. We look forward to coming back!

Greg has lived on St. John for over 25 years and has great knowledge and experience of this beautiful breath taking island. He is a well known and talented guitarist for multiple bands, including Hatch, In De Sand Band, Sand Lizards, and Aswad's Fall. If you're lucky, you might find him out playing solo guitar. Greg's is also a certified scuba diver, ask him where to find the good dives, but not the lobster spots ;)

When Greg first came to Coral Bay this was the only house on the hillside at that time.

Greg became the caretaker not long after he moved here, and when the owners retired near 18 years later, they couldn't imagine anyone else but Greg to take over and carry the legacy of Seagrape Estate.

He knew you just didn't find the combination of location, views, privacy, and size like this easily on the island. This is one of the larger properties and at least the top 10 sized pool on the island with stunning views from all around. Comfort and space to spread out are of the essence. The way the home is laid out, 3 couples can feel like they can be separate but still enjoy time together.

Besides the stunning views, enormous, comfy bedrooms, beautifully remodeled bathrooms and kitchen, you will have a hard time deciding where to roam - take a swim down at the pool, lounge at the upper deck before dinner, have happy hour at sunrise, or watch the unforgettable moonrise. The breezes keep the place cool while keeping bugs away. We are told that no other house on the hillside has the type of breezes. The property speaks for itself.
