I did not realize it was a communal house because it was not clear on the ad. It’s a house with bedrooms you are sharing with 8 guest rooms. The ad says it’s an 8 unit place, I thought it was an apartment style building/units that all had their own kitchens. The kitchen is shared for everyone and not private. One thing I would recommend to the hosts is to have that more clearly stated.
Pros:
-area is safe location
-there is no on site parking but we easily found street parking a block over
-the private bedroom and bathrooms were very clean
-a/c works well
-wifi works
-bed was very comfy
-mini fridge in room and coffee maker
-check in instructions very clear/hosts easy to communicate with
-The kitchen was nice to have and convenient.
Cons:
-the ad should more clearly state it is a big house with private bedrooms you are sharing with people. It needs to be more clear
-we were in unit 1 and the freezer part of the mini fridge was not functional as it was frozen over
-we did not have hot water for our showers in the mornings. Hosts, I would consider looking into this as it’s mentioned in several reviews
-I would recommend to the hosts to have spray cleaner available for guests in the kitchen
-mini fridge freezer solid ice and not useable
-parking may be an issue for some if you cannot carry luggage or walk a block or two.
Overall, we had a really good stay and I would recommend it. I would also stay here again. I found it to be very clean and comfortable for the rooms.
