Perfect Stay, Again!

This is our third time booking this property and we enjoyed everything, as usual. The cabin has all the amenities needed to entertain kids and adults. The location is perfect to do all the fun things around north Georgia including Helen, Dahlonega, Tallulah Falls, etc.

If you have older people staying this isn’t the place for you!

When we got there the toilet didn’t work, it was due to some repairs happening the day before. The bath tub was dirty also because of the repairs. I called to let them know, they sent someone to fix the toilet but didn’t offer to have the tub cleaned. It was wood chips and dirt all in it. The stairs are straight up and down and SLIPPERY!!!! The kitchen is semi stocked with dishes so bring things you may need. Definitely on the smaller side compared to the other listings in the area for the same price. Like I said it was OK. For 800.00 a weekend it’s a no for me.

Love the location

The location, living area and porch was wonderful for our group. The upstairs bathroom was disappointing. Upgrades are needed. The shower door would not stay closed and the space was too small. It could have used a better cleaning. The bedrooms, however, are spacious and very comfortable.

Beautiful view but property needs attention

Lovely views with some fun toys on the property, however home was not very clean. We arrived and the upstairs bathroom window was open. Bathroom doors were all funky and need maintenance. Master shower had weird spray out issue, could use maintenance. All linens including towels and bed linens were stinky musty smell as if not washed in awhile. Carpet in LR was dingy. Aside from these major issues, our family had a nice Thanksgiving weekend visiting wineries and downtown Dahlonega and Helen. The dining table was big which was nice. Kitchen drawers could use repair and updating. Property itself could use lots of TLC as it’s a nice spot but lacks maintenance. Maybe better lighting for the narrow driveway. Aside from this we had a fun family getaway for the holiday.

Deer Haven, So peaceful that a deer would live there.

My stay at deer haven was for enjoyable and relaxing. This cabin is the perfect getaway to be nestled into nature and have peaceful mornings on the patio, soaks in the hot tub with mood lighting, or enjoy a movie inside. Blue Creek Cabins makes sure you have all the info upfront, so you know exactly what you're getting. However, in the rare case that the info provided is not sufficient, they are quick to respond to answer any questions. No question in my mind of whether I would stay at one of their properties again. Fantastic hosts, and fantastic cabins.

A lovely, cozy stay!

The property was great; we loved the location. It was an easy drive to Helen, where we enjoyed the downtown activities, including river tubing, and we drove out to Dahlonega and to Amicalola Falls. In the house, the hot tub was both easy to use and to close up for the day. There were plenty of beds for my family of four. The kids cozied up in the upstairs rooms and enjoyed the games in the basement. The cicadas were singing as soon as it went dark and they stopped by the time we woke up. We visited the vineyard down the road and we definitely recommend it to those who enjoy wine, as the wine was great and the woman who worked there was lovely and informative. Really, everything was great, which is why we rated it a 5 star! Our only "complaints" were that there were some wrappers behind a nightstand in one of the bedrooms and a dish or two that didn't seem quite clean. The rest of the cabin seemed very clean - bathrooms, bedrooms, floors. For us, the couple misses were not dealbreakers and were not enough to contact management or to give out a less than 5 star review. We would go back to Deer Haven or go to another Blue Creek Cabin in a heartbeat as the overall experience was great between the general cleanliness, the ease of check in and check out, the wonderful locations they choose, plus the amenities in the houses.

Great Getaway Location

Deer Haven was the perfect place to unwind! Although it rained constantly and shortened our outdoor activities, there were plenty of things to do inside this cozy cabin. We hope to be back again soon.

Such a beauty!

Our family of 5 stayed right before the holidays! The cabin was so nice and cozy and decorated for Christmas. The kids loved the game room and we all loved the hot tub. We had some beautiful views in the morning from our back porch. Everything was easy and super clean. We cooked quite a bit and had everything we needed. Thanks for making our stay amazing!

Wonderful stay

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Deer Haven cabin! Even on a rainy day we had plenty of things to do. LOVED the ping-pong table and the jacuzzi! The view was gorgeous! The fireplace made the cabin extra cozy!

Wonderful cabin and trip!

This is our second time in Deer Haven and our third time in a Blue Creek property. We had a wonderful trip and experience - Deer Haven is in a great location - close enough to all the things in Helen and other areas. We day-tripped to several other locations. The cabin had some updates and upgrades from our last time here. Our kids spent most of their time in the basement playing games. The cabin was clean, organized, and had everything we needed. We had no need to reach out to anyone during our stay as everything was just as we needed it to be. Thanks for a great experience!

Serene setting

I needed a place to relax and unwind, this property was just what I needed. It is tucked away on a tree lined street with a deck that wraps around so you get a Mountain View from all directions. The access to get inside was seamless. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there

Good time

We had a great time overall. There were a few small details that weren’t perfect but that’s always true. The hot tub didn’t hold it’s temperature well when it was cold outside so once you took the cover off you had max an hour or so of use before the temp got too low to be comfortable. This was probably because it was cold at night but just something to note. It was very clean which is not always true. The cabin overall was very clean which was nice. My kids had a great time with the arcade machine and the ping pong table especially. The location was convenient but there isn’t much view if you are looking for that. One issue that is with the area was someone letting a dog wander around. It made our dog very nervous so if you are traveling with a dog something to keep in mind. There’s nothing the owners can really do about it (it might even have been stray) but it’s worth noting for anyone traveling with a pet. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Perfect Post Holiday Getaway

Perfect house for a getaway! We were a family of 5. Three adults and two kids (9 & 3). The way the rooms were arranged were perfect for kids in one room, parents in the other right next to it. The games like ping pong, pac man, and the mini games on the TV in the basement and back porch were a great addition! Everything was as pictured and clean when we arrived. Had everything you would need in the kitchen as well. Check in and check out process was seamless. The view pulling into the neighborhood was breathtaking and I even got up extra early to watch the sunrise from the back deck. You can’t miss it! Definitely check out the winery at the entrance of the neighborhood, super cute and easy to get to and from! You’re a quick drive from Helen, and numerous hiking trails. We spent two days exploring Helen, and a day hiking. You aren’t too far from a big grocery (Ingles) but Helen also has a smaller one with great options. Kids enjoyed the hiking, the gold/gem panning, putt putt, and mountain roller coaster! And of course can’t leave without having Schnitzel. Highly recommend this cabin and company!

Great get away cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our early family Christmas. They even had a Christmas tree. The ping pong table and hot too were a hit especially after a long day of hiking. I’d have given it a 5/5 stars if the internet had been fast enough to watch a Netflix movie all the way through without it trying to load. We’d definitely come back again. Awesome location with everything you need.

We enjoyed this cabin. The location was great, easy to get everywhere with one of the easier roads leading up to the cabin. I always prefer the multi-level cabins to block noise from the rest of the family and the solid doors helped a lot with that as well. Internet worked well, satellite/smart TV was great, and we also enjoyed the games. Hot tub worked great, which a lot of rentals do not. Although we are no longer "campers" we enjoy the nightly fire pit. The outdoor furniture was nice and the lower covered deck with TV/Hot tub, and ping pong was great as well. We will look into renting this place again in the future.

Cozy mountain cabin

Deer Haven was very clean. The decor was very cute for a cabin in the mountains. My husband and I enjoyed the firepit every night. We enjoyed the hot tub. The plus was a Ms PAC Man game. My husband and I enjoyed playing against each other. The downstairs would be a kids paradise. The cabin is close to Helen. Anna Ruby Falls was spectacular. The Hardman tram trail was also great. We were last in Helen during Covid, this was obviously so much better. The cabin has all you need. Bring any extras you may need for cooking. The fall leaves were beautiful.
