Very cool home on a lakefront property. Had all kitchen supplies needed to cook a full thanksgiving dinner. Bedrooms were comfortable and house was clean. Host was easy to communicate with. My ONLY complaint is that we needed to bring all of our own supplies, including toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, soap, etc.

Amazing location. Great time sitting around the fire pit and using the hot tub. Things to improve on: Internet range doesn’t really work out on the porch. Very few supplies (e.g., no dish sponge, only one trash bag in kitchen, only one half used roll of paper towels, few bath towels).

Great 3 day get a way

This property was VERY clean. The location is awesome. very nice boat dock where we fished and played . Cabin is beautiful and decorated perfect. We stayed in July and it was hot but the air conditioner was cold and delightful. The only issue was the had one dish towel for the kitchen to dry dishes and one wash cloth to do dishes which was contant with our large group. We did use the dishwasher but for large pots and pans it would of been nice to have more. The grill on deck is probably on its last leg. only the front burners work . The upstairs mattress in the king suite is due for a new one . We had to put pillows in the middle of the bed to prevent rolling into the V. Other then those three things it was perfect.

Nice house but.....

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were basically happy with our vacation stay however there are a few things that really need attention at this rental home. The first thing we noticed is the trash laying around outside. All of the outside furniture could use a good cleaning and the hot tub is very small. We had to call the rental agency every day about different issues that came up (mostly minor) The house needs a deep cleaning and a bug bomb! Biggest complaint was the lack of seating in the dining room, downstairs pool room, and most of our outside fire pit chairs were at the house next door. We didn't want to be rude and take them but they were clearly marked on the back that they belonged at Bear Hollow. I did let the rental company know about that, but nothing was done. And lastly, the Wi-Fi is terrible! I know it shouldn't matter if you are on vacation, but it was needed for some to work while there.

Made the best of a rainy week

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely even though it rained every day. We enjoyed our stay boating, jet skying, fishing what we did between the rain drops. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the house. We cleaned what we could and housekeeping did come back and vacuum but this house needs a serious deep cleaning. in spite of the dirty house we had a great time.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented the Bear Hollow and Raccoon Lagoon houses 2 times, once for our wedding and again recently to celebrate my wife's 40th. Outstanding March 2018 Vacation at Bear Hollow

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had an OUTSTANDING rental experience at the Bear Hollow Property for one week in March, 2018! Our ONLY recommendation is to provide two more trash cans, bringing the total number of trash can to four for this rental property. The two provided trash cans were not sufficient for our one week stay. If no additional trash cans are able to be provided, recommend scheduling a trash pick-up not later than the fourth day of a seven day stay. Renters do not want to place trash on the ground of the wooden trash can holders that would attract bears or rodents. We want to extend a special thanks to the Taylor-Made Office Staff for their superb courtesy and helpfulness in arranging our stay. Our family will definitely return to Bear Hollow!

Nice place as advertised

This was a nice place for a great rate. The house was just as described on this site an in the pictures. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the house needs some seasonal maintenance. A few screws and bolts loose throughout the house that made us think we broke something. The eaves need cleaned of the various 6-8 legged critters that have taken roost there, too. The grill needs a deep cleaning. The cleaning crew on check-in day missed a couple beer cans and some lingerie left by the previous tenants. Honestly, nothing major, just a few suggestions for some easy improvements. But those things wouldn't prevent me from renting the place again. It's in a great spot and if you're looking for a place that's right in the middle of things (but still is a quiet spot), has plenty of room for the kids to run around and plenty of room for the adults to be a family and individuals, go for this one.

BEYOND PERFECT LAKE HOUSE

House is an amazing location directly on the lake with a beautiful flat front lawn to the lakefront and your own firepit and dock. It was beautifully furnished and the pictures do not do it justice-it's very updated! It was impeccably cleaned and anything you could want was in the home (except the things that Stacey clearly states on your check in info to bring) The views from every room are gorgeous and it truly felt like our family was staying in a home away from home. Stacey was amazing with suggestions for what we could do with kids and a dog. She was so quick to respond to any question we had. We are already asking to book again for next year!

Great property, very spacious

Bear Hollow was prefect for a multi family weekend away. Plenty of room, well appointed house, beautiful views of lake. Boat slips made it easy to rent a boat and utilized it for the whole day. Loved having the fire pit for camp fires at night, nice to have plenty of chairs as well. House and hot tub was clean and well maintained. We would definitely rent again.

Former best kept secret

This was the 4th or 5th time we have stayed in Bear Hollow and my husband and I could not be happier. This is our dream lake/mountain home. We have stayed in other accommodations in the area but these sister homes are the very best you can find. So many desirable amenities, very close to local hot spots (including the adorable coffee shop, Arrowhead market and the Honi Honi), and the backyard with dock and amazing views have us sold as very happy return customers year after year. Also, the fact that these houses are dog friendly makes them an A+ in my book. Thank you for allowing us to make wonderful family memories in your gorgeous log homes!

Relaxing vacation on the lake

This was our second time staying at Bear Hollow and we enjoyed this trip better than the first. The weather was perfect. The accommodations were excellent for our family and friend group of 9(actually 10 with the dog). The property was clean and well-maintained. I have already recommended this property to a friend who just happened to mention to me that he was looking for a 5 bedroom property on the lake for his family vacation. I gave him one of your cards, and I am sure he will be in touch! The younger adults enjoyed the white-water rafting at WISP, and we all enjoyed renting a pontoon boat for a day on the water. The brick-oven pizza at Mountain State Brewing Company, and the food and drinks at Boardwalk and Honi-Honi were excellent.

The Van Rye Family

We arrived at Bear Hollow and was pleasantly surprised by the location and house! Not only was it spotless, but also well equipped from lines to dinnerware! We had noticed by day 2 that the light in the refrigerator was out and one over the sink! We called the repair service and within a couple of hours he arrived! Enjoyed having a conversation about the area, since it was our first visit and he was very knowledgeable! We loved our family vacation there and would recommend it in the future!

Deep Creek's best lodging

We went for a family reunion. This is the second year we have stayed at Raccoon Lagoon and Bear Hollow. Love these two houses. Great location. Can't say enough good things about these properties. Have already rented again for next year.

Perfect Double Rentals for Large Families!

We were very impressed with the homes when we walked in....the pictures didn't do them justice. They are updated and very nicely decorated. The layout of the homes was perfect for multiple families and teens. When you rent both homes and have all that yard space it makes for some fun yard games. We had a perfect vacation and definitely plan to return!

Sad to pack up our things and leave.....

The judge of a wonderful vacation is when you hate to pack up your bags on the last day because you've had a marvelous time. Part of that feeling is that I have an amazing family, and the other part is Raccoon Lagoon was a perfect location for our adventure!! Plusses: - cozy log house with all the amenities needed. -evening walks to the Creamery and morning walks to the donut shop!! -Easy boat rental from Bill's Marina just down the road. -Great back yard for PLAY and camp fires -Close to Bear Hollow, but not a problem. We actually made friends with our neighbors there!! -Plenty of parking, and we hardly drove all week (just for groceries) -Hot tub a JOY -Owners very accessible with the planning and questions. We would do it all over again!!!

Beautiful, spacious lake-front property

We rented this property for a family reunion weekend, with ages ranging from 14-60- so we needed some serious space. The house had the perfect layout for this; large kitchen-dining-family room area leading to a large deck with great lake views and a downstairs game room ideal for the teens. The woodwork on the inside was very impressive, the kitchen had literally everything you could need for any level of cooking, the dock was well set up for swimming or boating (we rented jet skis and kayaks), and there was a nice fire pit for cool evenings under the stars; with a good sized hot tub nearby. We also enjoyed a beautiful day hike and swim in the falls at the nearby Swallow Falls State Park. We would definitely try to rent Bear Hollow again for our next reunion.

Guys Weekend

This is I think our fifth year to rent this house. We love the location, the condition of the house and the overall beauty of the property. We come for a guys weekend from all over the US as a small class reunion of high school friends. The owners are super to work with and are always interested in how the weekend went for us. The fire pit and boat dock always get used as we love to sit by the lake and enjoy the view. Great house for any occasion!!!
