We very much enjoyed hosting Tony and his wife. Please note that many of our guests access the Writers Nest with a 2/FWD Vehicle during our summer season. If you do not need a 4Wheel drive vehicle for summer travel in Colorado. Message us if you have questions Thx Michael

Susan and her husband were ideal guests. Our property was left in A+Perfect condition. If you are a host you will love hosting Susan and her husband. Michael

With all due respect to this guest you actually do not need an all/4wheel drive vehicle during our summer season. Many of our guests arrive just fine in their 2/front wheel Dr vehicles. Call or message us anytime if you have questions about this topic Respectfully Michael

Please, if your a prospective guest note that listing clearly describes the use of the upper level as my summer office ( we do rent to other guests in the upper level and it was not occupied by other guests during Tims stay , only myself alone visited the office from time to time during Tims stay ), so we respectfully submit that for our guest to be dis-appointed in his perceived privacy is not a valid observation. Our listing also clearly suggests that if you would prefer a 100% stand alone cabin to see our other 4 VRBO listings Respectfully Michael

We appreciate our guests time to write this very gracious review. But we must make this clarification; From the Writers Nest Privacy patio you cannot see any other houses or neighbors. The closest other one of our Vacation Oroperties is 120 feet away. On the 600 foot access road to the to the Writers Nest there are 4 of our other Vacation Propeties each sitting on its own dedicated 1acre Secluded lot. The Writers Nest is at the very end of our “Dead End” road and none of these properties are visible from the Writers Nest. We point this out because our guests statement “that there are a lot of neighbors” we think gives you the prospective traveler the wrong impression of the seclusion of our properties. We are sorry that our guest was this unhappy with our location. We advertise and are proud to offer “Wilderness Lodging”. Our location is clearly described in the listing and is easily identified on The listing provided Google map feature. We have no apologies for our location. Furthermore the size of the “Writers Nest” is specifically mentioned in the listing. We suggest to prospective travelers to please read our listings completely before you reserve a Secluded Wilderness location vacation residence. ComplaIning that our location is “to Remote” is a childish way to cover up ones lack of basic vacation planning. This guest should have stayed in the city. In addition upon reading this review I went to the Writers Nest refrigerator and found that a gallon of milk easily fits in the refrigerator. If you are a prospective traveler please read our many reviews where travelers who have stayed at the Writers Nest applaud the beauty, serenity and location of our Wilderness setting. Please note; The roads to the Writers Nest are well maintained by the Road and Bridge Dept of Clear Creek County Colorado. Your 2 Wheel, or Front Wheel Dr. Vehicle is fully adequate to easily access the Writers Nest in non-winter months. A 4 Wheel Dr. Vehicle is only required on the day of a snow storm in winter and is generally required for all Colorado Rocky Mountain travel thru-out the Winter Months. We always appreciate our guests observations and believe the referenced comments left by our valued guests are primarily due to the rural nature of the community being quite different than an Urban setting with frequent street lights and well developed paved roads. We have never had a confirmed reservation guest who has not been able to access the Writers Nest. If you have further questions about this topic please call us anytime. Sincerely Michael

The Writers Nest is exactly as the listing describes; size Views. amenities. This guest showed up well after dark and stayed 15 min and then left and never stayed at the property. His statement that you could here people upstairs all night day is a premeditated misstatement of fact better known as an outright lie. This person was at the property for 15 min and no time during the day. When this person arrived i was in my office in the upper level ( see listing detail). If you are a VRBO host do not rent to this person. And if you are a prospective guest please read our many 5 star reviews left over the last 12 years from many repeat guests to the Writers Nest.
