Questa elegante residenza del 1800 s è un paradiso per i golfisti, adiacente al corso di Makai e ad appena un paio di minuti a piedi dalla club house. Splendidamente e arredate in stile classico, con un lanai privato con vista giardino, montagna e cascata. La villa è due camere da letto / tre bagni, bella e spaziosa all'interno con soffitti a volta, pavimenti in piastrelle, ripiani in granito e molti altri aggiornamenti. Il livello superiore comprende una zona giorno open space con cucina, zona pranzo, sala grande, 3/4 bagni, angolo lettura e lanai. Gli arredi sono confortevoli, eleganti e tradizionali ma con un allegro stile isolano. Una delle due master suite è a questo livello. La camera da letto è arredata con un letto matrimoniale. Il grande bagno principale ha una cabina doccia e due lavandini. Se ti piace un bagno spazioso, elegante e moderno, allora sarai in paradiso!

This was a beautiful duplex with views of the mountains and short distance from Princeville shopping center and the beautiful Hanalei. The lower level has AC as advertised and a spacious bedroom. The upper level has fans and spacious living room, additional bathrooms and well stocked with cookware kitchen. The area is peaceful and the nearby roosters added to the cultural charm of it. Highly recommend!

I am sure we will stay there again. There was plenty of space for the 3 of us, and this unit is on the edge with amazing views of the mountains with windows set up to frame the landscape. I would recommend a new fridge and perhaps a dehumidifier for the master suite.

Great place but

Was strange to have everything done off the VRBO website. I'd probably find a different place to stay as signing contracts not associated with VRBO was not a comfortable position. The house itself was nice but definitely could tell the residents inside the complex were not happy with VRBO-style companies. Lead to some awkward pool time.

This unit is located at the end of the community which makes it very quiet. The house itself is spacious. Upstairs is no AC but fans. It can get very hot even with all the fans on and doors open. I guess better window coverings would help.

Way too HOT!! I small stand alone AC unit in the down stairs bedroom is not enough for this property. I believe you false advertise that this unit is AC. The 2 girls who where suppose to sleep in bed room upstairs DIDN'T, it was too hot to sleep

Air conditioning is not common on Kauai, and generally not necessary as the climate is temperate (though humid). On those rare occasions when the tradewinds are not blowing, you'll definitely feel how warm and muggy it gets, but thankfully the tradewinds blow almost constantly. We are very clear in our description about the unit having only partial air conditioning and urge guests to read the description to be certain the property will meet their needs and to ensure realistic expectations. From description: "The downstairs master suite is air-conditioned for your comfort. The upstairs is island breeze cooled, no AC."

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The townhouse itself was decent. It was located in a relatively quiet location, and had everything needed for cooking, etc versus having to go out to eat every meal. The issues were that the place was rather worn, and things weren't in the best condition. The beds were terrible and provided no support, but otherwise caused body aches and pains for everyone in our party. Also, the ad listed that this unit had AC. It was only in the primary bedroom and no where else. Being a two story unit the upstairs was very hot even with all the windows and sliding doors open. It made it very difficult to sleep until late in the evening/early morning when it finally cooled off.

Our mattresses are on the softer side, which might not be everyone's preference, but we'll definitely check them out for any issues. You’re right about the AC—it's only in the downstairs bedroom, just as we mention in the description: "Partially Air Conditioned (downstairs master bedroom)." Usually, the tradewinds keep things comfortable, but on those rare occasions when they die down, it can get muggy. Fans do help, but nothing beats those refreshing tradewinds!

Host was very unprofessional. We arrived at the site and the AC unit was not functioning. The host then messages us and informs us that the AC unit wasn’t functioning since the housekeeper told him. They label the unit as “AC” but only had a single unit that didn’t even work. The host tells us that he’ll get somebody to come by tomorrow yet nobody ever did. Then I message him and ask him the update days later after nobody showed up . He tells me that the maintenance couldn’t come by since the tube that the AC unit needed was out of stock. He said that they would try to look for it. He gave no update for days and then one night was hottest that it had been. We had about 6 fans on us and we were still miserable. I messaged him that night complaining about the heat and wanted an update. He told me that the island had no tube and that they’d have to get one from a neighboring island. AKA “you won’t get it during your stay” Then towards the end of our trip we decided to go down to the basement where the AC unit was. And to our surprise we saw that the tube was magically put on the unit!!! The tube was “taped” on the window and was already falling down. This excuse of a fix is completely unacceptable. Not only did they not tell us that they came by but they also did a poor job. On top of the AC not working the fire alarm in the basement went off the entire time. I told the host and he told me that we could either fix it ourselves or that the maintenance team would.

We have since repaired the air-conditioning unit with the appropriate parts, and we regret that our communication during the repair process was inadequate. While the listing clearly states that this unit is only partially air-conditioned in the master suite, we understand that having this amenity unavailable for your stay is a serious inconvenience. We apologize for making it seem as though we expected you to fix the smoke alarm in the basement. Our suggestion was merely that you were welcome to remove the batteries to immediately stop the disruptive noise before our maintenance team made their way to the property. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an updated experience more typical of our services in the future, and we're wishing you safe travels on your next adventures. Aloha

The lanai is a peaceful place to start your day listening to the birds and the rooms are large and comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is pleasant and not too busy so you can always enjoy it uncrowded. The unit has beach chairs and an umbrella that were very useful for hanging out at the beach. The unit could use some updating and minor maintenance but was overall good value when compared to other options in the area.

Lovely place, great location.

Great location, nice walking path nearby. Very quiet complex. Pool nice. I filtered my original search by “has A/C” - my mistake for not reading the unit description carefully enough. As others have written, there is a room A/C in master suite, but the main level is fans and open windows. West facing unit makes it hot in afternoon. However, we made the best of it and I would definitely rent this unit again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was our own little tropical oasis. Large space, great views, a nice shared pool and hot tub (we like chatting with the neighbors). Go to the beach where you hike down past Nourish cafe, and find yourself on a sandy beach below mangrove trees so you can lie in the shade. You can even wade or swim into Hanalei bay. A couple downsides: the tvs are old and hard to figure out. This was a bummer because the Olympics were on. Also only the master bed has AC, although we knew this going in.

Not the right rental for people not used to hot/humid weather

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While the property management company were great communicators and kept a nice, clean unit, there is nothing they can do about the fact that only the downstairs bedroom has a portable AC unit, which made the rest of the condo uninhabitable for our entire stay. All three of us slept in that one room, with my daughter sleeping on the floor next to the AC so she could sleep. Even at 9a in the morning it was so hot upstairs you could not stay up there, even with windows open & fans going to bring in cooler air. The VRBO description was up front about only the downstairs having AC (though it is a portable unit, not a regular AC system with vents that would distribute the air equally), but I had last been in Kauai 10 years ago when the weather wasn't so hot & muggy. At home, I live in 100+ degree heat and set my AC to 78-80, so I am not a person who wants my room ice cold, but this was so hot & stuffy, as to be miserable, even late at night after the outside had cooled down. They had a lot of fans, but it didn't really help. But it is otherwise a nice, inexpensive place to stay with the basics.

Only for a very tight budget

We thought this place would be quirky but it was miserable. We couldn’t tolerate it. We moved out mid-way and are waiting for our refund. It gets the direct light of the hottest sun of the day with bad window coverings and the only plug-in AC unit is downstairs. It had a very distinct smell of being someone’s house— a very unpleasant smell that got worse when the sun baked the place. When we arrived there was no key for us so we had to wait outside. The beds were comfortable. I’m trying to think of other positives… it was like if you’re absolutely broke and someone invited you to stay with their grandma in Kauai. It would be a great place to crash free, but not a vacation rental. It appeared and felt occupied. We are not complainers, but we do not recommend this rental.

We wish this guest had read the entire description which clearly explains that only the downstairs is air-conditioned. We try to be as informative as possible because surprises are not to anyone's benefit. Most of our guests are perfectly comfortable without AC but do enjoy being able to sleep cool. As this guest is aware, and in fairness ought to have mentioned, the key was out of the lockbox because maintenance was making a extra copies so they wouldn't have just the one key, and they brought the keys to them within a few minutes. We didn't detect any unusual odors but nonetheless we aired it thoroughly, cleaned the rugs, and re-washed all the bedding, towels, curtains, pillow covers etc.
