4th of July weekend

This house was awesome and everything we needed for the 4th of July weekend. More than enough room for me and all my friends. Had 14 people stay in the house and everyone had a place to sleep. Perfect for family vacations, wedding parties, or other big party gatherings. The hosts also offered an early check in and late check out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Wonderful Place!

Super nice place. Great spot if visiting Virginia Tech. Owners are excellent and highly organized. House has everything you would want and is right on the lake front.

Great Stay at the Lake!

We had a great long family weekend at the lake. The house was perfect with lots of seating area for adults and kids. The kayaks were all kinds of fun and sitting on the decks just watching the boats go by was so relaxing. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Family time at the lake

Beautiful home and location on the lake. House is much more spacious than it seems in the pics! We had a very comfortable stay with five adults and five older teens. Lots of areas for everyone to relax together.

Host was receptive, quick to respond, and kind. The house was very cold when we arrived with the thermostat set to 50 F and the house did not heat up until the next day. We had a family member with a medical diagnosis that makes them susceptible to the cold so it was difficult for them to sleep the first night. During the winter I just suggest turning up the thermostat the morning of guests arriving. I’m sure during the summer it is not an issue. The only other notes I have is the water and ice dispenser does not work in the fridge and the door of the upstairs bedroom we stayed in would not latch. Other than that our stay was fine and the house was clean! The view of the lake was beautiful!

Great for group

Second time staying here, last year we definitely used it more to its fullest. Sandly only limited time this year. Great set up for large group with plenty of sleep capacity. Dock is great, kids enjoy jumping off the upper. Beautiful view. Last year groups went kayaking and enjoyed the fire pit.

Family weekend

We had a great stay this weekend! The host was more than accommodating with our questions leading up to the stay and during our time at the house. We had fabulous weather and enjoyed the lake so much! It was fantastic being able to have a boat delivered, and there was a nice park down the road where we could put our jet ski in the water. The kids loved jumping off the dock! We hope to be back next summer!

Fall Getaway (VT Football)

This property is a beautiful spot. My family and I enjoyed it very much. We were a group of 14 and we were very comfortable with the accommodations! We especially loved the back yard view of the beautiful Claytor lake, and were even able to take a quick dip on this October weekend! Though it was a little further from Tech than we thought, my Hokie son and his roommates enjoyed visiting for the day to get a little break at this wonderful oasis; cornhole, swimming, and a back yard barbecue! We would definitely love to return before he graduates! Thank you to the owners for having everything we needed to make it perfect!

Pre - Post Wedding Relaxation Zone

We were in town for our daughter’s wedding. The lake house was amazing for everyone to come and relax and enjoy time on the water. It was the perfect Post wedding relaxation oasis! The house was clean and spacious. Our host, Sherry was very communicative leading up to our stay. She was prompt to respond to my questions and provided information to prepare for our stay. She was very flexible with our travel timeline and hiccups. The location was an interesting 15 min drive on the small winding mountain road, but once at the lake house it was worth it! Just make sure to grab your supplies before making that trek. We enjoyed the using the kayaks and jumping from the top deck of the boat dock. We rented a boat for the weekend for fishing and sunset cruising. Every night was topped off with a gathering around the fire pit, laughing and sharing stories of the wedding day fun or reminiscing of times past. Thank you for the incredible memories created!

Great getaway

We all thoroughly enjoyed the house. The four days flew by as we got a lot of time swimming off the dock and enjoying the patio. We did get one night where the skies cleared and were able to get a fire going. We rented plenty of water craft to enjoy cruising around the lake in our pontoon boat and canoeing and paddle boarding over to the cliffs and around the nearby coves for fishing. Even though it rained for a bit we enjoyed all the amenities of the house. The only complaint we have is that we now have a four year old that is obsessed with water, particularly water where you can jump off a dock. Thanks again for the hospitality and if we’re ever down in that neck of the woods again we will be bothering you to stay for another trip.
