Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is unbeatable; views of the beach, mere steps to the surf, close to restaurants, shopping and everything offered in Pacific Beach. The property was well equipped with a kitchen, washer and dryer and designated parking. We brought shade canopies that we did not use because the house itself was right on the beach. We enjoyed many meals and visits with friends and family on the patio which is well furnished. A brilliant choice!

Can't recommend this location enough! Right on the sand with beautiful views of the ocean. The cutest coffee stands, restaurants, and shops are just a block or two away. We were able to sleep a group of 12 girls comfortably between two units and had the best time!

Great location with two parking spots for our multi-generation family vacation! The housekeeping service was prompt and responsive. The only issues we had was the listing was marked as handicap accessible and it is not, due to two very large steps at both entrances/exits. While there is a roll in shower, there is no shower chair for safety use. Overall we would recommend to anyone that is able-bodied to rent this unit, but please adjust your listing for those who are wheelchair bound.

We rented this listing for a 16 person college reunion. Maurice and his colleague, Anna, were very communicative and helpful before and during the stay. The proximity to the beach and pacific beach is absolutely unbeatable. It’s directly on the beach, has incredible ocean views and comes with 2 parking spots. However, It felt as though we were staying in a motel at times. It is 2 separate condos, not one house. The building was older and things were either broken or actively being replaced. There was no AC, though fans worked well, and we found the place to be fairly dirty and uncomfortable upon check in. We felt the units hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned and the TVs didn’t turn on. The TVs were eventually replaced the following day, however, which we appreciated. The unit managers were helpful and friendly but due to the nature of the building, we did not feel like we rented an VRBO but more so a dormitory of sorts. We had 16 adults in these units and were extremely crammed with guys having to sleep on futons.This units are great if you’re there with a smaller group and want to spend your time in the adjacent neighborhoods or on the beach. Overall would recommend for smaller groups but felt the place does not adequately handle anything over 12 adults comfortably whatsoever. The hosts were communicative and the location was unbeatable though you should expect a lot of foot traffic and unavoidable noise.

Great Stay

Property was clean and right out front is the boardwalk and the beach. Maurice was very responsive to our questions. Property had appliances to cook, clean, wash and dry clothes. Would recommend staying as the property was close proximity not only to the beach but also other San Diego attractions.

Location is really pretty special. Walking out onto the beach is super convenient when you have kids and may need to make trips back up the house for different reasons, or if you did something else that day but still want to get your feet wet before the day was over. Hearing the surf in the evenings. Walking down to the pier was also fun. And we saw dolphins off the coast both days we spent on the beach. Rental was clean. Management was easy to get a hold of when we had trouble gaining access on arrival. 5 stars.

Great House with Amazing location

Our stay at the King of the beach was great. The property manager was easy to communicate with. The property itself was great and accommodated our large group with kids very well. The locations was amazing! Being right on the beach makes the beach days so much easier and convenient with kids. For anyone staying the parking stalls are smaller and there is only 1 stall per unit. We had 2 units for 3 families with 3 cars so it was tough finding parking in the alley way for the extra car but it worked out in the end. We would recommend this property to anyone and hope to be back soon!

BUT there is free parking in the alley, street or FREE nearby parking lots. YES - we're in the best location in Mission Beach and our beach homes are beautiful. Come back again!

Nice but …

The property is in an amazing location right on the boardwalk. Maurice was very nice and attentive. We never got to use the patio because it was monopolized by another family in the unit. I was under the impression it was for the first floor units but didn’t know this until I questioned it when we arrived.

Great place to stay..,not luxurious but great location

This was a learning curve for us. First floor is sand level and the floor doesn’t ever get clean. It’s also a little noise during the nite from passerbys. But we had everything we needed and the sheets and towels and most beds were great! Needs updating so it can be kept clean more easily. Also had some things that were left outside stolen by a bicycle bandit. Loved the sound of the waves crashing and the water so close. We would get a 2nd floor unit next time. And this was two units we thought were connected but they weren’t, so that caused some issues for us. Unit 2 is most comfortable for 4-6 people, the sleeping in the front room didn’t work because it was so loud in both units. Not having air conditioning wasn’t that bad in October but I can’t imagine sleeping in those rooms in the summer. Thank you for what you provided! We learned what to look for!

Thank you for staying with us and in Mission Beach for the 1st time. YES the beach is vibrant with people watching, surfing and swimming right in front of you. The beach homes are ground floor and are about 6' away from each other which families enjoy having a private space yet be able to have 2 large living rooms, kitchens, bathroom, etc.

Wonderful stay right on beach

Beautiful home right on the beach. Couldn’t ask for a better view or location! Very responsive to all questions and very easy to work with. We couldn’t have asked for a better place!

Perfect location for a gathering!

The view cannot be best, this location has it all in terms of distance to the beach and a fun downtown! A must stay!

80th birthday celebration

Perfect location in center Mission Beach, about 1 mile from the rollercoaster or Pacific Beach Pier. Mom turned 80 and we pushed her in her wheelchair on the boardwalk to dinner/drinks/exercise. We knew we were going to stick close to the beach so ubering from the airport worked well. Only 1 parking spot per unit and crowded parking, the less vehicles you bring, the better. The giant picture window looks onto the beach so mom could sit in the window and see the rest of us hanging out on the beach. I am assuming previous renter left their boogie boards, chairs and toys. These items were not listed on their inventory but they were there. I would absolutely rent this place again !! :)

Can’t beat the view

We LOVED the location of this place. ON the beach! The view of the ocean was incredible. We were there to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. We stayed in units 1 and 2. We had 12 adults and all slept comfortable, we could have had one more couple there too. Check in was super easy. A couple things that could have been improved- the units could use a good deep clean, we couldn’t find a broom or garbage bags in unit 2 and we were out of laundry soap. Luckily the other unit had them though! The ad mentioned a fire pit on the patio, but it wasn’t there. None of this would deter us from staying there again, we absolutely loved our stay and would love to to come back soon!

Thank you so much for staying with us - we have a large BBQ island on the patio, no firepit? We made sure there was a laundry soap container (previous guest must have taken it) near the new washer/dryer. Thank you for your input as we continuously improve on our services.

Just as advertised.

Just as advertised. This is a really exceptional property with an exceptional location. The bottom two units are easily adjoining and provide plenty of space. The boardwalk is a literal spectacle of entertainment.

Starting with 1 truck and no trades knowledge, the company grew to over 50 in less than 5 years and was modeled throughout the world thru the Maio Success System. Mr. Maio developed many innovated business practices and has hosted over 1200 seminars worldwide. He sold his companies to a wall street firm and began his vacation rental business.

Since it's inception, The San Diego Beach King has offered it's clients first class service at reasonable rental rates. Each property is carefully maintained and decorated with style. The Maio team runs smoothly and you'll see him smiling visiting the properties often. He loves Mission Beach, knows where to eat, where to rent, where to surf.
