Stonehouse Loft è un nuovissimo edificio, costruito da zero nel 2015. Progettato dal tuo host, con i piani disegnati da Jess Wilton, un grande architetto locale di Durango, è stato costruito da persone (di nuovo il tuo host!) e per le persone che amano il design moderno. Il Loft presenta radianti pavimenti in cemento riscaldati e un'atmosfera moderna, luminosa ma accogliente. Situato a mezzo isolato dalla Main Avenue, nel centro di Durango, puoi raggiungere a piedi tutti i negozi, i ristoranti, le gallerie e i bar in pochi minuti da questo appartamento situato in posizione centrale. Un letto king size, una bella doccia e un bagno e una cucina ben attrezzata offrono i comfort e le comodità di casa. Vicino alla mountain bike, alle escursioni, al fiume e alla ferrovia a scartamento ridotto Durango Silverton. Questa proprietà ti mette vicino a tutto ciò che Durango ha da offrire. Great flat for a couple in a fantastic location. The modern design of the place and the clean esthetic of the decor are on point. The kitchen has all you need but there are many great eateries down the street too.

Weekend getaway - exactly what we needed

We loved staying at this modernist apartment - very clean and hip for these two “old timers”. Located a block off Main St., we walked everywhere this weekend - restaurants, bars and shopping. Durango is a fun town and this property made our weekend memorable. I would highly recommend staying her. Owner George will treat you right - you wine disappointed

Perfect lodging in central Durango

We really enjoyed our stay at George’s place. Location was perfect for exploring Durango (nice to leave the car parked and walk everywhere!). The shared backyard was great to sit out in and enjoy the love music from Buckley Park. Great stay overall!

The property was very well equipped. George welcomed us with a bottle of wine and there was plenty of tea, coffee and a variety of condiments for us to use. We would stay there again if we were to visit Durango.

Great stay!

This was our 2nd time staying at George's place and it was as great as the first. The place is clean, the bed is very comfortable and the location can't be beat! It's right in town yet very quiet for sleeping. The bonus this time was that our family rented the apartment next door so we really enjoyed being able to spend time together on the shared patio. Highly recommend!

Durango Christmas

Great experience! Very clean AND easy to keep clean. Spacious, lots of light and good views. We cook and found the kitchen was excellent! A block off Main Avenue and the great restaurants and coffee shops. Location of apartment is on a service street so there is no noisy traffic. Space for one car off street parking.We had six people over for supper and was comfortable and easy. Plenty of convenient storage space. It was just right for us! (our only 5 star rating for the 2024)

I moved to Durango right out of high school in 1991. I waited tables at a restaurant for three months before deciding I needed to do more. I went to college, and then lived and worked in NYC for twenty years before finally making it back to Durango in 2010.
I'm an Artist, and a builder, and the Stonehouse Loft gave me the opportunity to bring these two skills together. The Loft is a completely new building which I built from the ground up to be a modern, comfortable and convenient downtown hideaway. I love mountain biking on the trails around town, hiking, backpacking, rafting, and exploring the deserts and mountains with my partner Amber Johnson, a Durango Native (that rare breed!) that i'm lucky enough to share my adventures with.

The Stonehouse Loft is a unique downtown property that is super close to Main Street, but provides a remarkable feeling of seclusion, even in the heart of busy downtown Durango. The Stonehouse Loft is a brand new, energy efficient and modern building with radiant heat, on demand hot water, huge windows with abundant natural light, and an open airy feel. There is a large private patio and garden, which is tucked away behind a fence and deck, but that offers views of the large trees in Buckley Park, right across the street. From the Stonehouse Studio you can walk anywhere you might want to go in downtown Durango. All the best restaurants and shops, galleries, bars and grocery stores are just minutes away on foot. All of the Mountain Biking Trailheads are easily accessed from downtown, and are there are literally hundreds of miles of trails you can access directly from the driveway in just a few minutes ride.
