This is on the water - great location

We visited in fall and loved being so close to the water. We enjoyed watching and hearing the water from the deck and inside through big windows! Sutton’s Bay is a small charming town and the Leelanau area offers great places to explore, including wine tasting, beaches and lighthouses.

Summer family vacation

Lovely cabin on the bay. Perfect waterfront cabin for a summer vacation. Everything we were looking for. Kids could walk out to the lake and safely play. Close to Sutton’s.

Gorgeous house on the lake shore

Our family of four had a lovely week in this house. We ate most meals on the large deck, looking over the lake. The pebble-shore, dock, and kayaks were big hits. It was a short drive to the Leelanau bike trail trail, and I slightly longer drive to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and many nice hiking trails. This place is a winner.

beautiful sunrises, quiet and friendly neighborhood, great family cottage

We loved spending 10 days at this cottage. It is just as the photos and listing described. It is a relaxed, comfortable cottage, well-appointed, awesome east-facing deck and fun fire pit area. Brian and Cathy were easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. The location is great - a short drive (or substantial walk!) to Suttons Bay. Thanks for sharing it with our family!

Secluded Lake Home

My family enjoyed our visit very much. We spent a good deal of time on the spacious deck looking out over the bay. We tend to cook a fair bit on our vacations and the kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, pans, etc. The home is on a secluded road and is very quiet and private. It is also close to Suttons Bay so shopping, etc., are convenient. The homes dock provided a good platform for launching kayaks and swimming but the water is too shallow to dock a boat. Host was great and I would gladly stay here again.

Lovely Lakehouse Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is exactly as depicted. Others noted a smell of mustiness - we did not experience this at all. The house was clean and decorated as a family lake house, which was exactly what we were looking for. We could feel that the owners love and enjoy the space themselves. It felt as if we were staying at a friend's house - cozy and welcoming, not sterile. Great location, just a short drive to Suttons Bay, Leland, Leelanau wineries, etc.,

beautiful view

pictures of the property in the listing are accurate with one exception, the view is better ! Kitchen is well equipped. plenty of good deck furniture but not down by the lake The house is a little musty smelling.

Nothing Better

We couldn't have asked for a nicer home or location for a family vacation, including our dog. The home was very comfortable and well stocked. The neighborhood peaceful and friendly. Our favorite memories will be the nightly gatherings around the fire and being a family. Bring a telescope if you have one because you'll get great views of Jupiter and Saturn. Moons, rings and all! Many, many thanks to Brian and his family.

Sorry to hear about the musty smell upon arrival. It has been very damp and unseasonably warm this fall which is beyond our control. Typically, we would be running the furnace by now which would alleviate this issue.

A Wonderful Getaway for the Family

This was a great home with an off the beaten path location. Just what we were looking for! Sunrises, thunderstorms, waves and rocks...just what the doctor ordered! Eight adults slept comfortably. Brian was quick to respond to all our inquiries.

Excellent Rental

Owner was very good in being sure we were comfortable and had no problems. Nice road for walking and strolling. Lovely view of sunrises. Handy to Suttons Bay: groceries, shopping, dining. Well equipped with spices, towels and more.

suttons bay get away

Brian was awesome. We loved hanging on the upper deck and looking at the water. Great place if you have dogs as the upper deck is fenced in with a gate so easy access for the dogs to hang when drying off and not having to go through the house. Can't wait until next summer!

Wonderful property!

We spent a week at this wonderful home and loved it so much! Very spacious and beautiful views. The owners were very gracious and helpful with all the property notes to make our stay perfect.
