We had a wonderful time here! Tara was in touch the whole time. The house is perfect - cozy and cute and homey. And the secret garden is magical. We had a wonderful stay with our family. Would absolutely love to stay here again

Tara is an excellent host that manages to provide enough information at the right time while being able to respond to any queries quite quickly. The property is well located, being a 20 minute walk into the town center, and well positioned for access to the winery's etc. Tara has provided everything we needed for a week-long stay with the added advantage of a lovely garden to relax in after a day of cycling around winery's.

We traveled to the area to see Niagara Falls. Staying at this property in Niagara on the Lake was wonderful! The Secret Garden Cottage was clean and had everything you would need for your stay. The back garden was lovely and peaceful. The cottage is in a convenient location, with several restaurants within walking distance. The Secret Garden Cottage is delightful!

Charming cottage with interesting spaces. We loved the sun room where we had our morning coffee every day. Tara has made every effort to make the cottage attractive with lots of art work and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One is spacious, well equipped and quiet despite being on the street side of the cottage. The second bedroom is small and cramped. The bed is only accessible from one side. It's window gets light from the security lights on the shopping area next door and street noise from the main road. Cottage is very central with easy access to the Shaw Festival and, at current count, 39 wineries in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The Turquoise bedroom is definitely smaller, and the photos clearly indicate that, as well as the layout of the room. No surprises at my place! We installed blackout blinds precisely because of the safety lights from the plaza next door, and it's recommended to pull them down every night before going to bed.

We really enjoyed our stay at the secret garden. It was a great location. A short easy walk into old town. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden and garden room were our favourite places to relax during our stay. While we did not do much cooking the kitchen was well stocked for anyone to preparing meals on site. Thanks again for letting us stay at your place!

We had a wonderful time at this place it was so beautiful! Exactly what you see in the pictures and even better in person! When I go back to Niagara on the Lake I will check to see if it’s available before I look anywhere else.

Exactly what we needed!

This place was everything we needed as a party of 4. It was very clean and well stocked. Beds and pillows were both very comfy. The garden was also beautiful!

Secret Garden Cottage stay

My sister and I spent two nights at Tara’s and had a lovely time. We spent most of our time in the garden room catching up over coffee and wine. Thank you Tara for being a super host and thank you for a delicious bottle of Niagara wine to start our stay. We would definitely come again!

I have always been drawn to beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, not far from my home in Toronto. I inevitably feel a big sigh of relief as I enter the region, driving past the orchards and vineyards during the different seasons and seeing the colours change from one week to the next. I am a member of several local wineries, but also try to visit the ever-growing number of new ones when I am not gardening at the Secret Garden Cottage. The Secret Garden Cottage is a dream come true for me, and I love sharing it with others! It's so gratifying to hear from my guests what a wonderful time they have had staying at the Secret Garden Cottage, and that my suggestions for how to get the most out of beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake were helpful. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Niagara-on-the-Lake is quaint and inviting, and has so much to offer both residents and guests: From wine tours to world-renowned restaurants, and the famous SHAW Festival Theatre. The Secret Garden Cottage is in a perfect location, allowing those who stay there to easily enjoy them all. Park your car in the driveway, and walk next door to one of the top bakeries in town. The house is so well situated - it's a short walk to "downtown NOTL", and fun to pop into the unique boutiques, galleries and specialty shops. Visit wineries or book a wine tour. Be sure to use the two complimentary bicycles I have provided.

The neighborhood is beautiful, the proximity to town is perfect, and there is a quality Kawai piano in the Music Room! The Secret Garden Cottage is equipped with everything you need, with complimentary Pharmacopia toiletries and a bottle of complimentary local, Niagara-on-the-Lake wine, a fully-stocked kitchen with laundry facilities as well, an outdoor barbecue grill, a Smart TV with Amazon Fire Stick, and a multitude of puzzles, books and games for you and your family or friends to enjoy. Spend some time discovering the 3-tiered Secret Garden, and pick some tomatoes in my vegetable garden! Enjoy a glass of wine on the back deck or in the Garden Room. Allow my home-away-from-home to be your home-away-from-home for a little while!
