Secluded & Pet Friendly

Loved the seclusion this house provided. Also, the fenced backyard was perfect for our pups. The host checked in on us and quickly answered any questions that we had. If you are looking for privacy and a great spot for your pets this is the place!

Amazing location and accommodations getaway for a long weekend.

Fantastic all around! Hot tub was great for after long winter hikes. The location is private and quiet but so close to everything. I would recommend to anyone including couples, families, or multiple couples. The house works so well.

Great place to stay and amazing location!

We had a wonderful time staying here! It is extremely private. Great location with tons to do. The house was very family friendly. I highly recommend renting the entire house. Adding on the basement gives a ton of extra room and extra privacy. Kelsey was super super quick to respond to all messages. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning!

Convenient location with hot tub!

The name of the listing is accurate: The house is built into a hillside in a very secluded and pretty location. Nonetheless, it has easy access to Traverse City and the wineries/cideries of the Leelanau. We had no trouble going into town for coffee or to pick up food. The hot tub is one of the best features, well-maintained and in a private location behind the house. We stayed in winter and the driveway is steep, but we had no problem in our low clearance AWD car.

We drove up to Traverse City after picking up our daughter at Michigan State University.

We had been hearing so much about Traverse City as a great place to visit and took advantage of an opportunity to pick up our Michigan State University student and head north in early January. We enjoyed walking along the Lake Michigan shoreline watching the small waves and bits of ice floating in the water. At night we enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. We walked the entire Sleeping Bear Dunes hike. That was an adventure! Bring water! The house had everything we needed to cook and relax. The beds are very comfortable!

It felt so homey! They stocked the place with everything we needed! Very private setting in a beautiful forest. Being there in the winter added a bit if excitement as well as some serenity. We would totally revisit!

Cozy-Hillside-Escape… will leave your troubles behind!

Story in a nutshell... We'll be back!! Kelsey was quick to correspond and made sure we had everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay. The property is soo close to everything! 5mins from Timberlee tubing hills... 5 mins to various wineries... 10-15 mins to most things Traverse City! Stayed in the winter and even without the leaves on the trees, the property felt very private and secluded. Hot Tub was incredibly inviting after the long chilly days exploring the Leelanau Peninsula. Wood for the fireplace was well stocked and also added to the cozy ambience of our stay. Our crew rented the entire house and had plenty of room.. privacy for all! The driveway is a bit steep.. but someone locally will come plow snow and spread salt...(extra salt was noted in the garage which we took advantage of with icy conditions). Tossing stars upon stars for this rental! Can't wait to be back! :)

Beautiful in the Fall

The house was perfect for our wine weekend with friends. The house had everything we needed and the hot tub was a great bonus. Just an FYI that we didn’t realize when booking, this listing doesn’t include the basement space. There were other renters staying there at the same time, and you can definitely hear them at certain times. They did not have access to the backyard or hot tub which was nice to not have to share. Overall it wasn’t that big of a deal. Kelsey was very responsive and helpful with our questions and concerns. We would definitely rent this property again but we would get the whole house next time.

It was perfect for our girls trip. Close to downtown, and near everything we had planned for our trip. Having the hot tub was a nice bonus compared to other choices.

Weekend in Traverse City

This house was awesome. Joe and Kelsey were helpful and easy to reach. Also, the welcome bottle of wine was appreciated. The location is great, just a few miles outside of town but a short bike ride away from the Leelanau Trail which provided a day of biking to the city. I would highly recommend and would stay again if I travel to Traverse City in the furture.

It's hard to find a secluded getaway in the middle of this beautiful peninsula, so close to Traverse City. We love the location - close to Lake Leelanau boat launches, Sutton's Bay, Traverse City, vineyards and wineries, the TART trail, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fish Town, beaches...this list goes on and on.

Very natural setting provides restful vacation feeling. We are nestled on a hill, where for three seasons, you can't see any neighbors. We offer a small fire pit and a luxurious hot tub to add to the ambiance.
